The tough thing about the NFL being so QB centric is that if they draft a good OL and then win say 9 or 10 games they’re just stuck next year with no QB and they’re drafing too low to have a chance at one of the better prospects

Certainly true. But I never got the sense Jaxson Dart is some excellent prospect. He seems like the kind of dude that’s available every single year outside the top 20 picks.

They seem to be betting heavily on the fact that he’s highly compatible with Daboll, and that’s what made taking him worth it. (Or maybe Mara just told them they needed to draft a QB.)

I’m mostly concerned with the following plausible scenario: the Giants get overwhelmed by their tough early schedule, have a terrible year, Mara fires the GM & coach, and now you have a new regime that doesn’t like Dart as much as the previous regime. In that case they’ll have wasted three quality draft picks.

I’m not in love with Schoen & Daboll, but I think they deserve to be judged on process vs wins. They have pivoted quite well from the Daniel Jones error and are getting a lot of good pieces in the door. I’m legitimately excited to watch this defense.
