    @ShamsCharania:
Free agent 7-footer Neemias Queta is finalizing a two-way NBA contract with the Boston Celtics, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Queta spent the past two seasons with the Kings, who drafted him in the second round in 2021.

Won’t be easy to root for him this time around, but hey, i wish him the best and i’m happy he’s still in the NBA.

Actually you should root hard for him, as it would mean something not good going on with their establishments bigs!

Meanwhile, the Taj redux fever dream is over, he signed a 1year $3.2M deal to return to Wiz. I guess that’s more than the vet’s minimum and Leon/Brock weren’t interested in going above that.

Isn’t $3.2 million likely what the vet minimum is for a guy who’s been in the league as long as Taj?

Last season, the minimum for Taj on his 2nd season with a team would’ve been $3.05M so yeah it’s probably the minimum or very slightly above.

For a player with 10+ years, the minimum salary this year is $3,196,448. That is the last line on the grid. This is Taj’s 15th season–if he goes for 16 he should lobby for a 15+ years line on the grid.

Thanks, seems fair but I’m so used to it being a smaller amount. So now I wonder if Taj just preferred to stay in WAS or if the Knicks just weren’t interested….it seems like he would be a great fit with our situation and that at this stage he’d prefer to be with a winning team…

I think if they signed Taj he would slot inside of Sims, which would not be a good message to the younger players who the team invested in. If you see the need to upgrade Sims, go with someone young with even more upside—a message every young player knows is in the cards.

BE, Taj is a PF by trade, and has recently developed some 3-pt range. I know he has mostly played C in the last 4 years, but that was more situational than anything else. On the Knicks, I would say that he’s be used only to the degree that RJ and Hart are not cutting it. Sims is more of a 3rd string pure 5 who can swing to the 4 in a pinch but gives you nothing there offensively. But maybe the Knicks are either okay with the options they have or still looking for a better option than Taj. Or maybe they just think that Taj is washed…

It’s also possible that Taj just didn’t want to be a continual DNP-CD and saw more opportunity for playing time with WAS.

    Either way, no big deal.

Yeah, on that front i’m rooting for him. And i have to say with RWIII and KP in front of him (and maybe Kornet too), i’m hoping Queta can get minutes. They always miss games due to injury.

    “Taj is a C”

This is simply not true. If you look at Taj’s career stats, he has played 76% of his 22,000+ career minutes at PF. He is 6’9″ and 232 lbs.

I expected some regression from the Giants, even with the seeming talent upgrades at a number of positions. I didn’t expect them to suddenly be incapable of playing competent football at any phase of the game. My god, it’s bad.

It’s morning here and I just woke up. The Giants actually won, despite being down by three touchdowns in the third quarter. I’m happy about it, but suspicious it’s a fluke.

The Jets lost big, but I’m still thinking the Jets need to upgrade their offensive line before they upgrade their quarterback.

The Cardinals are supposed to be the worst team in the league, but so far it looks as though rumors of their demise have been greatly exaggerated

I’m assuming you got those numbers from bbref? They also say he’s played 100%, 98%, 90%, and 82% of his minutes at C the last 4 seasons.

Yeah, I guess that proves he’s a C. Whatever, not worth arguing about.
