From Stefan Bondy:
For the first time in nearly a half-century, the Knicks have two All-Star starters.
Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns were both named on the Eastern Conference squad for the Feb. 16 game in San Francisco, the NBA announced.
The other East starters are predictably and deservedly Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell. The West starters are Nikola Jokic, Steph Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
Wow, how fucking cool is that? Congrats to Brunson and KAT!
Amusingly, it’s only been 12 years since the Knicks last had an All-Star center, as Tyson Chandler made it in 2013.
Very cool news.
Of course, annoyingly, the format this year is weird and dumb, and so Brunson and KAT won’t even be teammates. Booooo.
But that’s not important right now, right now it is just important to congratulate the two on an honor well earned!

Fuck Yeah.
This is such happy news! If LaMelo got it over Brunson, that would have been an infamia…same with Dame.
Celts got their asses whupped by the LeBlakers. Even Bronny got some run!
Wouldn’t it be nice if a Knick could be first team All-NBA?
There hasn’t been a Knick on the first team All-NBA since Ewing, and there have only been five Knicks to make the first team period.
I don’t think it is any coincidence that the last time the Knicks had a player consistently make the first team (Clyde) was also the only time that the Knicks were consistent title contenders.
And their last first team player, Ewing, was also the last time that they were legit title contenders year in and year out for a nice stretch.
Now I am going to dream up scenarios where Giannis ends up in New York…
