Don’t get me wrong..I love the Knicks. But..if Hornacek ends up a scapegoat, I may seriously consider giving up on them. You have a good coach looking over his shoulder at a guy who was forced on his coaching staff, all the while dealing with 2 primadonna point guards who talk better than they play. On top of that, I believe that it was a mandate from Big Chief Triangle that Coach plays 25 after the AWOL thing. Plus this guy gets to yell at and seemingly ignore the coach, plus he and Jennings are allowed to throw the coach under the bus in the media with no repercussions? Something is terribly wrong. Has to be.

After thinking about it, I am happy Rose ended up playing after his little temper tantrum. His very presence in our lineup makes us more apt to lose out games.

I really hope that Hornacek has the mettle to keep starting Baker and putting Melo at the 4. I also hope that he has Jennings and Rose on *very* short leashes, given their personalities and their basketball productivity. I also hope that he has the cachet to not get fired for doing so.

Can we just trade for Rubio? He’s a relatively high character guy who keeps his head down and doesn’t fly to Chicago due to some disturbance in the quantum mechanical spacetime manifold. He’s also far, far, far better than any of our current guards. If Minnesota could be nice enough to throw Tyus Jones in there for us, well, that would be great too.

    Perchance to dream.

No trades to upgrade. Only trades to degrade and get some picks. Are you guys in it to lose it or what? We’re so close to our goal of a top 10 lottery pick already.

I wonder if it’s a coincidence that a week after Rose goes AWOL and not only escapes any suspension but starts the next game that the sniping that was likely going on behind the scenes has now spilled over into public / social media. If someone abandons his team and isn’t suspended, then what is a suspend-able offense? Do you have to Sprewell someone? The lack of accountability is just astounding, and it starts at the top with Phil Jackson. Yes, with Dolan too, but I’ll blame Phil Jackson 10x more than Dolan for this mess.

Re: Hornacek – I generally like what he’s done but it feels a little worrisome that his last season in Phoenix also had a minor mutiny. Seems strange for a guy who seemed like such a fiery competitor as a player that he can’t control a team as a coach.

Interesting stuff on Hahn/Humpty yesterday, mostly from Chris Canty, who is much more down on Melo than the other two. Not sure if he has sources or is just emoting on what he sees on the court, but he seems to think that Melo is breaking the offense far more often than is readily apparent at least to my eyes — and that it’s Melo’s awful defensive effort and constant breaking of the offense that has the team rebelling — that the superstar is not buying in to what the coach is selling, so why should I?

Anyway, I guess i’ll watch the game tonight, just to see how bad a dumpster fire it can be. Hopefully KP is back starting at the 5 with Melo, Kuz, Lee, and Rose starting around him.

by the way there is zero hope that a Melo trade will happen. It’s just not going to happen. I haven’t spent 5 seconds thinking about it.

I think we will either be buyers or if not, only minor deals. The only chance for tankapalooza is if we bomb during this tough stretch coming up and if Porzingis’s achilles keeps acting up. Then I think it’d be possible they’d shut KP down for a while, which will end up resulting in tanking anyway, intentional or not.

just messing around on the NBA.com stats site — so Ron Baker has an on-court net rating of +9.3 and an off-court net rating of -4.8, so a “net net rating” of +14.1. And so how is anyone anywhere complaining that he’s getting more minutes?

Also does anyone have any idea why Willy is not playing recently?

And last thing about on/off numbers — Rose really has been good for the offense. The team’s ORtg with him off the floor is only 99.9, and 107.7 with him on-court. Maybe the Rose/Baker combo is not that bad.

    @5 and 6

We’re tanking regardless of whether we try to win games or not. This is not a good team.

Also, I am not surprised about the noise coming from Chris Canty about Melo breaking offense. The dude is a fucking douchewad about the way he runs the offense. I swear, Phil should give Hornacek the green light to bench him every time he gets out of hand.

If there is a mutiny in locker room it seems to be coming from the easily replaceble vets.

Guys like Lee, Rose and Jennings have been the most critical of Hornaceck in his short stint here. Hornaceck is not without fault but I want to see what he could do with a younger more athletic team.

    @1o

You can also see it with the way Popovich runs the Spurs. He doesn’t give a shit about who is the star of his team and who isn’t. Everyone is accountable for their performance on the court in every play. I don’t see why a NY franchise can’t be conducted this way. The closest to it is the Yankees under Girardi. I sure would love to see Hornacek have that authority to run the team in the vein as his mentor, Jerry Sloan.

Anyone else here think Melo could be good on the Cavs and reinvent his game into an efficient player? Serious question.

I think Lebron, CP3 and Popovich are the only guys who could get Melo to buy in 100% to what the team wants to do.

@12 Maybe Melo would be a more efficient offensive player if he played the 3rd or 4th option on offensive, like “Olympic Melo”, but his awful defense isn’t going away.

Melo doesn’t want to be the 2nd, 3rd or especially the 4th option on a team. He’s proven it time and time again in the chances he’s had to leave NYC and join a winning club. Even now he’d rather be the Alpha on a subpar, failing team that at best can make an 8th seed in the Eastern Conference than approve a trade that would send him to a title contender like the Cavaliers or Clippers. This is who he is.

I’d love to get Lance Stephenson for this team, he would be an invaluable asset for the tanking squad, I feel this team still needs more help trying to reach a top ten pick… competition will be stiff in a couple of months

Lance almost single-handedly defeated the Spurs in the playoffs last year. He would be worth a try.

yeah that’s why Memphis was swept and it wasn’t even close

and Rubio is very good, but i said that so many times already and this sorry ass franchise is not getting him

Jesus Christ, reading the morons on Posting and Toasting makes me want to punch baby seals. Judging by their posts you would think Melo is a combination of Mother Theresa and Ghandi for not wanting to wave his NTC.

Well, we are really circling the drain now. I thought we might get out of January before the knives came out but as always, should have taken the under.

In other news, Nikola Jokic had 29 and 15 last night and Danilo Gallinari remains a scrub with a sub 60% ts%. I remain very very bitter.

I bet we could at least trade a Brandon Jennings or a Derek Rose to the Clippers. But this would mean our tank would be severely compromised.

I still remain incredibly bitter about Gallinari.

I really love watching him but every time I do it reminds me of how stupefied I was when I realized the terms I read about the Melo trade were real

@22 Amen. Posters at that place make outrageous claims (especially about Carmelo Anthony) and will never provide any source to back those claims up. Jokes on me though for continuing to read that drivel.

    @26

Its insane how cultish their entire stance towards this guy is. I wish they didn’t kick me off there so I could give them a piece of my mind.

Mike Malone should be fired yesterday if Denver is trying to win games. The minutes distribution on that team is insane.

Posting and Toasting is a good site, but it’s not a good site for the sort of ruthlessly objective analysis you get here on Knickerblogger, the home of the eyevaluation.

I don’t know. Mudiay is now out of the negative zone with a scorching .001 ws/48. Coach him up a little more and the sky is the limit.

With the Nuggets, playing Mudiay a bunch is defensible if you’re trying to win in the future. And that’s fine. I don’t know what their goals are for this season, but if they are actually trying to win they need to fire Malone.

They are in a strange spot. Competing for the chance to be the sacrificial lamb when a tank would actually be very very beneficial. Add a great point guard to that roster and you might have something in a few years.

Got no explanation for Jokic being fifth in minutes though.

And hey, Jameer Nelson is still in the NBA. Hard to believe.

Tanking should really be banned by the NBA. It’s the opposite of sports.

Nuggets’ problem was the same problem we had when KP was lighting it up – their young stud is playing too well and carrying their shitty team on his back.

Got no explanation for Jokic being fifth in minutes though.

They probably don’t want to wear him out like we did KP.

Well, that’s intelligent at least. It sure seemed at the beginning of the year they had forgotten what they had though.

I don’t believe for a minute they were tank-benching Jokic. Malone got excited about Nurkic and went to Pluto to visit him this summer and lost his mind trying to play them together. When that didn’t work he quite stupidly benched the guy who wouldn’t whine (sort of happened here but Horny forgot that even the cooperative soldiers have Instagram accounts these days). Mudiay is more of a semi-tank but only in that they are prioritizing giving him every possible chance to develop over winning.

My plan for the rest of the season:
    > Play KP limited minutes to ensure his health and support the tank
    > Don’t play Melo > 15mpg after the break telling him we’ve got to preserve him for next season and develop younger players (support the tank)
    > Ron and Willy need minutes. I think Ron should only play SG since that’s where he might be a future rotation player. Willy seems to play much better when he’s out there for 20+ minutes.
    > Giving Ron and Willy minutes means trading Lee and KOQ. I would target Delon Wright who Pelton rated #10 in 2015 draft. He put up WS/48 of .124 in 229 minutes in his rookie season. He’s behind Lowry/Cory in the rotation so won’t get minutes. I think some type of 3-way deal could make that happen where KOQ goes to a 3rd team and Raptors receive Lee and a player from that 3rd team. Also I would consider some similar type of 3-way deal netting us Rubio.
    > Let’s shoot for this configuration next season:
1: Ntikilina and one of Wright or Rubio
    2: Baker/Holiday
    3: Melo/Lance
    4/5: KP/Willy/Noah

Anyone know why the line is even tonight…? Are the Celtics resting their five best players or something?

Holy shit, I had no idea that Jokic is putting up a .658 TS% on 17.8 FGA/48 with great assist and rebounding numbers.

Remember last year when we were (foolishly) debating who was the more productive player, him or KP? Answered.

Jokic is consistently blowing me away with his stat lines and not a peep out of the media about this guy. The same dudes that still refer to Rose, Melo, and even a Paul George as “superstars”, don’t even know Nikola Jokic exists..

Jokic makes the Nuggets a league pass team all on his own. He’s just a god damn joy to watch. How the hell did he slip past everyone?

Id like to say that while I appreciate the need to tank this year I don’t think we need to think drastically about changing this team going forward. Hear me out.

Melo – um, he doesn’t want to leave. So unless a good trade comes up that he’s open to, its kind of a mute point.

Rose – expires this year, so just don’t resign him. Problem solved.

Noah – stuck with him for the time being. He is increasing his value but he probably won’t ever be worth his contract. Again, mute point.

So just look to move Jennings and KQ. Those are the 2 guys I look to trade for a first rounder and/or a couple of second rounders. In fact, I would try to move them together. Combined they make 9 million dollars and Jennings will expire after this year. So you are gifting a team a back up PG who for all his flaws does have his positives (and who will expire this year) and a pretty good back up big on a very team friendly salary. That combined seems worth a first rounder or maybe a first rounder and a second rounder?

Lee is the other guy I would also look to trade but if you can’t get back picks, don’t bother.

That gives more PT to Willie H and Ron. I don’t think it moves the needle much either way as far as making us better or worse. Maybe Ron’s defense makes us better but Willie H is probably slightly worse (right now) than KQ.

I would hate for the Knicks to swing drastically in the other direction and make trades to get rid of dudes just to shake it up. Sometimes the best course of action is to just live with your mistakes and let time take care of it. If we aren’t competing the next few years anyways, there actually is no reason to immediately try and trade Melo and Noah.

I think we need a knickerblogger rule that you can’t suggest a trade without linking to the trademachine to show it works. For example: Rose to the clips…..it’s virtually impossible to deal him there without taking back both Crawford and Rivers, both on 3 year deals. Plus: nobody trades their son for Derrick Rose.

Nikola Jokic is top 10 in the league in WS/48 and BPM

    He’s actually a superstar

My biggest fear is that KP only peaks as a .150 WS/48 player and we end up maxing him

If he doesn’t turn out to be a perennial >=.180 WS/48 we’re in trouble

I’m frustrated Melo is still on this team, too, but I don’t know that his obsession with staying in New York has as much to do with his desire to be The Man on a team as it does with the fact that he really, really likes being in New York, his wife’s career is dependent on her being here (or in LA), his son likes it here, Melo himself had to leave the city at a young age (around the age his son is now, in fact) to move to Baltimore. He may just be taking a career hit for family, on top of whatever delusions he may have about NYK management’s ability to build a winner around him.

    @ 48 Agreed.

With all these young bigs outperforming KP (add Joel Embiid on to the running list), it really puts into perspective how we need to pump the brakes on this kid’s future. I have high hopes for him, but I don’t think there exists any strong evidence that he’ll become the >=.180 WS/48 that we want him to be.

Yes plus add to that his business interests. Is that sufficient that he would reject playing in a starting lineup of Paul/Redick/Melo/Griffin/Jordan? Maybe but he’s got a home in LA and his wife might have even more career options in LA. That leads me to suspect what our subject expert Cronin implied: Melo’s expecting to opt out next summer and receive a sweet deal from Dolan that he would not receive from Clippers. That could mean an additional 20m+ to him in the next 4 years. Dolan’s blues band means a lot to him.

Hey, I just figured out why Melo won’t waive his NTC. Right before the meeting with Phil, Chris Paul texted him and said he’s 100% coming to NY to form a 2 passenger Banana Boat.

    So it’s all good!

Also don’t give up just yet on KP versus those rabbits. His WS/48 is where Dirk’s and Pau’s ended up in their second years. But more importantly, KP could be a greater force on defense than all of those players and none of them will ever have a sky hook. His ceiling is still higher imo.

    @51
sounds like jokic is the man we need to find with our 2nd rd picks or are you suggesting a kp for jokic swap?

You so called Knick fans have now taken to knocking our Unicorn.
    Blasphemy!

Play him 24 min/g instead of 34 and see what his #’s look like. And remember the twig he looked like in the summer league 18 months ago…..

My biggest fear is that KP only peaks as a .150 WS/48 player and we end up maxing him

I’d be fine maxing him at .150 if we had a 45-win core around him and he were capable of 75+ games a year.

As it stands, we have a 33-win core.

Play him 24 min/g instead of 34 and see what his #’s look like. And remember the twig he looked like in the summer league 18 months ago…..

Does it count as the Ikea Effect if your favorite sports corporation “built” the player that you desperately love, or do you have to have had developed him yourself?

I’m frustrated Melo is still on this team, too, but I don’t know that his obsession with staying in New York has as much to do with his desire to be The Man on a team as it does with the fact that he really, really likes being in New York, his wife’s career is dependent on her being here (or in LA), his son likes it here, Melo himself had to leave the city at a young age (around the age his son is now, in fact) to move to Baltimore. Yeah, that’s why I shared that Kelly Clarkson song yesterday. Her singing about her dad leaving sounds exactly how Melo sounds when he talks about being forced to move to Baltimore as a kid. I think it really did traumatize him. However, at the same time, he noted that he would feel differently once his son got older (as he figured it wouldn’t traumatize his son as much once he got older). Kiyan turns 10 in March, so I dunno.

Reading between the lines — Melo is not giving up that NTC, and he is going to refuse to let Phil mind-game him into anything. Game on in the power struggle between Phil and Melo. I’ll still take Melo every day + sunday. He’s tight with Dolan, still has $60MM owed to him, and all you have to do is point to the results of Phil’s tenure.

yes, as long as we intended on tanking after acquiring Emmanuel Mudiay

that’s a fantasy trade if i ever saw one though

Re: Jokic – he is obviously an amazing offensive player, but it should be noted that he is literally the worst rim protector in the entire league (of dudes contesting 5FGA/game) with a DFGA% of 57.8. Kristaps is 2nd best in the entire league (behind Embiid) at 42.3. his offensive brilliance outweighs his defensive shortcomings, but that’s something to consider when comparing KP and Jokic.

I heard on the radio the other day that since he became the unquestioned starter, Denver has the #2 offense…. and the #30 defense. Like worse than ours. It’s hard to imagine.

    http://stats.nba.com/players/defensive-impact/#!?Season=2016-17&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&CF=DEF_RIM_FGA*GE*5&sort=DEF_RIM_FG_PCT&dir=-1

Sure, he’s not a rim protector. But he moves well enough in space to be an average defender (he actually has a solid DBPM) especially when coupled with his rebounding. KP is the better defender but gives up way more on the defensive boards.

    Jokics got a 129 ORTG. 129!

Ron Baker is now a starter after being discovered by Phil and signed as an undrafted rookie in a draft where we had no draft picks. Thanks, Phil!

Playing Zing at the 5 and giving Baker consistent minutes at the 2 are smart coaching moves. But with the bottom falling out and the tank looking inevitable, I’m torn on whether I actually want Horny to make the right move (thereby hurting the tank) or continue to roll out bad, selfish players (thereby helping the tank).

That’s what this franchise has reduced us to. Potentially rooting against our own smart coach and for a continuing dumpster fire. What a joke.

KP and Noah are questionable tonight.

    Rose-Baker-Melo-Kuz-O’Quinn?

Phil should have only three goals for the rest of the season:

    1. Develop/protect Porzingis
    2. Convince Melo to waive the NTC
    3. Trade Noah

Everything else is a distant 4th.

Which of course means he and Dolan will instead give up our pick for Luol Deng, because they’re sure we’re just #OneMoveAway.

As dumb as I find the Knick front office, they’re at least not dumb enough to trade first rounders any more (well, until the Knicks are good, which could happen in some theoretical future). Dolan is rightly still upset about how bad all the draft pick trades make the Knicks look. He wouldn’t deal a first for Kyle Lowry back when the Knicks looked kind of sort of decent. So he’s not trading a pick now.

I’m not as familiar with Denver — do the Nuggets have a rim protector playing with Jokic, or are they just hoping to outscore their opponents?

Doug: outscore. they play a lot of Wilson Chandler and Gallo with him. Faried had his minutes cut, he’s their closest thing to a defender. Malone plays too many guys and gives inconsistent minutes

Was doing some research into that back half of the lottery area where we’ll be drafting… The two guys I’m shooting for are Ntilikina and Anunoby.

Anunoby would be my no. 1 target. That guy has legit DPOY potential. Hell, I just want anyone that plays defense but OG and KP protecting the rim would be a damn good start towards building a top defense.

That’s what this franchise has reduced us to. Potentially rooting against our own smart coach and for a continuing dumpster fire. What a joke.

@68…hey oakman – that same exact thought keeps doing a do loop in my head…i’ve started rooting for all the teams currently “below” the knicks…

good move by horny to try to balance the defense in the back court…neither rose or jennings seem to have any interest in fighting through screens…playing a 2-3 zone and packing the paint used to work to cover bad defensive perimeter players – nowadays though the other team will simply destroy you from behind the arc…

it’s crazy – it’s almost as if our bench (minus jennings – 3rd string pg) should be starting and our starters (minus kp) should be coming off the bench…
    starters:
    kp
    koq
    kuz
    holiday
    baker

    bench:
    noah
    melo
    rotate at the 3
    lee
    rose

even crazier than all that – how in the world do you pick a sympathetic figure in the whole phil versus melo thing…

The two guys I’m shooting for are Ntilikina

He’s likely now going into the top ten, probably even the top six. Anunoby, though, would be a realistic target at the back end of the lottery. What’s really annoying is that this draft class drops off dramatically after about #13, so just watch the Knicks get #14. 🙂

Just as an aside, a lot of the NBA is unwatchable.

I’m finding myself in agreement with Barkley on this. There are maybe five good teams in basketball and then the rest are meh to horrible.
It feels like the talent pools is diminished, teams don’t know how to play well together, and basic basketball skills are lacking.
I mean the league basketball IQ just doesn’t seem very good.

I’m sure there are dozens of reasons for this, but a lot of players simply get by on athleticism.

    But maybe I’m just old.

I blame roster construction. Teams seem to be really bad at it. Look at the hodge podge teams we keep seeing the Knicks play. They make no sense!

I think there’s a lot of really, really good players in the NBA, perhaps more than there’s been for a long time.

    There’s just wayyy less parity

@77 tough to say about an unknown international guy like Ntilikina. I could see him going anywhere from 5-10 overall. Another guy who might slip to the back end of the top ten that I’d be interested in is Fox. Seems like he could be Dennis Schroeder+ with Elfrid Payton’s defense. He probably goes just before we pick though, unless we really bottom out here. FWIW, I think we’ll end up picking right around 10-12.

I’m not sold on Fox. That slender frame is for life and I can easily see him as a Brandon Jennings clone.

I think its cute that DX has Harry Giles at 18. After 10 it would be stupid for a team not to take the risk on him.

Tankathon has Giles at 7 or something though idk their methodology

    NBAdraft has him at 12

    Bleacher report (lol) at 14

I’d be happy with Ntilikina or Fox

Fox is like BJ only with regard to his frame but he’s a better passer and has higher basketball IQ and is farrrrr better on defense. He also shoots well in the paint he’s just horrific from outside

Yeah, I’d love any of the top PGs. I just don’t see any of them making it to #12. The Knicks need to get into the top ten.

Giles needs to play better to get into the lottery, because if he doesn’t it might mean he’s physically shot.

I may pull a Derrick Rose tonight and be nowhere to be found when the game starts.

Giles needs to play better to get into the lottery, because if he doesn’t it might mean he’s physically shot.

    That’s a fair point.

8th would probably be the best case scenario for this team. Hard to see us going below Dal, Min, Phi, LA, Mia, BKN, and Phoenix in the standings. Philly and Dal are are wildcards as they’ve been playing better of late.

After that you have 8 or so teams that are trying to make the playoffs and only separated by 4.5 games in the standings.

Some shit player known as Jerian Grant–he only has a .088 WS/48 this year!

And he doesn’t break down the defense with his elite drive-and-miss abilities

Jonathan Isaac is a pretty interesting player. He has the quickness of a small forward but the length and rebounding ability of a power forward. Not a zero on the defensive end either. He’s been one of my favorite guys to watch this season in the college game.

I gotta say that I’ve had enough with drama. And going all the way back to Frank’s post (@10) about Belichick handling Brady. I would say that the time has come for Hornacek to act the same way. Bench Melo. Bench Rose. Bench Noah. Bench Lee. Start Plumlee, Baker, Ndour and Kuz instead. I don’t care.

When some of you tout Jerian Grant you really embarrass yourselves.

Teodosic is 1000X better than Grant or Ntilikina and wouldn’t cost that much more in salary. So why would I tank again?

Come on; Jerian Grant is not good at basketball.

No one said he was. But he does have an AST:TO ratio above 2, manages to play NBA level defense, and doesn’t fly off to Chicago for vague reasons and subsequently badmouth his coach.

(He’s actually better than all of our guards. Fancy that!)

If you think that Grant is better than all of our guards you should be watching hockey.

First off, we’re 6 games behind Miami at #2 in the tankathon website.

Second off, Jerian Grant was horrible.

Third of all, are you guys trying to kill Clyde with these names? A lineup of Ntilikina, Porzingis, Kuzminskis, Hernangomez, and Teodosic would literally leave him toothless and dead.

Everyone needs to pump the brakes doubting KP. He came out of the draft as a long term project and no one expected him to be good for a while. The fact that he was good so quick is great but people need to stop comparing him to more physically developed players. Physically he is still a long way from where he will be. It took Giannis, another long, thin player who desperately needed to get stronger, till his third season before he was anything more than promising and his fourth season to become a star. I’m not saying KP is Giannis and he could take a step back but people really need to be patient with him, he will be a much more consistent player once he gets stronger.

    Trade Ideas:

New Orleans is looking for a C. What about O’Quinn for Frasier and a lottery protected 1st? Frasier has almost completely fallen out of the rotation and the Pelicans are only 1 game out of the 8 spot in the west.

The Clippers need a PG. What about Jennings for end of the roster dreck and a 1st? Help fill in till Paul is healthy and better than their current back up PGs.

That would potentially give us two more first round picks a mid round pick and a late pick.

    +1

I went to tankathon and only had to click sim lottery 8 times to get the Knicks the #1 pick. This bodes well!

I don’t think Jennings is enough to fetch a first by himself. Props to phil if he does pull it off though.

Come on; Jerian Grant is not good at basketball.

Broadly speaking, at the NBA level this might be true, but he might not be that bad either. And there’s a very real chance he’s better than Derrick Rose. I know, I know, I hear you saying Jerian Grant can’t shoot-and that’s true. But neither can Derrick Rose, and Grant’s been a better finisher this season. Just look at the numbers.

I was just looking at the Clippers’ Bref page to see if Brice Johnson or Diamond Stone got any playtime and my eyes popped out of my head when I saw that Mo Speights–THE Mo Speights–has a .227 WS/48 and a 2.6 BPM in 700 minutes of presumably NBA-level play

    this is mind boggling

@105: NO might trade Frazier for O’Quinn, but no way are they giving us a pick too.

As for Jennings to the clips, LA doesnt’ have dreck salary on a 1 year deal to trade back. We’d have to take $$ into next year. And then I don’t think you get a pick from them.

Salaries don’t even work for a Frazier O Quinn swap–NO would need to include Diallo. Which it’s possible that they might do. But I don’t think that’s worth it necessarily.

Apparently there is a trade rumor floating around on the internet that looks like:

Lakers get: D. Rose, I. Shumpert, T. Thompson

Knicks get: J. Clarkson, L. Williams, L. Deng, D. Liggins

    Cavs get: C. Anthony

The Bulls are such a schizo team. Last night they lost to Dallas at home, the game before that they beat the Grizz in Memphis. Earlier this season, they followed up a home loss to the Lakers with a victory over the Cavs (and beat them in Cleveland a few weeks later) They’ve also beaten the Spurs and the Jazz in Utah.

They’re like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.

He played like an effffing star on MLK day in the late game….

Reub can’t believe anyone would dare suggest Jerian Grant might be better than budding NBA superstar Tony Wroten

    Mo Speights is good!

In other news, Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins have the same TS%.

Ah yes, my beloved Tony Wroten. I miss him so much!

Almost as much as Jerian Grant.

@116 – In what universe does that help the Knicks? Addition by subtraction? I would rather have Rose and Melo rot on the Knicks.

Why are we discussing trading Melo when he chooses to stay here and haunt us?

So, is it true that OQ has been showing up Hornacek, too, when he’s taken out of games? I hadn’t noticed that.

I like Clarkson, but Melo might not dig another Asian guy in the backcourt getting burn

Melo struggles against Crowder. After his first forced shot tonight or lack of defensive effort I’d show him the bench to let him know that there’s a new sheriff in town.

If Jerian Grant were a Knick with those putrid eFG/TS% numbers I’m certain he’d have been ran out of town.

Is Tommy Beer just Tommy Dee after a dozen drinks or something? That article was atrocious, reub

I mean, whatever, the one cogent point from the article makes decent sense, in that yes, so long as they have Porzingis, they’ll have more hope than they’ve had in years. It’s true that that’s something.

These reports about the players being upset with Hornacek for changing the line-ups are so frustrating. Who is Brandon Jennings to call out Jeff Hornacek. Earth to Brandon, defense doesn’t stop after your man crosses half court. If you don’t steal it you gotta make sure he doesn’t put the orange round thing in the circle with a net attached to it.

Maybe if you guys did your f’ing jobs you would play consistent minutes.

Right? Holy shit, Jennings’ comments are so super-douchey.
