From Shams:
Free agent P.J. Tucker has agreed to sign with the New York Knicks on a 10-day contract, sources told ESPN on Saturday night.
Tucker, a 2021 NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks, gives the Knicks an enforcer and frontcourt depth.
Tucker, 39, last played in May 2024 for the LA Clippers in their first-round series against the Dallas Mavericks. Currently in his 14th NBA season, Tucker spent time with the Clippers, Utah Jazz and Toronto Raptors before being waived late in February.
Tucker held discussions with multiple teams since being waived by the Raptors ahead of the March 1 deadline for released players to be playoff-eligible.
According to Second Spectrum, Tucker has made 704 corner 3-pointers over the past 12 seasons, the most in the NBA during that span. A proven playoff performer on both ends of the floor, Tucker has played 104 postseason games in his career.
The Knicks rank in the top 10 in corner 3-pointers and are last in bench scoring, per ESPN Research, making a depth signing in Tucker beneficial for both sides. Tucker is expected to be an option for Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau across all frontcourt positions while providing support for Karl-Anthony Towns, Mitchell Robinson and Precious Achiuwa at center.
Tucker has averaged 6.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals over his career and has shot 36.6% from 3-point range.

Womp womp.

I think it’s a good hire. They need another big body sometimes and ten days will give them a feel for if he’s a help or not.

From the quote at the top, multiple teams were interested in Tucker. The CAA connection might have been a good thing for us in recruiting him.
Give him a look. Park him in a corner for four-five minutes a game and see if you can get a three pointer or two. He spreads the floor. Long NBA experience and a ring are huge pluses.
The locker room situation does not seem ideal, that’s my own impression as well, but this is far from conspiratorial takes that everything is about to collapse and a 10-day contract is going to save the situation.
A special thread for a 10-day contract signing? Really?
Can PJ still play defense?
Lakers-Celtics – can I root for a tie?
Ugh…..
God help me, I find myself rooting for Boston. I think I’m still sour about that OT loss. (Also annoyed that another team could be gifted Luka like that and find JJ grating on me recently.)
Is Redick a better coach than Thibs?
Too soon to tell. But JJ’s doing pretty great job so far. Don’t forget Thibs won 62 games in *his* rookie season. 🙂
This joint, Yang Chows, in LA has/d a dish called slippery shrimp that was literally crustacean crack. I have eaten that dish more than could safely be administered in a decade. I’d be on that in these troubled times. Luckily, the crispy shrimp at Nin Hao exists. I’m on that in these troubled times.
But he hasn’t played for ten months, so who knows what we are getting
Nin Hao means you good
Bucks and Pacers both lost tonight.
Yang Chao is the bomb. Probably the best spot in Chinatown out here in LA.
We have a satellite version of Yang Chow down here in Long Beach that is not quite as good but will do in a pinch. Best Chinese spot in the LBC in my opinion.
Well, I spelled it correctly the second time at least.
If the locker room is that bad, that ain’t good.
Meanwhile I’m on board with Raven’s 27-Assist mandate. Seems pretty apparent how much better we are when sharing the ball.
