Per Shams Charania, geo’s man-crush Cade Cunningham has a collapsed lung and will miss extended time.

He’s likely back just in time for the beginning of the playoffs, about a month. Wonder if they fall in the standings in the meantime. Their “magic number” over us right now is 9, and is 11 over Boston, with about 13 games remaining.

I want to win with everybody available, but this is part of the game, it happens to us too.

My cousin had a lung collapse. He was the frontman of a jam band and smoked a LOT of everything, so always figured that was what caused it. Per google this morning, though, it appears to happen spontaneously in young tall thin men, all of which he was at the time, so I abstained from smoking crack for nothing it seems.

That’s not as bad as i thought, maybe it doesn’t derail their season.

so I abstained from smoking crack for nothing it seems

LOL! Keep being you, Donnie, i needed the laugh! 😉

For Cade, it also means yet another MVP candidate likely misses the 65 game threshold.

I don’t see us passing them. They irk out alot of wins. I think we beat them in playoffs but they don’t have as many stupid losses as we do

I think the Celts are 5-2 since Tatum’s return, with the losses being to OKC and the Spurs. Ho, hum.

In the meantime, we’re on the weirdest, dumbest 4-game win streak ever.

Terrible news on Cade. This is one of those injuries that could have a huge impact. The Pistons are searching for a consistent #2 option that can create for himself instead of playing off Cade and now they don’t have their #1. Hoping for a speedy recovery. I don’t want to win this way

Donnie, no insult, but I wouldn’t have taken you as a long, thin morph.

(One of the fun parts of this site is building an image of each poster in my head, undoubtedly hideously incorrect — I think the only things I know for sure are Alan, and Jowles’ glutes…)

I’m thinking Duren takes off a little bit as their primary scorer, with Ausar anchoring what’s left of their defense and Daniss Jenkins doing his best to fill the Cade role. I could be wrong, but Tobias Harris (even though he does pop out a good game every now and again) and Duncan Robinson don’t scare me much.

I’m not sure if Duren can pull it off with defenses focusing on him now. On paper, it looks like he would be the #1, with LeVert as the best option as the #2. But don’t sleep on Thompson. Take him too lightly and he will drop 30 on you via athleticism alone. This is big for Detroit, but not big enough for us or the C’s to overtake them for 1st in the East. Bickerstaff is coaching his ass off this season

But definitely Godspeed, Cade. Dude is a baller

I think the only things I know for sure are Alan

Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.

Next three games will be decided by halftime like the rest of the league is when a tank team plays a contender during last 3 weeks of the season. Now is the time to rest and/or sit players that need to perform at their best begining mid-April.

Treat road games @ Charlotte & @ Houston and home game vs Boston as playoff games and see if you can learn something from those. Otherwise, MB must have a good idea of what to do and what not to do in the playoffs.

Ps. Take a page from Popovic. Sit the entire starting lineup on the road against OKC.

I can’t help but think of Donnie Walsh looking like…….well, you know, like Donnie Walsh.

For many years all I knew about JK47 was that he was roughly my age, went to Syracuse, and lived here in LA. During those years, there was a fellow dad in one of kid’s classes whose initials were JK and who had met his wife at Syracuse, so I was, naturally, prrrrrrretty sure that I had broken the 4th wall here. I’d speak to him in veiled knick references with lots of nods and winks. Then one day our JK was like “hey guys, I’m gonna be on the tonight show playing with Pete Yorn later”, and I was like, “impossible, you’re gonna be flipping burgers at father-daughter STEM night with me later”, and the other JK was like “who the fuck is this Lee Nailon guy you keep winking at me about?”

that’s right sexy al, shake that money maker 🙂

dang, sounds like cade was in a car accident or something even worse, like playing football…

actually tried out one time for the football team, i had gotten kicked off of the soccer team, so, thought i’d give kicking a try, went in clueless and was terrible, no go at that station…

did play rugby for a while, only lasted about 4 games before tearing part of my deltoid, crazy sport, in a short time saw a couple of gruesome injuries, great chill time after games though…

after that experience gravitated to more civilized activities like racquetball, handball, foosball, darts…

did have to do the plebe boxing thing though…had wrestled, done some martial arts prior, but boxing is its own thing…boxed with this one person whom was so fast and accurate, they just kept jabbing me over and over and over again, knocked out BOTH of my contacts, thankfully they were being kind and not trying to knock me out with hooks, uppercuts and straight punches down the middle…patience provides sometimes – during a tourney thing got to ref his bout against another student, had to call the bout because that person was pummeling them so badly they were about to knock him out, thankfully never had to fight that other guy…ended up at an artillery school in oklahoma with both after graduation, really good people…

one time we were practicing left handed jabs, i got partnered up with a natural lefty…after class was sitting by my locker and got way dizzy…went back to ol’ pershing barracks and told the cadet in charge of quarters wasn’t doing too good and needed to go lay down (not normally allowed during the day for freshman)…thankfully that experience hasn’t repeated too often in life…oldest son’s taken up boxing for a while, tagged me a couple of times really well, we spar for a bit, it ain’t always pretty for me…

normally when we sparred in class would partner up with someone cool and shadow box mostly, that definitely irritated the blood thirsty old man instructing us, with my lack of enthusiasm at the time for people punching me, was lucky to pass that class…got paired up with this prior service (not straight out of high school, so generally a few years older) guy one time, went to the prep school with his brother, so we were sort of cool…he was pretty much a try hard though and was wanting to go at it, kept backing me up and walked in to a jab, broke his nose and had to take the class over again once it healed…remember thinking afterwards, that’s kind of exactly the situation that i was trying to avoid, we were still cool afterwards…

even with the elementary kids at their tourney this weekend, things got pretty physical at times, so yeah, hope cade heals up well, and then loses in the first round of the playoffs, against whoever…

Good thing my thumbnail is actually me from maybe ’22 with a mask of my lower face on my face, before I switched to locs 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hubert, can your AI tool that reviews all posts create a likely image? – If yes, – just have it create a KnickerBlogger group photo.

Was wondering where Hubert went… Geo reminds me of the Dos Equis “most interesting man in the world” commercials…

Director, that made me smile during a fairly annoying day, so thanks.

Hubert would have to make sure it had a caption, like “First Row: L to R: Hubert, Strat…”

Wouldn’t Hubert be sitting next to Z-man, chatting it up?

How much fun would it be for Siena to beat Duke in the first round of the NCAAs? They’re up by 11 at halftime.

Four straight offensive rebounds by Duke, another missed 3 by Siena, and Duke is down by 1. Sigh.

I do try to stay out of the tea-leaf reading hot takes, but the fight in Milwaukee over Giannis sitting out the rest of the season (team says yes please, Giannis says no) makes me think an offseason trade is sure likely.

It could be something else, especially as I’m not any good with tea leaves. But still.

…and not because they’re not getting along, which is a thing I guess. It’s more about the team wanting to ensure a healthy Giannis for… the offseason?

Detroit is up 35-14 over Washington at the end of the 1st Quarter, no Cade Cunningham.

Yes, it’s just Washington. But the Pistons are eager to make it clear that — Cade or no Cade — they aren’t taking their foot off of the necks of anyone who comes to play.

watching hornets/magic, nipples 3 point shot looks as smooth and easy as a layup…

still surprised by the discrepancy of his size stat page wise, and how he looks playing…

Seeing them beat the wizards means absolutely nothing. I don’t care what they want to prove

    1

checking in on suns/spurs…suns staying with them early without brooks, williams and allen…

castle is out for the spurs, really good player, hardly notice his absence though because they have so many other good players…

Huh no chatter about starting lineups today? Ours has sucked, with roughly a +3 plus/minus (nba champions average around +10.)

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I think swapping Deuce for Hart was probably the move, but Deuce’s surgery screwed up that possibility.

Now I assume Brown will deem it too late to make that switch, but I think we need to try something to have a chance in the playoffs.

    Hornets destroying Orlando

    2 seed vs Charlotte maybe*

Been elite since the new year

I’m sorry I know it’s March Madness and all, but college basketball really does suck. I put on the NC-VCU game and each team has scored 2 points in overtime with 40 seconds left.

And not because of defense they’re bricking wide open shots and missing layups.

“no cade, no second round, no way no how…”

Yes, geo, except for Cunningham *is* expected to be back for the first round. It’s reported as being a 2-4-week recovery time from when it occurred.

Also: Yes, I understand that my reporting on the Duke/Siena game earlier today could easily make it seem as if I care about college hoops—I actually don’t (other than knowing who might end up on my Knicks), and was only “watching” the score on my laptop as I worked. But also yes, I *was* excited about the possibility of a rare 16 beating 1, especially since it was Duke. I can’t apologize for that, but alas the second half of the second half made it impossible as the stage got too big for Siena very quickly.
