I rarely have strong opinions on the draft because I don’t watch much college hoops. But I will say this. If Edey is available, we should take him. He will succeed in the pros. The knocks against him could all be applied to Jokic and look how drafting him turned out. (Jokic was drafted 41, by the way, probably with similar worries that people have about Edey) Like Mitch, Edey can stay near the basket and get rebounds and block shots, but he also can score like crazy from near the basket. And he is a smart player who can pass. His work ethic is excellent from what I’ve read. The current Knicks win with a center who doesn’t shoot threes. They could win with Edey too.

Was just listening to Vecenie’s mock draft on his pod, and he had us taking Edey with our first pick. His reasoning was that he thinks someone will throw big money at Hartenstein.

We’re all worried about losing iHart, but I still am not sure who’s going to make a $25 mil/ year offer

I am pro-Edey and would be excited if we drafted him, but if it’s at the cost of iHart I can’t abide that at all. iHart is absolutely essential to every positive thing we do on both ends. I’d be content with an offseason in which we keep that dude, make some draft picks, and call it a day.

Detroit has money to burn. Even with Duren, they might want to overpay for iHart.

They could, but they have so many other needs – who’s going to see iHart as the missing piece? It seems unlikely with Duren and Stewart. It seems unlikely with Chet.

my sleeper pick for isaiah and his missus is still the magic kingdom…

I know that got wendel, who’s pretty good – Isaiah’s better though and provides them with depth…

I will say that’s my one worry, Geo. I can’t see Detroit even making the offer, but if they did, it’s such a shitty team I could see him declining it to stay in NY at $16 mil AAV. OKC won’t offer. But the Magic are good, and if they really wanted him, he might be gone.

But if I’m one of those teams, I’m worried about $25 mil in a player with a tricky Achilles who maybe can’t play more than 30 mpg safely. And who isn’t a stretch 5, but a high post distributor. If I’m the Magic, I focus on a lead guard – a bigger need. But who knows?

There’s really no one else good and in their prime who is available. Oubre? Malik Monk? D’Angelo Russell? They’re all older than iHart. Christ, Grayson Allen might be the hottest name on the market.

I was just looking at the Magic, too, Geo. Sure they need a lead guard, but maybe they sign iHart and use Carter in the package to get one.

    But I also agree w rama here…

But if I’m one of those teams, I’m worried about $25 mil in a player with a tricky Achilles who maybe can’t play more than 30 mpg safely.

What makes OKC dangerous is they can offer him high AAV for less years and average his cost down with what they’re saving on Chet & Jalen. It’s similar to how we can afford to carry Hart at $18mm bc we’re only paying Brunson $24mm.

I don’t see another team that can do that, though, which is why I think rama’s right.

If you guys in NY felt a tremor it wasn’t another earthquake it was just Stanton absolutely destroying a baseball.

Cavs been struggling lately, Mitchell sitting out 2nd game of a back to back and the Clippers give up 80 pts to them in the 1st half.

After sitting out last game not surprisingly Giannis is playing tonight.

Two instances of load management late in the season from teams in the same race as us. I guess that’s why we’re in 2nd place and they’re chasing us.

Cavs just blew a 26 pt 2nd half lead, Knicks can pass them in the standings with a win tonight.

My heart felt like we’d win but my head sees a clear bounce back game for the Bucks.

    Unfortunately my heart is dumb.
