Bleacher Report, although more legitimate today than previously, still relies on salacious headlines to draw readers in. Take for instance this vlog titled “Why Karl-Anthony Towns Is a Lock for the New York Knicks with the No. 1 Pick”.
I watched the video hoping there was some legitimate reason the Knicks were locked in to Towns. Was it an insider who has first hand knowledge of the Knicks front office? A scout that couldn’t keep a secret? Did someone find a memo in the trash can outlining how the Knicks would start using their brain (instead of Dolan’s gut) to make organizational moves?
No.
The reason was “because us two sports guys think he’s the best guy in the draft.” Well that and $3.75 will get you on the subway (assuming you don’t already have a metrocard and get stuck with the $1 fee). But I blame myself for clicking on the video to begin with. Why? Because the title alone could not be true. The Knicks can’t be a lock for Karl-Anthony Towns, because the Knicks aren’t even guaranteed to have the first pick in the draft!
Ahhh fooled me again, Bleacher Report!
