good morning everyone pistons lost again so that helps us on our quest for first place
Miami really wanted to give away that game last night, but the Pistons refused to take it.
The Pistons are clearly good, but they seem way too reliant on Tobias Harris’ “veteran leadership” at this point in their arc.
Philly, on the other hand, is beginning to scare me. Hopefully it’s just ptsd from past Philly teams…
the new injury report rule is hysterical
https://official.nba.com/nba-injury-report-2025-26-season/
injury reports used to come out once every hour on the half hour suddenly they now come out every 15 minutes quite a difference
I’m not sure we can beat OKC as matter of course. Almost every other team is wallowing in the primordial muck of parity. Spurs are emergent. Brunson at least gives us a spine.
Expected Lineup
PG Jalen Brunson
SG Mikal Bridges
SF OG Anunoby
PF M. Diawara
C K. Towns
MAY NOT PLAY
C M. Robinson Ques
F Josh Hart Out
G L. Shamet Out
Expected Lineup
PG T. Young Ques
SG Dyson Daniels
SF Z. Risacher
PF Jalen Johnson
C O. Okongwu
MAY NOT PLAY
G T. Young Ques
KAT is questionable with an illness, which seems to be running through the team (as well as most people in my personal life). We can beat the Hawks without him but I hope he can give it a go since he can really exploit the Hawks’ awful front court depth. Otherwise we’ll have to hope Three-iawara can show out.
both kat and mitch are now questionable but weve heard that mitch could have played against the spurs (wish he had!!!) so i think that we will not be without both of them they either both play or at least if kat is out mitch will play
I am SMELLING the Hukaissance!
(Not quitting on you, big feller — yet…)
I assume Mitch plays tomorrow as the Sixers have Embiid and Drummond.
The absence that will hurt the Knicks the most will be Trae’s.
i can understand for sure why one might think that huk is going to play a lot tonite and he still might but i also know that in other games where that was expected to occur (kat and mitch both out) it didnt really happen that way his season high in minutes thus far has been 27 which is obviously a lot for him but not you know really a lot
KP is back, I think, which will make tonight’s game quite difficult. No Trae + KP starting = best Hawks.
Hoops Collective podcast named the top 3 players for the year 2025, obviously SGA was #1 followed by Jokic but Brunson finished 3rd. The NBA Cup MVP held some weight!
I’ll be at the game tonight with my son, expecting the feel will be like a playoff game…especially if Trae plays, which I fully expect him to. Between the anti-KP sentiment and the F Trae Young chants on a holiday Friday night, MSG should be lit!
Trae Young has already been ruled out for tonight.
Hawks tend to play better without Trae, so that’s not necessarily a plus for us. Meanwhile…
“Trae Young has already been ruled out for tonight.”
Thanks, BBA, hadn’t seen that. In a way, I’m glad, that takes the possibility of him going for 40+ and hitting a dagger to beat us, I’m still traumatized by being at Game 1 back in 2021.
if sel y lose tonite it will most definitely be the worst loss of the year!
The Golden State Warriors will be without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green for their Friday night home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
just saw that raven, crazy times…seems they are forfeiting tonight for a chance to beat utah tomorrow…
sucks for fans, makes sense for the team though…ha, maybe kuminga we’ll get unstuck from their bench for a game…
reference spurs – i did not think fox would fit so well on the team, thought his play would come at the expense of their young talent (castle, vassell, harper)…
that doesn’t seem to be the case at all…turns out fox, barnes, and kornet all make for an excellent veteran presence on a relatively young team…
Steve Popovic 2.0. This is why ratings and ticket sales are shit throughout the league. NYC city had north of 8 million tourist last month so Dolan doesn’t have this problem.
Every team manager and player makes a selfish, short term, what’s good for me play. Entitled spoiled brats are siting on shoulders of giants while poisoning the well for the next generation.
Saw somewhere that Christmas ratings were the highest in fifteen years.
i doubt that steve popovic ever actually had this in mind when he came up with the concept of load management way back in 2012 he had no idea what siting healthy players would lead to when he first did it
you’re bumming me out Director 😊
not a bad thing thing at all, I can be a bit morose at times, so i kind of welcome this type of thinking…
seriously, there’s just not a ton of incentives in life to do much else other than look towards our own self interests…
not sure why you might expect folks to act in any other manner than not fulfilling their own desires…
we’re born, get a bit of time to shine and get ours, then we are fertilizer for those that follow…fairly simple system…
If you want a business based on gambling, you must give them the best available information.
BPL m, it is unfortunately too true that the sports business is based on gambling.
Let’s all lift a flagon for Hukporti getting the start!
…and Deuce!
huk has already started three games for us and has averaged 2 points in 18 minutes in those games
