Look, this fantasizing about Anthony Davis is nice and all, but the best Knicks beat writer of this century is writing a book about the 90s Knicks:

    @Herring_NBA

Excited to share some news. In the process of writing my first book for @simonschuster. The tentative title: Blood on the Hardwood: The Flagrant History of the 1990s New York Knicks.

Give it to me now now now.

That it’s being announced now likely means it’s at least a year away, if not two, unfortunately. Books happen slooooowly.

we are fucking definitely trading for marquese chriss. i don’t know how he’s not here already.

KP hates Chriss so I hope that’s enough to dissuade the Knicks brain trust from yet another fizzled lotto pick

The Stefan Bondy article on Carmelo’s MSG ovation had a completely nonsensical lede.

As the saying goes, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

For the Knicks and their fans, that applies to a lot of their former players (ahem, Patrick Ewing), and was relevant again Sunday when Carmelo Anthony returned to the Garden to a raucous ovation.

We don’t know what we’ve got until it’s gone? Since Melo left NY, he immediately cratered into one of the worst players in the league. Oh yes, please Melo, we were so wrong to trade you, please come back and save our franchise. I’m so sorry we insulted you with that max contract and no-trade clause. If only we’d appreciated the way you led us to one playoff series win in 6.5 seasons!

    WTF is Bondy talking about???

Mills will offer Knox, Frank, Mitch, Trier, and our 2019 pick for AD. If the Pelicans refuse, he’ll offer the same package for Chriss.

bondy’s like adrien broner. he watched his idols and learned the part about trolling for eyeballs but missed the rest.

I like Bondy. He’s what Isola could have been if he wasn’t just a disgruntled curmudgeon. I don’t want all homers. I want a guy that tells unpopular truths and is willing to criticize when appropriate but without the clear cut agenda against specific people (like Isola used to be). That said, if you are saying anything negative about the Knicks moving past Melo, you are on the wrong side of that debate. As bad as Kanter is and despite the pain in the ass he has become, the Melo of the last 2 years is a lot worse.

Fisdale saying a lot of very positive (and correct) things about Frank and his future in NY.

listening to fiz talk on https://www.msgnetworks.com/videos/fizdale-we-put-ourselves-in-some-bad-situations/

not sure if that’s the interview your referencing strat…it’s hard to read fiz correctly cuz he tends to blow sunshine up everyone’s ass…

who knows what the exact plan is with the front office and coaching staff and how it relates to rotations and minutes played…

if there’s been a season long development strategy for frank – it’s hard to see…i understand there was a time where they were giving him some run at the three, but, i just don’t get why he’s only averaging 21 minutes a game (about the same as last year)…

Who was the poster who said he was cutting the cord and couldn’t watch Knicks games anymore? I want to make sure my comment got through to him. Was it chrisZIPCODE?

instead of focusing on AD, why not just offer Frank and kanter to Jrue Holiday?

I mean you can offer whatever you want but unless you turned on “Force Trades” you’re not actually achieving anything.

if you wanna call a team mediocre – i present the charlotte hornets…a truly mediocre team…

however, one thing i did notice during an earlier hornets/knicks game this year – one area in which charlotte really excels in: their cheerleading squad – the honey bees…holy cow, they’re gorgeous…

i have a strong inclination that mister jordan has a hand in their selection…wow, no doubt they may have the best/most attractive squad in the league…

Mitch is not treating our last second round pick turned KB sweetheart very nicely

Mitch Lob is our only player worth watching

Trier has his moments but yeah when Mitch was out this team approached 2014-2015 Knicks levels of watchability (that team’s second most common lineup was L. Amundson | A. Bargnani | L. Galloway | S. Larkin | L. Thomas).

Trier and Mitch are secretly in love that’s the only explanation for their beautiful chemistry

Monk looks so bad out there. I liked him a lot coming out of college too. Surprised by how ineffective he has been.

Who was the poster who said he was cutting the cord and couldn’t watch Knicks games anymore? I want to make sure my comment got through to him. Was it chrisZIPCODE?

It was me. but, apparently my cable company isn’t smart enough to immediately turn off my access to their Roku app, so shhhh. then again, it means i’m watching this mess

You may or may not be able to watch decent quality streams of any NBA game you want for free on reddit 😉

I hate saying this, but I wish AD would not have opened his mouth. Dolan might bite.

How has Cam Reddish barely budged on mocks despite being one of the worst NCAA players I’ve ever seen? I’m not limiting that to high recruits–he’s been awful by any standard.

Also replacing Kanter’s minutes with Mitch Rob has been great for watchability, and likely a net plus overall when development is taken into account, but could hurt the tank somewhat significantly.

it’s funny how many of us went from: oh wow, he mentioned the knicks – to – okay then, let’s just give them everything we got (which ain’t a lot) to get AD – to – yeah, trading for AD probably wouldn’t work out to well for us in the long run…

unless by some miracle we get two all star level players to join our roster for the 2019-2020 season – we are a couple of years away from being a couple of years away…

If Frank works his ass off for the next 5 years, he might become as good as Kadeem Allen…

    @12

Fizdale said he didn’t think Frank’s defense deteriorated this year. He said some of the stats were misleading and related to the younger lineups he’s playing with. There are a lot more defensive breakdowns that partially get attributed to him when it’s not his fault.

He also said that once they have their scorers, they will need a versatile team oriented distributor on the court that can make winning plays on both sides to compliment them. That how the Knicks are thinking about Frank now. They view him as a player that makes winning plays.

Is it me or is Hezonja playing a little better on both sides lately?

i agree w/ clyde that Monk has infinite range. but, i’m not sure he’s provocative. are their stats on that?

Robinson alone makes this team worth watching. I don’t know if he’ll ever look as smooth as Davis or Chandler in space, but damn he is good.

Also I could see him setting a record for most goaltends in a game, so there’s a sideshow angle to it, too.

Stratomatic "I'm tired of the Knicks paying lip service to DEFENSE. Get defenders & two-way players. Then play them!says:

Yeah, if Robinson can improve his balance and footwork a little and then add a little more on offense beyond dunking he can be a very very good player. As is, if he can just get past some of the greenness and fouling issues he’s already good.

Allen is 26, which is much older than I was thinking he was. And Breen keeps saying this is his first NBA game but he did play garbage minutes for Boston last year in 18 games. And one start?

Whoa, that turnover by Vonleh was dogshit. Stagnant offense. Dude was dribbling in the low post waiting for someone to get in motion… and they were all standing still.

Went to get some beans going in the instant pot and it seems the Knicks fell apart while I was busy
