“He’s averaging 9/9/5 on .593 shooting (10/11/6 per 36) in his last five games.”
Jericho Sims is putting up empty stats on a tanking team. In over 1200 minutes he has a -3.3 BPM. He averages 8.8 fouls per 36.
As silly as it is to tout Sims’ production of late, I am impressed with his assists rate. I don’t really remember him ever passing while on the Knicks, although he may never have played in a system that let him do anything other than dunk.
Good morning, all. Yep, I realize that not only is Sims on a tanking team getting more minutes than he ever otherwise would, but also that he is largely accumulating these stats against *other* tanking teams. Just pointing out that he may not be 100 percent bereft of any skills. I’m not pining to have him back.
Not the real Celtics tonight, maybe:

Jokic is really balling and also bailing Silver out of this MVP issue
All I care about these last few games is that no one gets hurt!
Oh and one more win so we can say we won more than last year!
After two straight years of high blood pressure first round matchups, I wouldn’t mind a presumably easier match up. Toronto maybe.
How Embiid gets his 3 off against Wemby. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1270661681230780
Pretty funny Embiid video. Not sure it’s the most irritating thing to me in today’s game, but the ‘nobody ever travels anymore’ thing is right up there. The eurostep and stepback make it harder, but c’mon, it’s not that hard to count to three.
In deference to Strat, Embiid’s shot isn’t a step back… it is a canter back 3!
I’m treating the first round same as these last three games.
Just win majority of the games you play and get through to 2nd round vs Boston without injuries.
Until then, – it’s pretty boring.
What about making sure the Nuggets have a better record so we don’t drop down to the 26th pick in the draft??
I had this spike of anxiety before I remembered the Pacers have been out of the running for months. Next year should be awful.

Are the Celts holding out players tonight to try to look like they are not scared of us? Or are they actually *not* scared of us? Or are they scared of us? Tatum might have a “thing” about playing in MSG for the first time since…….well, you know.
My guess is that a) the Celts don’t want to risk injury in a hard-fought game, and actually think they can compete even with players sitting, and b) they don’t want to reveal strategies that they plan to use against us in the playoffs. Cowardly, but probably smart.
Smart move, if they lose it’ll because they’re missing key guys (and they still probably get the 2 seed) and if they win, it’s a blow to the Knicks psyche (they can’t even beat us at MSG without Jaylen Brown, e.g.)
game day, let’s go…
sadly, today’s game most likely means more to us than to them…
tough position to be in, unless you can execute well…
so let’s do that…
here comes hack a mitch maybe…
really wish joe mazzulla was not such a top tier type coach, and boy wonder (old man now) wasn’t such a genuissy gm…
life is hard when your enemies exhibit consistent competence at a high level…
excellent use of the words: bereft and pining…I liked it 😃

If they don’t play Neemas, is KAT going to be able to beat up on Vooch? What’s up with Kolek—is it an *actual* injury?
One thing I appreciate about this Knicks team is even if they lose tonight it won’t have any affect whatsoever on their psyche.
jalen, josh and mikal help give them that tourney vibe…deuce and mitch both seem born ready…OG and KAT hopefully can be steady really good…landry can get and stay hot for several games…this is the exact reason jordan clarkson is wearing a knick uniform, he’s been waiting on this moment for a long time…
pretty sure at some point(s) one of the younger guys like mo or young/old kolek will light things up…
my expectation though is they won’t quit during a game…may start the first quarter or half down 15 or 20 points, but they won’t quit…
If we start the first quarter already down 15 or 20 points, there are larger issues. 🙂
start mitch…better yet: start deuce too…
jalen, deuce, OG, KAT, mitch…hard to imagine them not being able to play better or even with any other starting five…
Embiid appendix surgery. First time I’ve ever sympathized with him.
That wasn’t the injury I was expecting from him.
embiid seems an old 32…most likely out for the play in or first round playoffs…
Embiid is one of those guys I don’t have a lot of sympathy for. Sucks to be him is about as far as I’ll go.
It seems obvious to conjecture that we would now prefer Philly in the first round over Atlanta?
I don’t see anyway we play Philly. It’s going to be Toronto or Atlanta
Yes, obvious. But agree we may not get them.
Could be Orlando too.
Jaylen Brown and Kolek are now the only players listed as out tonight.
I did not know this:
NBA players Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (NAW) are cousins who grew up together in Ontario, Canada, sharing a bond they describe as brothers. Born just 52 days apart in 1998, they played together at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Tennessee and are both accomplished NBA guards.
Doesnt matter who we play in the first round. There is a school of thought that you actually want to play a difficult opponent to get you ready for next round. Same as Detroit last year. Some prefer an easy gentlemans sweep and an extra 2 days rest.
Preferences aside, the end result will the same. For this we can Thank Leon and the entire Brunson family.
Cavs sitting Mitchell and Allen tomorrow at Atlanta.
It’s kind of annoying how many times SGA has stopped playing at either exactly 20 (or sometimes 21) points ever since he broke the record for longest consecutive streak of 20-point-or-more games.
Streaks are the only thing keeping people on the court these days.
Two years ago the league had amazing parity, everybody was competing for the chip, home court, or the play-ins. It was beautiful. Last year the league had one of the best playoffs ever. It was glorious.
This year is gross.

Serious question: What do you think is the single biggest factor causing this change?
Our boxing out is horrific.
Looking more and more like we are going to play one of Atlanta or Toronto…
Nice stretch from Towns.
Our 3-pt D is no bueno (shocker!)
