2014-15 Game Thread: Knicks @ Bulls

I think it is very fair if everyone would prefer to watch the Kentucky game and see the player we hope that the Knicks can end up with instead of this nonsense.

The Bulls seem to often play down to their competition, so this could be a bit scary.

Let’s go? Knicks!

Any team that plays down to our level should be expelled from the league and investigated for deliberately throwing the game.

I can’t believe I’m spending my Saturday night watching this…

…Where did I go wrong in my life?

  3. Owen

It’s a picture in picture kind of night, Knicks are going in the corner when Towns is on the court….

Sweet Lou is following the familiar path of shitty newcomers reminding you eventually why they aren’t getting any NBA burn despite all the great qualities the shine through in their first 72 hours on your horrific team. It takes a lot of hustle to make up for going 5 for your last 29 as a big. Like clean the arena after everyone leaves hustle.

    Mirotic:

Great rookie? or greatest rookie? When playing the Knicks, it looks like a perfectly legitimate question.

    I like this Towns kid….

Yeah, but can he spread the floor? Does he have the heart of a champion? The will to win? These are important questions.

    To someone.

    A very silly someone.

TH2 can’t practice his jumpers? If only there was something he could work one that didn’t involve flinging the round bouncy thing into the hole with a net on it…if only…

I can’t watch the Knicks right now. As crappy as college ball is, the Knicks might be worse….

I know that isn’t possible, I know Lou Amundson would be college player of the year, but they just look so so crappy….

Towns post game seem very basic right now. That chicken wing bully ball won’t work early on. Luckily for him he has other tools to fall back on while he develops.

Also, this will sound crazy but I wouldn’t be mad if the Knicks traded back to 3 with Philly to pick up Russell and Grant. I know that’s crazy but Grant is a baller.

This thought will pass though and I will go back to normal I hope.

Willie Cauley Stein seems to me to be the second coming of Tyson Chandler.

    Me likes….

Notre Dame looks like they might beat them tonight though….

Boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. The Irish aint no joke (Flavor Fav voice)

Is this And 1, Irish ballers edition?[:D]

I know it looks bad for Kentucky now, but I still think they win going away, maybe double digits. Too much talent to be denied.

I like how ND is playing defense on Towns the same way they did against Okafor. Just let the big men get theirs.

  14. Owen

    Grant does look good.

I find the fact Towns shoots 82% pretty intriguing….

    Definitely a Towns guy…

  15. Owen

ND has played the game of its life and is tied.

Tough call but the right one, got to give the refs some credit…

I’m a big Towns fan and he was awesome offensively against the single coverage tonight but he was slow and out of place defensively all game

  17. Owen

Yeah, don’t really know what was going on there with his D. It didn’t look unathletic to me, more just fundamentally unsound, the kind of stuff which can be corrected….

  18. yellowboy90

I wasn’t really that impressed with Towns tonight outside of his free throw shooting. He bullied a undersized light weight big on offense with the same basic move then got out hustled on defense by the same guy. I still like Towns but this was not a wow game for me.

The good news is that the Knicks will probably get a pretty good player in the draft.

The bad news is that most of the other teams in the conference are probably going to get pretty good players too.

So I haven’t watched a lot of Ledo during his Knicks tenure, but from what little I’ve seen plus his rate adjusted box score stats communicates to me that he’s fucking horrible and should be cut. Am I right in this assumption or does he show enough flashes to warrant the opportunity cost of the space he takes up on the end of the bench?

He, like many other Knicks, has some value as a ping pong ball generator. I didn’t watch the Knicks game, but I see in the box score that Ricky Ledo played 29 minutes and the Knicks lost by over 30 points, so he’s pulling his weight tank-wise.

This team is so bad you can actually make a case that Andrea Bargnani is the best player the Knicks are running out there.

I was just thinking the same thing: “Jesus Christ, Bargs is our best player right now.”
