Georgetown coach Patrick Ewing has tested positive for the coronavirus, the school announced Friday. The Hall of Famer is under care and isolated at a local hospital

“I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19. This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly,” Ewing said in a statement. “I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Now more than ever, I want to thank the healthcare workers and everyone on the front lines. I’ll be fine and we will all get through this.”

The school said Ewing is the only member of the Georgetown men’s basketball program to have tested positive for the virus.

I haven’t been on in a while, but I came here to say that one of the last things I need in my life this year is St. Patrick to… no, I won’t type that and put that out into the universe.

Patrick Ewing is reason #1 (with Charles Oakley as 1A) to my cornerstone of becoming a Knick fan and loving this team as I have.

Supposing Patrick hits the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think they said that hasn’t been checked but you’re going to test it. And then you see the disinfectant. Where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute and is there a way we can do something like that by injections inside or almost a cleaning, cause you see it gets on the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs.

In other words, he’s going to be fine.

Brian, have you seen the bonus puzzle on NYT Crossword’s site? It’s currently “Free Comic Book Day” themed. Might be up your alley. The bonus puzzles are usually a Wednesday-ish difficulty IIRC, so they should be fun even if you’re not experienced.

Hopefully he comes through okay and then with the antibodies he’s one less person we need to worry about losing. Nobody wants that bad news. Get well #33… Legend
