Is Brook Lopez too washed for what we need him to be? – I’m thinking Clippers may buy him out after a terrible start. His ability to reinvent himself to whatever the team needs is proven.
I think he might be too cromulent to get bought out. The Clippers might be able to get a 2nd round pick for him.
The morning of the first day of free agency, James Edwards posted an article in which he predicted (among other items) that there was no chance Clippers would be picking up Lopez’s $9M team option for 26-27. Thereby making BL a prime target for the Knicks to sign to a vet minimum.
Later that same day, the Clips picked up BL’s option.
Dreams die hard.
Lopez has a 0.4 epm. -1.0 Darko. 0.8 time decay RAPM.
He’d have to take another step or 2 backwards to get cut.
Old guys are a real market inefficiency now. It doesn’t make sense to compare a 37 year old Brook Lopez to a 37 year old player 10+ years ago, but people still do it. It’s more predictive to look at an individual’s own three-year trend. The cliff can come at any time, but that should be reflected in the price you pay. It shouldn’t mean “stay away at all costs.”
Lopez would be a great get but we don’t have the matching salary.
We do have the matching salary for Al Horford, though. Hence I’ll be rooting hard for early demise of the Warriors.
We already have Drum. He’s only 32, but he’s a very old 32. We need a young guy at least a few years under 30.
I would also prefer us to get a younger back up center. Lopez might work, though, as an upgrade over Drummond. Maybe we could do a trade with The Clippers after December 15th where we trade them Drummond and a second round pick for Lopez?
If Jacob Coxon is right and there are only a handful of championships left before we go extinct, I would go for Lopez if I thought he could help this year.
A couple years ago a regulatory agent from the US gov’t audited my home office to make sure I didn’t have any loose paper with client-identifying information on it in an unlocked drawer. I live alone, and my front door is locked, and my home office door is locked, but the loose paper needed to also be in a locked drawer.
This is what our government is regulating while tech companies do whatever they want.
Anyway my favorite young center remains JK47’s guy, Karlo Matkovic. Dumars is stubborn, though, and he might not want to trade with us again after he came under fire for giving away Alvarado.
Matko is not my *favorite* young center, but he’s definitely up high on my list.

Doogie I meant my favorite young center that’s been discussed as a reasonable target. I like Ware and Lively better, but one’s not available and the other’s crocked. Is there someone else from the gettable list you like more?
Probably Hunter Dickinson, who I believe is already a free agent and therefore more gettable than Matko. In some ways I like him better than Matko, regardless. But I’d be happy with either one.
I’d be even happier with Cardwell.

The proposed solution now is coordination between the top AI labs to make sure everyone is behaving. In other words a cartel, and safety and security are the #1 excuse for consolidating power. So the government regulating against pieces of paper outside of locked boxes is indeed visionary.
There are currently quite a few people in positions of influence and power these days that scare the shit out of me. He’s one of them.
Maybe I was naive, but I remember when greedy people used the power of government and its institutions to enrich themsleves at the expense of others and that was the main thing that got me pissed off.

My idea about a skit where Kate McKinnon plays Ms Rafferty as a long-time Knicks fan on a panel with new band wagon knicks fans and they all describe their respective experiences is gold and I hope someone at SNL steals it (or comes up with it independently) because I really want to see it.

I forget what it’s called but there’s a theory about how humans might actually be the only intelligent living species in the universe, and it goes something like this… by the time a species can develop the technology necessary to navigate and communicate with the deeper universe it’s also developed the technology to end its own existence, and the second one always happens first.
Jalen hosting will be interesting. Absolute killer on the court, not necessarily the most charismatic person off it. There are athletes who host SNL who turn out to be both incredibly loose and game for anything. Others are basically props whom the show has to work around. I suspect he’ll be the latter.

After the City Hall speech, Jalen hosting SNL makes as much sense as Kawhi representing Aspiration. Hope Dolan didn’t make the introduction (actually I do if it gets him banned).
