2025-26 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Pacers

You never want Jalen Brunson to miss a game, but at the same time, if he’s GOING to miss time, this is the best time for it, as the Knicks are in the midst of a CRAZY easy stretch.

Let’s go, Knicks!

57 is still in play, and that’s okay!

Alvie is starting tonight instead of Shamet!!! And Mitch is in.

Confirmed Lineup
PG T. McConnell
SG Aaron Nesmith
SF Jarace Walker
PF Kobe Brown
C Ivica Zubac

MAY NOT PLAY
G A. Nembhard Out
F M. Potter Out
F P. Siakam Out

Confirmed Lineup
PG Jose Alvarado
SG Josh Hart
SF Mikal Bridges
PF OG Anunoby
C K. Towns

MAY NOT PLAY
G J. Brunson Out
G M. McBride Out

I’m low-key liking starting Alvarado. Different look, different energy. Although I’d rather it be Jose AND Jalen…

Bridges’ ironman streak coming to an end because he is pathologically incapable of dunking would be fitting

Things are so bad for Mikal he turned his ankle on an open layup with no one around him

Breen every first quarter of every Knicks game:

“They’re __ for___ on 3 pointers!!”

Doesn’t matter what the starting lineup is Knicks defense in the 1st quarter will be garbage.

Bridges is in a serious funk. His confidence is not there. He needs a couple of plays run for him to get an easy basket so he relaxes.

Clyde on Clarkson: “That’s playing hard but not smart…”

Breen picked a bad time to ask Clyde what’s making the difference in Knicks defense lately

It’s crazy how opponents have shot against the Knicks these last few games. Insane.

So of course without Jalen Brunson the Knicks play their best offensive and worst defensive half in a while (though the defensive issue was that the Pacers hit all of their 3s).

I mean, we’re up by 8 at halftime. Seems better than our previous three games, if memory serves.

EDIT: We were down by 9 to both the Jazz and the Warriors at halftime. We were up 11 on the Pacers at halftime, but then they started to run us out of their building once the third quarter started.

“Twitter is telling me that Mo was a DNP in 1st half.”

As were Sochan and Huk.

Shai, Alvie, and Hart playing exceptionally well tonight.

Why did the Knicks take a quick timeout? Please tell me that no one got hurt.

I’d rather that neither one of them had the yips, but if I had to choose one over the other I’d choose Mikal to have them. He’s less essential to our overall success.

These USA at bats are worse than what I usually see the Yankees have in the playoffs.

Remember that time Mikal Bridges was actually good for half a season? That was some crazy shit

If towns cant shoot anymore…we’re fucked

Maybe Hart is a shooting vampire and sucked the trey accuracy away from KAT

1

3 more cupcakes wins to go…
+ beat Hornets (away 3/26)
+ beat Boston (home 4/09)
+ go 5:2 the other 7 games.
= #2 seed. (GUARAAAANTEEED)

‘I prefer having Brunson on the court.”

I agree as long as there’s a real PG on the court with him and he’s playing off the ball or it’s crunch time and we need to create a basket, but the rest of time I’d rather have a real PG and another top scorer. When Brunson is on the court we have no PG. That’s why guys like Hart and OG rarely have nights like this playing with him. OG especially seems to play better without him going back to last year. Brunson usually dominates the ball, creates for himself and doesn’t make anyone better with either ball movement or high level passes. Even when he gets doubled he’s sometimes shoot first. He’s a scorer period. If we had a real PG Hart’s in and out shooting would be less of an issue because we wouldn’t need Hart’s playmaking as much when he’s in one of his slumps. We could play someone else.
