2026-27 Game Thread: Knicks vs. 76ers: Opening Night AND Ring Ceremony Night!

After a long, and mostly annoying, offseason, the WORLD CHAMPION New York Knicks are back to play a new season, their first season as the defending champions in over 50 years. I am feeling really great about this team right now, and I am once again predicting 58 wins, but only because the rest of the league has no incentive to tank anymore (so sadly, no more Bam going for 80+ in a game against 10 D-Leaguers).

This will sure be fun to see the Knicks get their rings, AND to demolish this new “super” team from Philly.

Let’s go, Knicks!

58 will be really great, but winning the championship back-to-back will take me aback!

Holy shit, are those rings big. They could have just paid Mitch’s salary with the money they spent on these rings.

It was a little odd, but there was an earnestness to it that landed with me. You could tell the guy is a real fan.

Would Hukparti have been here for his ring if he wasn’t on the Sixers?

WTF, they did the ceremony before 6pm start time??

I caught the banner reaching the top, so that was cool.

Did we get a “Fuck the Nets” chant when Mikal got his ring?

I heard “fuck dem picks”, but I might have been projecting.

Also, I live in Florida so have never needed to own a jacket for my entire adult life. But those jackets they were wearing were really nice. I might have to get one just to hang up somewhere.

I’m not watching, as I’m getting back from going to see my beloved FC Porto live on Champions League… an L, i need good things from the Knicks tonight. So until i can start watching, let me know what’s happening. How was the ring ceremony?

watching the whole roster together – we got a smallish team…

maybe pacome finds some time at backup 4 if things don’t look smooth with mo…

Gold uniforms is tacky AF, but hey, at least they earned the right to be tacky!
