2021-22 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Another Team I Guess We Can’t Complain About Them Beating

The Wizards lost to the Trailblazers, who are terrible, so it’s hard to imagine that the Knicks will lose to these guys.

Nice to see KP!

Let’s go!

Who’s going for the career high tonight? I bet on Kispert, as his career high is only 21 pts.

You know, right now “play the kids” really just means don’t play Burks or Taj right? (Randle is gonna play even if he has 15 turnovers)

Completely forgot they have Porzingis. Do we even have to boo him anymore now that we officially won the trade?

Porzingis should be thriving without that usage soaking turnover machine Doncic on his team

Ouch, I don’t like KP’s primadonna attitude but that play changed everything, both for him and the team…

Was gonna say, it’s still hard to watch.

Fournier gonna get the record tonight?

I continue to be amazed at the level of crowd intensity for a meaningless game against a shit team

We really do deserve a better team

Give up, Aaron Paul, i’m not going to be a member of the world’s favorite sportsbook.

Z-man:
sigh, no McBride…

No Deuce and we’re playing a 9-men rotation…
We know who to thank about it.

I have Clyde, Ewing, Mark Jackson and David Lee for the trivia. I’m missing one.

freeze the envelope Mr Silver!

cybersoze: Good call, and he was an all star in his rookie season!? :O

He was very very very good in his first two years, before injuries started to slow him…

If it was a random draft and Sims was picked in the late first or early 2nd, he wouldn’t look out of place…

I hope the Wiz steal this game, and then Miles can throat-punch Thibs in the tunnel on the way to the locker room…

Someday I hope to look back non-nostalgically at the days of endless Randle isos

Knicks seem to overestimate how much of a mismatch it is to have randle posting against a smaller player. Often he just winds up getting stripped or takes a long two.

Quickley’s been so solid. Glad his shot’s come back and glad to see his skillset diversifying.

Nice play all around, too bad that 3 by Grimes didn’t go down.

Sloppy game against a mediocre team, atrocious shooting night (34%!!!)…
Victory was expected but Atlanta did his job…

Saw the game. Missed the thread. IQ looks good now, and I thought Sims looked really good, too. RJ with the clutch FT!

Also terrible shooting, but rebound, rebound, rebound.

I must have dozed off and dreamed that a guy named Wenyen Gabriel was lighting it up for the Lakers…

Looks like drafting Scottie Barnes over Jalen Suggs wasn’t such a dumb idea after all…

The Wizards are going to be one of our main competitors for a starting PG in the off-season. They have their #1 option in Beal, #2 option in KP, #3 option in Kuzma and a couple of young players, but they desperately need a starting PG. The KP trade was a great for them. They got rid of 2 players that didn’t fit at all, 1 that wasn’t even in the rotation, and the contracts were similar cumulatively and in length. Now they have a better team, more upside, and probably a better chance to keep Beal. They need a playmaking PG. I wonder if they would consider bringing John Wall back if the Rockets buy him out of the last year. I’m not sure that would even be a good move, but there aren’t many quality starting PG options out there. Maybe they should take a flyer on Rubio. They won’t need a scoring PG with Beal, KP, and Kuzma. They need someone to get those guys the ball and defend. A healthy Rubio would be very good fit, but it’s a risk.

I won’t lie, as soon as Masai did it, I said, “I guess he knows better.”
