When is the last time we got this many non-algorithm Mike K posts in a single week?
BING BONG
When was the last time the Knicks were this promising?
Mike K on fire. Now we’re really onto something big! 😉
Hubert, you like to take on the Brian curse, but this time Brian wrote this and we still won the game. Knicks against Brian is at 1-2. 😛
1999 after beating Indy to get to the NBA Finals? 🙂
When Stat was getting MVP chants in the fall of 2010?
Yeah, you’re right. I liked that team a lot. We should never have traded for Melo.
magic eight ball sez – ummmmm yeah, most likely not
remember all – one step at a time…
They obviously had the Sativa edibles before this one. Great energy on defense.
I think the Amare team never quite got there in terms of excitement, even pre-Melo trade, because we all kinda knew his knees were still fucked. Randle has been very healthy his entire career at least.
During the 13 game winning streak at the end of the 2013 season.
I wonder if the knicks have politely asked mitch to lose 15 to 20 pounds…
the thing is – there’s only one embiid sized center in the league, pretty much everyone else playing the five is fast and fit…
right now, nerlens/taj > mitch/nerlens
yeah man, mitch needs to go vegan and go for 24 hour a day hot yoga…
mitch zagged when every other big man in the league is zigging…
whoever convinced mitch brolicing up was a good money move – better re-think things fast…
When we smashed the Heat in MIami in 2012 to open 14-4 I was pretty fucking excited
The regular season Game vs the Celtics where Novak, Jr and Melo killed them from 3 was prob my fav time being a fan last 10 years. I go back to watch the highlights every now and then
I never believed in Amare’s knees. I loved Chandler but disliked Melo and knew that core would end quickly and badly.
This feels right. We aren’t going to win a chip but this is the easiest team to root for in 20 years. By far.
I think Swift will pull a Samuel L. Jackson on you… “Well, allow me to retort” !! 😀
Don’t forget about the Linsurrection.
Linsanity was incredible but I didn’t think we were a real contender. In 12 we opened the season beating Miami badly, but it was a weird post blizzard game. Then we kept winning, we beat the Spurs in San Antonio when that meant something, and then we went into Miami to play the Heat when they were motivated for revenge and blew them off the fucking floor. That team was really, really good-even though it ended horribly they were the first Knicks team that could have plausibly won the finals since the 90s
It feels weird that we may be entering a parity era in the NBA after decades of sustained dominance by a handful of teams. It would be damn good luck to have a solid team during such an era.
If you believe Brian Windhorst, that parity will be diluted before the decade is up with teams in Seattle and Las Vegas. But definitely, it seems like the overwhelming favorites are not so overwhelming in the league today. Maybe that changes if Eric Adams lifts the vaccination mandate in NYC, but even then the Nets are both top heavy and fragile.
It’s looking like a great era to be a Knicks fan.
A lot of criticism of Mitch gaining a few pounds and slowing down. He is coming off a very long injury which and was stopped by the DPOY tonight. He and Noel scored a combined 10 points. Giannis started with the first offensive play of the game for the Knicks.
The real issue is Kemba, who has been inconsistent. His shot just wasn’t there last night.
Make no mistake. Rose, RJ and Randle carried the team and are who they rely on to get wins.
He came out yesterday to say ““Let me tell you something, I’m a Nets fan, Brooklyn Nets, and I love Kyrie. I think he’s a piece we need for the championship. This is something that the NBA has made an agreement if they’re going to perform in the city this is an agreement they made . I believe that it’s up to the NBA and Kyrie to come to an understanding of how they’re going to get through this. And I believe they can come to a resolution.”
The Cronin Curse is only invoked when Brian speaks with absolute certainty that a likely outcome has been predetermined. Still 0-2.
