From “Tombstone Blues,” one of the songs depicted in the recent biopic, A Complete Unknown, this line denotes that we will gain knowledge of how the Knicks will operate without their point guard.
Luckily, he didn’t break his ankle, but they said he’ll be reevaluated in two weeks, and, well, thats certainly scary sounding. Plus, we all know the problem with ankle rolls is that they can very easily reroll. I’m officially concerned.
Let’s go, Knicks!
58 would have been great!

Release the Deuce!
Dooooooooooooooce!
The Great Experiment Begins…
Re-post:
This was from nearly 2 years ago, the day after Randle sprained his ankle vs. the Heat:
The good news is that Randle was able to return for game 2 of the playoffs on April 18. That’s around 3 weeks. Brunson has an additional 3 weeks to heal before the playoffs. So even if it is a 5-week injury, he should be in better shape than Randle was in 2023. Julius was not only still not 100%, he wound up getting Bammed again in the Heat series, and required surgery during the offseason, so that’s the bad news…Brunson might be back, but will he be 100%? If not, how close?
In any case, it’s certainly not the worst case scenario…something like a high ankle sprain or an accompanying bone injury that would have ended his season. Still, that did not look like the “2 weeks and good as new” kind of sprain, but Brunson is as tough as they come.
Would love to see Kolek get some minutes tonight, maybe even Dadiet. Give OG and Hart some more rest.
Well played, Cronin.
Ok let’s have a pool – who’s gonna be the leading scorer for the Knicks tonight?
I’m going with KAT, although not with a lot of confidence
I’m gonna say Mikal.
Deeeefence.
err defense?
Neither defense nor offence.
What’s the record for least points in an NBA game?
so who is responsible for making players prepared for the start of the game again?
We’ve dug ourselves a nice early hole as per usual…
…and just like that we’re winning.
against mid to bad teams, we can come back out from the hole. but forming that habit means the difference against the best teams
I know it’s been said ad nauseum, but it’s always weird to see Kawhi handling the basketball the way I would handle a bouncy softball.
Our boys are fighting at least
getting beat down the floor by old man batum
It’s not pretty, but it’s gritty.
OG has upped his scoring the last few games, but I really wish Mikal would take over that role. Trusting OG to dribble or attempt that many layups is not ideal.
Didn’t realize Mitch is sitting this one out (second of a B-to-B).
We haven’t looked good but we’re hanging in so far. I’m not a fan of Deuce as a head guard and he hasn’t shown much so far. I’d really like to see Kolek get some run.
Watching the end of the quarter, I take it back. Maybe we should just iso OG every play. It can’t be uglier than what I just watched.
Wait am I hallucinating or did Bridges just take the ball to the basket?
KAT is 1-5, Deuce is 1-6. Mikal a silent 1-3. If they can start to play to the back of their cards, we win this. Remains to be seen.
One thing I forgot is that the D should at least be better without Brunson…
bridges looks like he can get to the basket whenever he wants…. with Brunson out go for it buddy, please
Mikal has woken up with a vengeance…
This Brunson injury might be a blessing in disguise, it obviously woke up Mikal Bridges.
Precious has those afterburners.
ess-dog might win the pot…
Geez, are Hart and Bridges just going to play the entire game?
glad mr hahn was telling us about how few turnovers knicks commit, and then 3 (4?) possessions were turned over.
So much for the defense improving without Brunson, it’s still fucking garbage.
Harden looking to add to his 50 point game resume
love that everyone identified Mikal as having the hot hand, and since then he hasn’t had one shot, and has touched the ball maybe once
Easy trivia today. It’s Giannis and Lillard.
I feel like this has been consistent throughout Thib’s tenure here. The team consistently refuses to ride the hot hand.
Turns out that letting opponents shoot 58% from 3 against you is bad regardless of who is on the floor.
They started slow, just like last night, but settled down and fought well. Unlike last night, however, the 3pt line defense has not been consistent. This has been the difference in the first half. Once you give the opponent open shots and they get into shooting rhythm, then they make contested shots as well.
Bridges played well. KAT has do better against Zubac!
They’re battling!
Please figure out who you’re supposed to guard in transition
so not punished, but why did deuce sit in the paint as if to double zubac and leave kawhi wide open? what is this defensive scheme
If we should happen to lose this game and Brunson is out for a few weeks this team may not win 50 games this year.
If you hit a guy in the face with the ball is that a foul?
2nd night of a back to back and Hart, Bridges, and OG are all going to play 40 minutes. I don’t care if we win this game I’m fucking done with Thibs.
Leaving guys wide open to double random players seems to be the defensive gameplan. Can’t argue with what works… I guess.
Harden is gonna probably put this game away at some point but I have no problem with the effort tonight
Lol, nice one by Achiuwa and the pass from Mikal. We need more of this Mikal
Why is Shamet on this team?
Jokic with another masterpiece tonight
He’s cheap and he’s friends with Cam and Mikal
Jokic with the first 30,20,20 game in NBA history
What more can you say about the guy?
Not impressed by the Clippers and it’s kind of frustrating to see the geriatrics of Batum, Harden, and Kawhi beating us. Unfortunately, our offense stalled again in the second half, decision making was poor, often leading to blocks and turnovers, and the Clippers 15 three-pointers killed us. They could have made more as they got tons of open shots.
I am very disappointed with KAT; I thought he’d step up. Alas. He is who he is on defense, but his offense also vanished since the finger injury.
I’m kind of shocked they were at least competitive tonight given the OT B2B loss and no Brunson. I know the offense struggled tonight but I think you could see signs that Mikal is capable of more if the ball moves and he actually gets it. It’s on Brunson and Thibs to fix this offense. We know the talent is there, but Thibs is an old dog and Brunson has issues with dribbling too much and trying to do too much.
I spend hours every day thinking about how best to get this team to the next level in the off season. I seem to change my mind every day about what the fix is even though the problems are clear.
I’m really disappointed we didn’t get to see Kolek tonight. Thibs is playing Shamet and Payne but he can’t give Kolek a few minutes at PG to see if he could run things a little better (he can).
