I wonder how the Philly will guard Brunson tonight. If I had to guess, they will revert to games 1-2 and see if Hart can beat them. It’s probably the better strategy. The thing is, I think Brunson has figured out the coverages and will punish them either way.

They really should close it out tonight and rest.

I don’t think the Celtics will lose a lot if they start Horford in place of Prozingis for awhile. Horford doesn’t score as much, but Tatum, Brown, Holiday and White should be able to make up most of the difference well enough. They’ll probably lose a little on offense and won’t be as deep, but I don’t think it will cost them this or the next round series. It might matter in the Finals if he’s not back by then.

Wasn’t Philly still ignoring Hart in game 3, when Brunson had his first real Brunson game?

Embiid missing game 3 was baked into my sweep prediction but alas he scored 50 points instead. With just one day of rest, coming off 44 minutes, it’s probable we’ll face an exhausted MVP but you never know. He has been uncharacteristically resilient in this series. I have to begrudgingly give him props for playing as much as he has (I thought he was done when he threw that ball off the backboard for the dunk). Instead of bolstering his reputation, though, he’s done the opposite with his dirty play. Tough luck, bitch.

I’d like to see Hartenstein get 100% of the Paul Reed minutes so we can really capitalize when Joel sits. We did it for 50% of Reed’s 4 minutes on Sunday and went on a 6-0 run during those 2 minutes, but we brought Precious in while Embiid was still sitting and the rest of Reed’s 4 minutes were a draw. Precious doesn’t need to be in to guard Paul Reed. Give iHart those extra 2 minutes, let him cook, then he can sit the remainder of 2Q while OG and Precious do their thing for the rest of the quarter.

What we really need tonight, though, is a vintage Donte DiVincenzo shooting game. He’s taking the whole redundancy thing a little too far by imitating IQ’s lousy playoff performances. I have not seen Philadelphia do anything in particular to negate his shooting; he seems to be missing open shots. That’s just my faulty memory, though, don’t hold me to it.

I don’t think Nurse will tinker all that much. He probably feels like every game has come down to making and missing. Maxey, Lowry, Oubre and Harris had some good looks and just missed. Embiid passed on a jumper he makes 100% of the time just to get blocked by Precious.

The one X factor for the Sixers is getting Melton back. He had nothing on Sunday but sometimes it just takes one game to shake off the cobwebs. I wouldn’t be shocked if Nurse starts him and brings Lowry off the bench, or if he starts Lowry but tries to get Melton in there for like 15-20 minutes. Lowry isn’t really a 30+ minute player any more, and Payne is only playable if he’s making shots.

Seems like the key in all of our wins was having an exhausted Embiid hobbling around in the 4th quarter. Hopefully Thibs will figure out how to make him run and move all game.

In any case, I worry that the Sixers will play desperate and that the refs might accommodate them. But I also expect the Knicks to be sharp and to feed off the crowd.

    Should be a great game!

Alan, I think game 3 is when the Sixers changed the coverage after Hart hit some early 3s. They are still sagging off Hart, but not ignoring him completely as they did earlier. That has created a tiny bit of space for Brunson, and that’s all he needs.

Donte is missing some shots, but Philly is doing a good job curtailing his volume. I’m pretty sure his 3pt shots/game are like half of what they were in the regular season.

I’m under so much stress in my personal life the last thing I need is Knicks playoff basketball in the evening after another tough day. I should be trying to relax. I know I won’t be able to resist, but I could really use a blowout tonight to keep me calm.

Nothing that the early double at Churchill Downs or Parx can’t fix…

Knicks trying to clinch a playoff series at MSG for the first time since the 1999 Conference Finals vs Indiana.

Strat, if it makes you feel any better, I’m under almost no stress in my life at the moment, but I literally couldn’t watch the last game between the second and fourth quarter because it was making me insane. Glad I tuned in again toward the end, but man.

Going to try and take a super zen approach today and see if I can pull it off. Like you I really hope for a blow-out for my own nerves, but welcome to the playoffs.

I’m under so much stress in my personal life the last thing I need is Knicks playoff basketball in the evening after another tough day.

Naturally this also shaped up to be the most stressful week of my (admittedly somewhat brief so far) career. I have given a lot to this god damn team, so they could return the favor by making tonight relatively bearable stress-wise. C’mon Donte, hit 8 threes or something!

Game 4 was nerve wracking, but it also put me in the best mood for what was perhaps the nicest weather day of the year in NYC.

strat — have a friend who gets too stressed at big games so watches on an hour+ delay to fast forward thru the downtime/stoppages. he claims it reduces the tension build up a ton.

We just need another Pags tour de force

I see him as our resident Cassandra! 😀

Ranger home playoff games are next to impossible for me to watch on TV — much easier going. Knicks home playoff games not quite as bad but still very tough to watch.

A bit easier for road games, but if you get to like Games 6 and 7, very difficult. Rangers blitzed Carolina in a road Game 7 a couple years ago, couldn’t really watch until the game was in the bag early in the third.

At least for me it’s much easier to go, but cost a factor. I was at ’22 Rangers/Penguins Game 7 that went to OT; that would have been a virtually impossible watch on TV.

    Weird dynamic.

I do the same when watching live. Honestly, it kinda works.

How come the refs didn’t force a game 6 in Denver last night? They had lots of opportunities, it being a 2 point back-and-forth game all night. No one would have even noticed.

They tried Donnie, free throws Lakers 27 Denver 9.

Three times the number of FTs on the road and it wasn’t enough, without the refs it would have been a 20-points loss for the POS in purple and gold.

Edit: to be fair I’ve nothing (or just a little) against the Lakers players, I just hate their fans 😀

The stress of a playoff game is what makes it fun!

My working theory is that this fits into an unfortunate psychological pattern some people show (*) wherein life’s losses are way more bad than the wins are good.

And in turn, the psychology of the crowd (**) helps to dampen that — thus the vast difference between in person and home on TV.

(*) Actually, I think it’s not just some people, but instead a relatively common thing.

(**) And the beer doesn’t hurt, either.

“Looks like Embiid is now dealing with a migraine headache.”

Maybe the fans at MSG should try to be quiet so it doesn’t hurt so much…

Sports are entertainment! Of course when you’re as invested in it as we are it’s funner and more satisfying when your team wins but real life is alot more stressful than watching sports. Although you probably couldn’t tell that by my comments during game threads lol

Looks like Embiid is now dealing with a migraine headache.

Jeez that could be serious. Migraines are no joke.

The stress of a playoff game is what makes it fun!

I’m also having a tough run right now, but the “game stress” still feels like an escape to me… not to mention, it’s great to have a very tough, likable team to root for.

Speaking of which, have yall seen that pic going around of Thibs pumping his own gas? It’s priceless… wearing the same practice sweats, same worried look on his face… I can’t help but love the guy.

To me the stress for these games is becoming higher and higher with age and part of this is Knicks’ fault, I think we deserve some easy blowout wins here and there…

There is some sort of link between migraines and Bell’s palsy so I guess that’s not surprising. Joel should prioritize his health and sit this one out.

The Sixers are already building a Chinese Wall of excuses “just in case”: the Whiny Queen has migraine, Oubre is sick, my cousin slept too much, my car has a flat tire, my dog ate my homeworks…

I rant, cuss* and scream at the screen and thus, I have been banished from watching the games at home.
    * When Embiid tackled Mitch, I screamed “What the f**K” thereby incurring a double T. It was cathartic.

I have a hard time watching games but it does help the Knicks are much tougher than I am….

The Rangers cup win took the edge off most playoff watches the last 30 years (Philly in 1997 being the exception). Prior to that, Ranger playoff games had a life and death feel that is very similar to these current Knicks and certain Yankee/Red Sox games. Delayed watching and score peeking is one way to handle this emotional nightmare.

I usually score peek on ESPN or SI. Lead gets healthy enough, then I’ll watch.

Looks like Embiid is now dealing with a migraine headache.

Seems like everything this guy has to deal with gets a press release. I’m half expecting a “milk in Embiid’s latte too hot” headline on the wire later.

They tried Donnie, free throws Lakers 27 Denver 9.

Wow! That’s just an unbelievable disparity for a road team.

I hope that crew isn’t on their way to NY tonight.

    * When Embiid tackled Mitch, I screamed “What the f**K” thereby incurring a double T. It was cathartic.

trash call. if screaming wtf at that play was a double tech i would be in rikers.

The second home game was so exciting I was yelling at the TV. My son’s girlfriend was here and apparently heard me because later she asked my son if I was watching the Los Angeles game. She is actually from LA. I guess that was the only game possibility that occurred to her.

I have an 11-month baby and a 5-year old son, who were both in bed by the end of Game 2. I had already received a tech from my wife during Game 1 when I screamed at one of Hart’s three pointers, and I am not sure how I was not thrown out once Divo’s shot went in, but I managed to keep quiet.

But the Knicks are still nothing compared to me watching Brazil in the World Cup.

Years of overseas living and games that start in the middle of the night have taught me to perfect the art of the silent screaming celebration.

I too like a bit of time delay – just a few minutes. It takes the edge off.

Can’t wait to witness the Great Migraine Game.

My favorite usage of time delayed viewing is to fast forward through opponents’ free throws. Drives me nuts to watch them, even more than sitting through the same six commercials over and over.

(Live sports and Jeopardy reruns on Pluto are basically the only time I see commercials anymore.)

I’m all for the blowout win, but only because of the health of y’all.
I really don’t like blowouts, even if it’s the Knicks winning. What i like is what we’ve been having… a tough game, with no double digit leads, that’ll go until the last possession.

Bogey listed as out according to what I see. I also believe that there is a legitimate chance that Embiid actually sits this one out.

But that’s as of noon. We all know how the status of Embiid could possibly change over the course of the next seven hours.

Bogey was listed as out yesterday. Oubre is sick, but is listed as probable with an illness.

I can deal with us playing seven guys if it means a win and a long break until we play the winner of Pacers-Bucks. Give Mitch and Bogey more time to heal for the next round. But if we’re not closing it out tonight, I’m worried about the rotation being so short.

Leon finished 4th in Executive of the Year, after Stevens, Presti, and Tim Connelly.

I would have put him 2nd.

What did Presti do besides trade for Gordon Hayward and take Chet off the injured list?

Oubre being sick maybe helps them. I am so glad we have never employed him. He might win the Nick Young award for most infuriating. player.

I would agree he should have been second. Presti and Connelly are largely being rewarded for things they did in previous seasons.

Agree with all that is being said about Presti/Connelly, etc. In the big picture, though, let’s all remember that the only thing anyone will remember is that Stevens won it this year, if they even remember that.

I feel like we should be able to do better than “Fuck Embiid” tonight. It doesn’t really say anything other than “I’m angry!”

I propose a good old fashioned long winded “looooooser” sing song when he’s at the line. Let’s brand the MF and get in his head.

I wish we had songs like in football (the round kind). We could be doing stuff like Jo-el Jo-el Jo-el Jo-el… that dirty bastard can eff to to hell.

I’m partial to the taunting long vowel of “Scaaaaahhhhhhtttteeeeee” employed against Pippen whenever he lined up to shoot free throws or complained to the refs, etc.

So … maybe … “Joellleeeeeeeeeee”? IMO this kind of implies the guy is a whining sack much more than “Fuck Embiid” does.

As for blowout, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE yes PLEASE basketball gods. I want time for our guys to heal and re-group a bit.

Knicks in 5. Make it so.

people. the answer was right in front of you just a few threads ago.

    glass joe.

I wish we had songs like in football (the round kind). We could be doing stuff like Jo-el Jo-el Jo-el Jo-el… that dirty bastard can eff to to hell.

Or we can swap Embiid for Arsenal in the classic “same old Arsenal, always cheating.”

Or we can swap Embiid for Arsenal in the classic “same old Arsenal, always cheating.”

Oh dear, i think there’s Arsenal fans among us! 😛

Can’t find it now but a few days ago someone used a term similar to “Cancerous Queenbitch!” I think that would make a fantastic foul shot chant.

It might shock him so much he misses. And if it makes him laugh, even better — you can’t whistle when you’re laughing, either.

I rant, cuss* and scream at the screen and thus, I have been banished from watching the games at home.

oh, this is just too freaking funny Bo…

back in the 90’s sports used to really work me up…

now I have to be super careful about triggering myself in to some anxiety episode…

basically the last couple of games I’ve been watching the score on the computer, and will turn the game on towards the end…

Executive of the Year is a weird award. Do you give Presti credit for drafting Williams and Chet the year he picked them? Well you don’t know how good they’re going to be. Do you give him credit now? Well he didnt’ actual do anything this year

I’m all for the blowout win, but only because of the health of y’all.
I really don’t like blowouts, even if it’s the Knicks winning. What i like is what we’ve been having… a tough game, with no double digit leads, that’ll go until the last possession.

Blowout wins are like missionary sex with your spouse.

Game 4 was sex with a smoking hot partner after a couple months dating.

Game 2 was consensual angry, slightly intoxicated sex with your two year on-again, off-again supermodel fling

I honestly don’t know what to make of this! We seem to have no business beating this team. We’ve been down double digits in most of the games, and we’ve probably been trailing for 75%+ of the time. By the numbers they’ve had the best two players in the series. They are killing us in scoring efficiency. Yet here we are, up 3-1!

Game 4 was frustrating in the moment because of Embiid’s endless FT parade, but upon re-watching it was immensely satisfying to watch our Maestro just vivisect them. Our 4th quarter defense was a thing of beauty, and it looks like the OG/Precious tandem might be the real answer to Embiid.

Of course, a letdown is inevitable so this game today can only be a blowout loss. Brunson will be hampered by his bruised knee and throw up another stinker in the vein of G1-2. Our role players will complete their regression to the mean with a sub-30% shooting performance. A vintage DDV shooting game is especially impossible and there is no chance of him hitting a bunch of threes.

Embiid will heroically play through his migraine to the tune of 60 points on 30+ FTA, often stopping to theatrically grab his head in obvious pain or cheap-shot a Knicks player in frustration, which the broadcast crew will excuse and sympathize with in real-time. The “migraine game” will become a huge sports media meme, instantly rehabilitating Embiid’s reputation and sparking a Sixers rally that carries them through to impressive wins in game 6 and 7.

Since we are doomed as stated above, may as well enjoy the moment, where things are looking reasonably good!

I’ll be at the garden tonight. Section 207. In my John Starks jersey. With my best friend from highschool, another good buddy from college, and my work buddy. The Knicks have brought us all together. Hope they clinch!

    glass joe.

This is why we need soccer songs in America. To the tune of Hey Jude…

Glass Joel, don’t make it bad.
Commit a flagrant, and make it better
Remember to flail your arms in the air
Then the refs start to make it better

What happens if MSG starts chantng tonight “You’ll never walk alone”.

    “Cancerous Queenbitch!”

It’s Cancerous Superbitch to be precise!

Watching Live, posting here, drinking beers, eating snacks and not working or not having to wake up for work is My Ideal but ain’t happening often lately …

    Pags,

It only seems that way because Philly has jumped out ahead in the first quarter. But if you actually look at it, it’s been even and we’ve been ahead a lot too.

Game 1 – Philly jumps ahead in the first quarter. Largest lead is 14. Knicks pull even in the 2nd quarter and then pull ahead in the 2nd. Largest lead by the knicks is 13. 3rd quarter knicks are ahead for the first part of it. Philly pulls even about halfway through and it’s pretty even until about the 7 minute mark when the Knicks are ahead the rest of the way (only a little bit but still).

Game 2 – Philly is ahead basically the whole first half but only up 3 at halftime. Knicks pull ahead in the 3rd. Lead for most of the 4th until about the 4 minute mark Philly pulls ahead a bit and then we all know what happened at the end.

Game 3 – This one the Knicks and Philly were basically even the entire first half and the Knicks were actually up by 5 at half time. Philly has the huge 3rd quarter and then Knicks are never able to catch back up.

Game 4 – similar to game one. Philly jumps out ahead in the first half. It’s very close at halftime. Even in the 3rd quarter. Knicks pull ahead in the 4th and never relinquish the lead.

So yeah, Philly has jumped out ahead and has gotten into double digit leads but double digit leads mean nothing in the NBA today. I think 14 is the most they’ve ever been ahead. Knicks just haven’t had some game where they jumped out ahead and led the whole way. But the games have all followed a very similar pattern except for game 3 with philly getting ahead early, knicks evening it up in the 2nd or 3rd and then pulling ahead in the 4th.

Executive of the Year is a really weird award because almost all high quality executive-ing is the product of multiple years of work. Stevens is the only one who really stands out as having done exceptional work this year.

I don’t mind “fuck Embiid” because unlike the Trae Young stuff it doesn’t feel remotely forced. It is a visceral expression of disgust for the garbage we’ve seen from the guy. It developed mid-series for that very reason.

If Embiid and Oubre are compromised we should really step on their throats while we can. Come out guns blazing, run them off the floor, make it a laugher. That kind of thing.

    Precious Precious!

    Farfa – We missed you

Lebron opting out apparently. Perhaps it’s time to cement his legacy by taking the veterans minimum in New York?

Basketball reference has under his list of nicknames “Troel Embiid” which made me laugh. Seems like that one should get more traction.

“With the 25th pick in the draft, the New York Knicks incinerate Bronny James of the University of Southern California.”

    Dear Pagliacci,

Alone do you cast as you drift on your way,
A dark, brooding shade on the jubilant day.

    Sincerely,

    Alexandr Pushkin

    Dear Raven,

I do what I must to protect us. After Game 3 I vowed, never again will I shirk my duty to this team.

Because I can take it. Because I’m not not our hero. I’m a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

Because I can take it. Because I’m not not our hero. I’m a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

I appreciate the work you do for us.

Pass on LeBron but what about Davis? At 31 and with his injury history I’m inclined to say no but if LeBron’s gone he’ll be on the market and I’m sure we’ll check in.

EDIT: Jesus, he has a three year, $205mm extension kicking in before his age 33 season. He’s making $70MM in his age 35 season. What were you thinking, Lakers?

Because I can take it. Because I’m not not our hero. I’m a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

You’re doing a great job Pags, keep it rolling.

FWIW, I’ve never heard of this site before, and the actual text looks like it was written by ChatGPT, so… hopefully it’s just some clout-chasing idiot.

Jesus, he has a three year, $205mm extension kicking in before his age 33 season. He’s making $70MM in his age 35 season. What were you thinking, Lakers?

That’s all Lebron. He’s a coach killer, terrible GM, and constant whiner. Small potatoes, but they are going to blow a 2nd round pick on his son next even though they desperately need some quality depth.

“Looks like Embiid is now dealing with a migraine headache.”

Is there any way we can smuggle some strobe lights into MSG and aim them at him?

With that extension I can’t imagine a considerable bidding war for his services. If Leon wants him, he shouldn’t have to sell the farm.

Is there any way we can smuggle some strobe lights into MSG and aim them at him?

Probably not but whoever controls the music needs to bump it up another notch and maybe only throw in some really annoying songs like who let the dawgs out, etc.

If Embiid actually sits I feel like he is done in philly forever.

The best possible end to this series involves Embiid tapping out.

    NO MERCY!

Not seeing any corroboration of the Bojan thing outside the the report by the extremely fake sounding “Bruno Feliks.”

Anyone seen a more reliable source?

Stephen A Smith called him Trey Burks today. I can’t stand the guy either but props for taking our bit national.

Stephen A Smith called him Trey Burks today. I can’t stand the guy either but props for taking our bit national.

He only gets credit if it’s intentional. The guy who still thinks Quentin Grimes plays for our team does not deserve to be counted among us.

Only bit on Bogey I’ve seen was Macri saying “Bojan Bogdanovic is OUT with what the Knicks are calling a left foot contusion.”

Are we taking Alec Burks out of mothballs?

I can’t imagine that Burks gets out of the dungeon unless there’s another injury on the wing or in the backcourt. Thibs will play seven guys if he has to. If Mitch is back, that’s eight. Precious can’t provide what Bogey does on offense, but, like a poor man’s Josh Hart, he does so much else on the court. And Bogey shot poorly in the first three games, though the ones he hit felt huge at the time.

If he’s out, that sucks, and that’s basically the last of our depth. (Unless you count Jericho Sims, I guess, but even Thibs isn’t maniac enough to play that guy unless, like, three bigs are hurt at once.)

Plot twist: Bruno Feliks is actually Alec Burks trying to engineer some playing time for himself.

    May he never succeed!

Imagine Alex Burps on Embiid at some point in the game. The ultimate humiliation.

Pagluacci, I actually think you were optimistic. At the end of the last game the Knicks put OG on Embiid and changed the way they guarded him (fronting him to deny the entry pass) at the same time. The Sixers were tired and didn’t know how to adjust. But you can bet Nurse will have worked up some way to work around that sort of defense for game five.

Pagluacci, I actually think you were optimistic. The Knicks put OG on Embiid and changed the way they guarded him (fronting him to deny the entry pass) at the same time. The Sixers were tired and didn’t know how to adjust. But you can bet Nurse will have worked up some way to work around that sort of defense for game five.

You’re absolutely right. That’s why I predicted the 60-point migraine game tonight!

2 reasons why the crippled knicks are beating the cocky sixers so far are Conditioning and Motivation.
    Energy ain’t lying

This Embiid migraine thing is absolutely fucking hilarious, the big choker is already setting up the narrative for his excuse 8 hours before the game.

He does this shit every single time, but now Doc, Simmons and Harden are all gone and everybody with eyes can see how good Maxey is, so there’s no scapegoats left. His team puts out the migraine story to the media, he misses a useless shoot around, and now if he loses he has the excuse locked, or if he wins they’ll peddle the “Embiid migraine game”.

    I can’t stand this guy.

Bogey done for the season. He’s having surgery on his wrist and foot.

Ugh, that AI generated Bogey article turned out to be true. Shams just confirmed it. Fucking hell! It’s infuriating we can’t even put out the best sans-Randle version of this team.

I think you keep Burks in the dungeon tonight but if we somehow survive the 60-point migraine game and make it to the next round we probably have to use him against the Pacers.

Who knows, maybe all the time off helped. He was uncharacteristically terrible.

what about shake milton..isn’t he on the bench…he’s gotta be better than alec “l left my manhood back in the locker room” burks..

There are a lot of red flags surrounding Embiid’s mental makeup. The guy is great and he would take us to another level but I feel certain he will always disappoint.

    #hubieknew

Damn, so we essentially traded Grimes and two 2nds for an expiring. So be it.

Not surprising about Bojan, it did not look good at all when it happened. I’m more surprised that it took this long to confirm.

You would think Burks would be first, yes. I bet everyone just plays more minutes, though.

Damn, so we essentially traded Grimes and two 2nds for an expiring. So be it.

That may have been what bumped Leon out of the top 3.

    Some more details:

    @IanBegley
Knicks announce Bojan Bogdanovic’s upcoming left foot surgery and say he will be re-evaluated in 3 months.

Shitty news about Bojan. They should let us have Bogdan for the rest of the playoffs

We were afraid of playing Bam and the Sixers took out Bogey and Mitch.

I think Batum’s gotten too much of a pass, btw. It wasn’t as bas as Embiid grabbing Mitch but you don’t dive into player’s legs.

Who knows, maybe all the time off helped. He was uncharacteristically terrible.

I think he had some sort of shoulder injury? Maybe he’s healed up a bit or something, probably the best we can hope for

Since when is immediate surgery needed for just a bruise?

It’d hurt more of Bojan had played well but this sucks…

When people ask “why would you get 2 guys who do the same thing?!”

    This. This is why.

If anything, Achiuwa will get backup PG minutes. There’s also the distinct chance multiple guys go 48

Maybe Bojan fractured his foot. Bone bruises and fractures have basically the same symptoms and you need an x-ray to tell the difference.

Losing him is tough. Now even more responsibility falls on Brunson. He’s great enough to shoulder the load, but our margin of error just got narrower.

    @ShamsCharania
Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis has a right soleus strain. He will miss Game 5 vs. Miami on Wednesday.

Luka’s knee was heavily wrapped at practice today, Kawhi hobbled again… this year’s playoffs are a real war of attrition.

    Edited to add:

    @InStreetClothes
Re: Porzingis: KP suffered the same injury that is currently keeping Giannis sidelined. As I mentioned then, the soleus is a part of the calf muscle complex. The average time lost for strains specified as a soleus injury is ~17 days (6 games).

17 days would be shit luck for us but that seems like an extremely aggressive recovery time.

Porzingis will sit out most of the ECSF, rest, and be back healthy for the ECF against the Knicks. Celtics’ odds in Vegas barely budged — +115 to +125.

“Em Beed Cheats” kinda subs in nicely for MVP at the foul line.

I like it. But this is the line of the thread so far:

They should let us have Bogdan for the rest of the playoffs

Porzingis will sit out most of the ECSF, rest, and be back healthy for the ECF against the Knicks.

Giannis suffered the same injury on April 9 (precisely 3 weeks ago) and there is no timetable for his return.

In 2019 Kevin Durant suffered the same injury and came back in 4 weeks, and that turned out to be a terrible mistake.

Porzingis ain’t coming back unless the Celtics make it to the finals without him.

Now we just need them to lose Hauser (he’s their Bojan) and Horford (Mitch) and we’re all even.

I feel like hoping for opponent injuries has the same bad juju as ducking potential playoff opponents. Let’s keep playing the teams and players in front of us, and let’s keep exceeding everyone’s (except, seemingly, the Knicks players themselves) expectations.

Luka’s knee was heavily wrapped at practice today, Kawhi hobbled again… this year’s playoffs are a real war of attrition.

It’s kind of feeling like the year Toronto won, though OKC and Minnesota are pretty healthy.

I fully expect Embiid to embrace the villain role tonight and give the “bring it on” hands signal when he’s booed.

Me and 19,000+ other fans will gladly oblige

Just logged on, and the first post I read is from Doogie (with which I completely agree). Let’s win the right way.

And, yes, it does feel like that Toronto year. We just might sneak one.

    EDIT: DMAR REPRESENT!! What jersey?

I feel like hoping for opponent injuries has the same bad juju as ducking potential playoff opponents.

My fault, I’m not actually rooting for them to lose Hauser and Horford. I just said that to show how uneven the injury playing field currently is.

Porzingis you can root for to get hurt, though, because he’s literally a rapist.

So KP might miss Boston’s second round series but be back for the Eastern Conference Finals. It’s very very Knicksy.

“…….this year’s playoffs are a real war of attrition”

But we say this *every* year, don’t we? (Playoff) injuries are very much a part of the game.

Might need burks for more shooting to step up but man is he a black hole that just hijacks the offense and has an incredible knack for getting scored on … I’d say give him a light test and pull immediately if he’s not passing and doing other high IQ things

That’s pretty much Bojan in a nutshell, too, though. He just hit some of his shots.

I’d be willing to try Burks or Shake on very, very, very, very short leashes. Did I mention “very”?

I think Batum’s gotten too much of a pass, btw. It wasn’t as bas as Embiid grabbing Mitch but you don’t dive into player’s legs.

Stop it and stop whining! There was a loose ball…. 2 guys went for it. Had Bogey not reflexively grabbed Batum’s hand on the way to the ball he likely would have landed in a slightly different place. In the playoffs, you dive for any loose ball.
