Unfortunate news about Huk (get well soon big boy!), encouraging news about Mitch, it’s funny that after getting rid of Jericho all of a sudden we find ourselves a little thin at center (who would have thought?).

Mitch ìs our only chance to find a secret weapon and maybe raise our season’s ceiling, while getting to the playoffs healthy is the only thing that matters, so who cares about tonight game in Memphis?

Let KAT heal, let Josh rest, protect OG’s foot, give Mitch all the time he needs to round into form.
In short: manage our guys carefully Thibs!

Any of the C’s on the waiver wire are as good as Jericho Sims. I like the kid, but he’s very not good.

Yeah, every able body 6’10” and higher would be as good as, or probably better than, Jericho (except Christian Wood).

Jericho btw clearly reads KnickerBlogger, just read his last boxscore… 😉

It’s been 10 months since Mitch’s surgery. If it isn’t fully healed by now, my guess is that it will never be. Sooner or later, he’s going to land on someone’s foot, and how much he plays will only affect the probability so much.

I wouldn’t rush him back because of fear of other injuries…hammy, groin, calf, stuff like that. He clearly needs to get back into game shape via minutes management. But for me, worrying about his ankle/foot being re-injured is suggesting that he is a time bomb and can’t be counted on anyway. Therefore, I hope that after a week or two, he plays a full minutes load (20-30 minutes, give or take).

Max, Christian Wood is very talented, and he could probably help way more than Sims if his knee is recovered. In fact, he’s exactly the kind of player I would take a risk on IF he is healthy. Any reason beyond his decline over the last couple of years that you are so adamantly against him?

Christian Wood is very talented, he’s also an empty stats guy, a zero on defense outside blocks, and a he’s well known locker room problem since his days at UNLV.
His BB-IQ is very very low and all the teams he played for got rid on him as soon as they can.
He’s basically a poor’s man version of Hassan Whiteside.

The 15th spot on the roster is meaningless, but I think we could find a way to use it better.

P.S. I forgot to say he’s always injured and he’s considered by many, as Phil Jackson would say, a “malingerer” 🙂

I dunno, seems like some of the character stuff is overblown, and he wouldn’t be in the rotation except as an emergency backup similar to Sims.

I’d prefer Bamba to him, but we need someone and beggers can’t be chosers. What are the alternatives, the corpses of JaVale McGee and Bismack Biyombo?

Hit the buzzer on Biyombo before we waste time discussing him. He started for the Spurs two nights ago.

    Dmytro Skapintsev?
He’s playing for the Blazers’ G-League team, he knows our organization, coaching staff and the guys, his “integration” should be smooth.

The stories about filming the car chase scene in French Connection are insane. They had a stunt man drive 95 mph through live traffic under the elevated (the only thing staged was him swerving to avoid a woman and a baby carriage) and actually bought a guy a car to replace the one they smashed into

The good old days of filmmaking!

    Via Begley:

Yossi Gozlan of The Third Apron explains that the Knicks will be able to add a new free agent later in the season if they wait until Saturday – at the earliest – to sign someone.

Here’s how Gozlan, who offers fantastic insight on the salary cap on his YouTube channel, explains the sequencing:

If the Knicks sign a player in February 28, their roster is finalized. They wouldn’t have enough room below the second apron to sign another player if they wanted him to replace someone already on the roster. But if they delay signing someone to a rest of season contract by one day, they’ll have room to make an additional signing on the last day of the season. The longer they delay signing someone to a rest of season contract now, the earlier they could make an additional one later.

Those rules on timing are crazy complex, Alan, and kind of archaic.

No problem, Z-man. Personally, Biyombo would be low on my list, anyway. I thought about Bol Bol, but he is presently employed by the Phoenix Suns (I confess to constantly confusing him with Mo Bamba, as their career arcs have been very similar). I *really* like Max’s suggestion of Skapintsev. I was very much pounding the table for him after his relatively consistent Summer League performances (13 and 7 in 17 minutes per game on 70 percent shooting [five games]), but had forgotten about him as the season wore on.

Boy talk about something that was massively over regulated. The CBA is kind of ridiculous. I hate it personally.

I’m deep in Gene Hackman rabbit holes on line watching some of his scenes. I realized that pretty much any movie he’s in is one that I’d stop and watch for a while. For example, I always loved watching Crimson Tide and would drop into it whenever it was on cable. And I realize now it was because Hackman is so mesmerizing that anything he’s in is worth watching. I find him the most intimidating actor I’ve ever seen. Must have been terrifying for young up and comers to work with him. What gravitas.

Huckporti got injured just 5 days after Thibs made him play a career high in minutes. It’s not a coincidence. He’s Denged up yet another key asset. Fans should be irate. And Huckporti should retain a lawyer.

Whatever the move, it’ll likely start as a 10-day. This prorates to the minimum, so it doesn’t lose them money, and will give us a bit more flexibility in case we need an emergency C or PG or whatever.

If we just want a random C till one of Mitch or KAT is ready, we could use a 10-day on them, then wait a day, and then sign a rest of season deal (more likely a second 10-day, then the RoS).

When I read some of this CBA stuff, I suspect we need a DOGE like review of the NBA because it’s probably wasting a lot of money on lawyers.

But if they delay signing someone to a rest of season contract by one day, they’ll have room to make an additional signing on the last day of the season. The longer they delay signing someone to a rest of season contract now, the earlier they could make an additional one later.

Actually more interesting than I thought, now that I’m re-reading it.

Effectively we could cut Delon or Shamet on the last day for someone new. If we wanted both Okeke and Warren or if we wanted to wait more days, we could get a 3rd player.

But where this is most important is if someone is injured, we could cut them on the last day and sign someone new. For example, if we sign TJ on day 1, then we’d be stuck with him through the playoffs even if he needed season ending surgery.

However, if we wait a day, we could replace him with a viable player at the last second. Same goes for any player that might get injured and we don’t intend to keep around long-term.

Donnie, I can’t tell whether or not you are kidding about Hu(c)kporti being “Denged up” five days after playing a “career high” in minutes.

First of all, the man is 22 years old. If he can’t play 19 minutes in a game, that’s a huge problem. (He also played 19 minutes against Toronto back on February 4, by the way, and he didn’t get hurt in or subsequent to that game.) And second of all, 19 minutes is far from his career high, anyway. He played 30 minutes against the Nets back on November 15 and didn’t suffer any ill effects from doing so.

Not sure what you’re talking about. Again, I concede that you may be kidding, or maybe sarcastic.

Guys he’s literally just saying that 1 day of minimum salary = 1 day of minimum salary.

There’s no complex series of rules, that’s just how math works.

What is the last day for playoff eligibility? To me, that’s the most important consideration.

    As I mentioned, I suspected as much. Thus, I didn’t. 🙂

Once again, Mark Williams, who was deemed too injured to play for the Lakers, had 26 and 16 last night. He’s averaged 15 and 11 over his past four games.

When I read some of this CBA stuff, I suspect we need a DOGE like review of the NBA because it’s probably wasting a lot of money on lawyers.

I don’t think you know what a DOGE review is

That veers into politics, which is (for some reason) the *only* topic that is forbidden here, although there are several others that I personally think should also be (namely bathroom activitiess and farting and sexual escapades, to name the most obvious ones). Anyway, I could write a lot about DOGE, but see how good I’m being? 🙂

I don’t think you know what a DOGE review is

Based on that comment, I’m certain you don’t.

Priorities are always debatable, but the need to reduce unneccessary spending in the US when it’s running a 2 trillion dollar deficit during a growth period is not. We are doomed economically otherwise and the cuts will be made by absolutely brutal markets otherwise.

Whoa. Hold up. I was admonished for doing pretty much the exact same thing. I applaud Strat’s right to write whatever he wants about that, but only if we can all do so.

That’s the great thing about plankton. It pretty much keeps to itself.

Totally out of context, as usual. I’m not plankton; nor do I personally associate with or know any plankton. 🙂

Priorities are always debatable, but the need to reduce unneccessary spending in the US when it’s running a 2 trillion dollar deficit during a growth period is not. We are doomed economically otherwise and the cuts will be made by absolutely brutal markets otherwise.

So then you would agree that if the party running DOGE also just passed a budget bill that adds trillions to the deficit in service of redistributing wealth upward and the tax burden downward, they don’t actually give a fuck about any of this?

I wasn’t talking to you. I’m continuing to mourn one of my favorite people I have never had the pleasure of sharing a meal with but I would trade several of my favorite meals ever to sit and have a coffee with. Carry on with whatever it is you’re on about.

I didn’t say nor did I ever think that you would be only “talking to me.” Whenever someone on here posts something they are obviously posting to the entire set of participants that are either on-line at that time, or who may read it later.

The only president to cut into the deficit in forever is Bill Clinton. He didn’t need DOGE to do it.

Trump ballooned the deficit during his first term even before COVID.

The republican before him ballooned the deficit AND created a massive banking crisis via deregulation.

Let’s see what happens when things like reductions SS, Medicare, Medicaid, and other social programs start hitting non-college-educated white folks. Oh, I forgot, the External Revenue Service is going to pay for that stuff, plus all the money saved cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. Plus all the money wasted on climate science and saving lives in poor nations.

Can’t wait till all of those beautiful sea walls start going up in Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, etc. on the backs of taxpayers in the blue states.

Wait. We can talk politics here now? Someone please let me know if the policy against it has changed over the past week or so, so I can post what I have to say about such things whenever I might feel a desire to do so, as well.

Correct Doogie, it was for everyone. I don’t think Gene had you in his minds eye when he delivered the line.

I forgot exactly whom it was here that dogged humphry bogart a few years back (basically saying he was simply always playing himself), hurt my feelings a bit because I was such a fan as a kid , but made me think about it…

I hope all is well for you today Clarence 🙂

okay then, tell me please if you had pick two very different characters gene played – which would they be?

Hart is questionable with right knee effusion. KAT questionable. Mitch questionable.

Is this one of those games a non-insane coach would dump in the toilet?

I should have never used the word DOGE. smh

I should have just said cut wasteful and unnecessary spending on lawyers at the NBA.

I should have known DOGE would trigger people.

To me, no matter how much you hate Trump and Musk and republicans, prioritizing our spending and looking for waste, fraud, unnecessary programs, failed programs and more efficient ways of doing things should have close to 100% approval when we are running a 2 trillion dollar deficit during a period of economic growth and with Medicare and SS demographics working against us strongly in the years to come.

To not do this would basically be economic suicide and guarantee that the payments themselves for those vital systems (which are NOT being cut) will eventually be gutted badly, taxes will become oppressive and inflation run rampant.

That’s not an assertion. It’s math.

Howd Geo, you mean like in Birdcage and in Mississippi Burning?

since we are all getting progressively older and perhaps even wiser – I wonder strat, just how sure/confident are you in the “things” you think you…

it’s funny, the more in depth I’ll dig in on a thing, the more I usually realize my initial thoughts were very limited or wrong altogether…

still remember this great high school teacher whom I had, who constantly preached “critical thinking”…question the veracity of everything…

at the time the teacher was referring to external sources of information…over time, I’ve come to think it may be even more important to challenge our own perspectives and beliefs…

what we think is real, may not be real at all…

To me, no matter how much you hate Trump and Musk and republicans, prioritizing our spending and looking for waste, fraud, unnecessary programs, failed programs and more efficient ways of doing things should have close to 100% approval when we are running a 2 trillion dollar deficit during a period of economic growth and with Medicare and SS demographics working against us strongly in the years to come.

But they aren’t really looking at waste/fraud/abuse or trying to lower the deficit. They’re usurping Congress’ power of the purse to target spending they don’t like politically, and increasing the deficit in a way that harms very many and helps very few, who don’t need help.

That’s why people “hate” them, because they are self-dealing grifters far more interested in feeling important and further enriching themselves than serving the national interest.

I still haven’t watched Birdcage, I’ll try to check it out…

met up with sis yesterday whom has done dognapped my dear doja darling…it’s funny, like me seems sis got the same family philosophy of life: everyone just go do your own thing…

gonna go hang out together tonight at this theater by palo alto to go catch Jazz Mafia playing…

every once in a while it actually pays off to leave the house…

Well he’s certainly not Daniel Day Lewis who’s also got a pretty good reputation.

Strat, in the interest of keeping the board clean of politics, all I’ll say is this: 1) I’m not triggered; you are simply uninformed, 2) if you don’t believe me, seek out the equivalent of your spreadsheet stats about what programs are being cut, what the savings are, what oversight is being removed, and what contracts Musk-owned companies have with which branches of the government. Leave aside the fact that the person don’t the cutting was not elected and has a team of kids with no security clearance doing the with with access to some highly classified and/or personal information – just get the data. Actions, not words, my friend. Yes, we all agree with the words. But don’t take the words at face value; seek out information about the specifics.

Sorry, Alan. Tried to keep it neutral.

Anyway, “I was gonna make espresso” is over of my favorite film lines.

And his soliloquy about the “green hills, black roads, red leaves” etc in THE BIRDCAGE is a freaking triumph.

Alan, personally and respectfully, I’m fine with a reasonably civil discussion of politics that doesn’t either turn ugly or last very long. There’s a lot of thoughtful folks on this blog and I, for one, have a little bit of interest in what they think about these unprecedented times. You often advise people to scroll over things that they don’t want to read, so I would suggest the same to you. Unless, of course, the conversation turns ugly.

Come to think of it, I can’t honestly think of a bad Gene performance. He was even good in throwaway stuff like ENEMY OF THE STATE.

And also, I would rather discuss politics than rehash why RJ is better than OG for the billionth time.

Geo – he’s Jordan level. Everything he did is worth keeping with you. Everything. He’s as good as anyone and in my estimation better than all but a very very small few.

Respectfully, Z-Man, I think this is an order of magnitude different from that. Some very dark shit is happening in the world, and the country, right now. There are days and times when I am prepared to reckon with that, and days when I need to be able to focus on the things I can actually control. At those latter times, I do everything within my power to tune that stuff out. On social media, I can mute various keywords. I can avoid going to certain sites. But if I’m on here and I’m seeing these subjects come up, in any context, by anyone on any side, at a moment when I was not preparing for it, it can derail me for quite some time after.

There are plenty of places everyone here can go to learn about and argue about this stuff. When we go off-topic otherwise, it is always about relatively benign things. I don’t care about, say, what kind of guitar to buy, or certain restaurants, or what have you, but if I happen to come across a conversation about that, I just scroll past, no harm, no foul. This ain’t that.

whenever I think of KB and politics I kind of think about you now Al and your complete and absolute disdain for the subject…

which makes me kind of wonder why it has such a triggering effect on you, and if in your personal life you are absolutely inundated with the subject…

I do though appreciate all the effort everyone puts in to making this a comfortable space for us all…

been in my head a bit for a while, before I forget just want to say how much I respect your ability to adjust your posting Pags…seriously man, it’s fucking awesome and impressive…I know it’s not easy…much respect for that senor…

Edit: I see you’ve already answered my question Al, thank you for sharing that…a deeply touching subject for yourself, filled with fears…

Yes, I’m sure the monstrous tax cuts that are going to be handed out to the very richest people in society will do wonders for the deficit.

Ps – Owen, Nickel Boys is a powerful important story. I enjoyed watching it. Only one I haven’t seen yet is I’m still here which looks great. Get to enjoy it with a burger at the Nighthawk tonmorrow.

it’s funny, I’m in my low 60’s now, if you had asked me a few years ago what fears I had – I would have come up with maybe spiders and snakes…

it’s only been the last year or so since I’ve really begun examining what fears exist within me (lots and lots) and how they may limit me…

turns out I’m full of fears, it’s so weird how well they can hide, sometimes in plain sight…

    1. geo is a poet now: “full of tears…….how well they can hide, sometimes in plain sight”
    2. Never seen anyone call Alan “Al” before today; interesting
    3. If Gene Hackman made any errors over his entire career in accepting a role, it had to be for Birdcage…….not because of his individual performance, of course…….but because it was simply a bad movie

We’re passing a $4.5 trillion tax cut, offset with $2 trillion in alleged spending cuts. But it’s all good, because we’re saving a couple million bucks by no longer providing malaria nets and HIV antivirals to the global south.

    #DOGE

It’s only OK to discuss politics (I’m all for it) if we are *all* allowed to do it.

I’m with Alan. Let’s change the subject before the stupid just overwhelms the entire thread.

Brandon Sproat just threw a scoreless inning and generated three ground balls. Discuss.

Can’t. Have no idea who Brandon Sproat is. I follow baseball enough to play daily fantasy during the summer when basketball and hockey are finished but football hasn’t started yet, but I’ve literally never heard of him. If he’s a rookie, though, that would make sense.

Anyway, “I was gonna make espresso” is over of my favorite film lines.

I still can’t believe he said “You heard me, Coltrane”.

It’s only OK to discuss politics (I’m all for it) if we are *all* allowed to do it.

You’re allowed to discuss politics, Doogie. People are just gonna yell at you when you do. Because you’re also allowed to yell at people for discussing politics.

I would like to thank the Los Angeles Rams for saving the New York Giants from themselves at least for one day, but reupping with Matthew Stafford — an excellent quarterback who is also 37 and would be a bandaid on a bullet wound for a team at the Giants’ spot at the lowest possible end of the win curve. I look forward to seeing what stupid and desperate move Joe Schoen will try now. Is there a limit to how many draft picks he can give up to trade for Sanders?

ETA: God, even worse than I could have possibly imagined:

    @DMRussini
The New York Giants are now shifting their interest to Aaron Rodgers. They’ve been discussing it all week in Indy per sources.

I am 100% with Alan on this. I fruitlessly spend all of my waking hours trying to stem the tide of environmental destruction (and how’s that going, Raven?). I come here for brief respites from the horror, to hear about and talk about ANYTHING else, often basketball but sometimes bagels or music or even someone’s gaseousness. Bringing politics here, even if it’s positions I agree with, is literally like being slapped in the face. Or punched in the groin.

So please just don’t. Leave this one place unsullied. Z-Man, if you’re desperate to hear what others think about this topic, start a new site somewhere and invite folks to talk about it there. I really don’t want to leave this place, but I also really hate being punched in the groin.

If you haven’t done your own research into Musk’s claims of fraud, that’s on you. Or the issues that will be caused from these firings, that’s also on you. Look into them elsewhere.

I blame, Mara, Alan. If you believe in this regime, give them job security. If you don’t believe in them, fire them. Giving them a mandate to improve quickly because you’re running out of patience is literally the worst thing you can do.

Schoen needs to be banned from trading up.

I probably shouldn’t expect to ever see my tax refund once they see in their databases that I didn’t vote for Trump. I’d rather owe money this year and send it to the tumbleweed rolling around the former IRS offices. There is no one there anymore to notice if I even paid my taxes other than the tumbleweed, and I doubt that he cares.

Two scoreless from Sproat, including a strikeout on a 99 MPH fastball. Looked crisp. Ace potential.

Opposite field HR from Soto too.

I think one of the QBs will probably fall to the Giants at 3, and if they don’t you just take BPA which would be Travis Hunter, who would be an incredible consolation prize.

No need for them to trade up.

The Giants are like watching OG go for a layup in slow-motion against Rudy Gobert

Why isn’t Travis Hunter slated to go first overall? Teams just always feel the need to go QB, I guess. I sort of get it.

It’s a very realistic possibility that he might be pushed out there ready or not because of that.

If you put your effort and concentration into playing to your potential, to be the best that you can be, I don’t care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game, in my book we’re gonna be winners!

I blame, Mara, Alan. If you believe in this regime, give them job security. If you don’t believe in them, fire them. Giving them a mandate to improve quickly because you’re running out of patience is literally the worst thing you can do.

Schoen needs to be banned from trading up.

Oh, this is 99% Mara’s fault. Delusional idiot failson. But even a GM desperate to appease his fantasies of competitiveness should be able to make a smarter pivot than trying to bring in A-A-Ron.

Pass rushing is at such a premium that the #1 pick could easily be Abdul Carter, edge rusher. He’s going #1 in a lot of mocks.

My team, the Raiders, should consider trading up.

The New York Giants are now shifting their interest to Aaron Rodgers. They’ve been discussing it all week in Indy per sources.

This is actually the best case scenario, and the one all Giants fans should be rooting for.

    1. Sign Aaron Rodgers.
    2. Draft either Hunter or Carter at 3.
    3. Lose 15 games again.
    4. Clean house and draft a QB next year.

But they won’t, Hubert. They are destined to win at least 4-5 games and again draft outside the range where all the QBs are.

if huk being injured is pushing the org to “rushing” mitch back (i.e., ahead of plan) that would be hard to understand given how “patient” they’ve been to date in not pushing him back…if he does play…assuming he doesn’t foul out in like five or ten minutes…he probably won’t/can’t exceed 20

Just wandered through the latest silly Ringer rankings of NBA players.

To irk folks basketball-wise, here’s where some players stand on the list:

Brunson and KAT are 13 and 14 respectively, just after KD and AD and before Booker and Mobley.

That pointless wastrel OG is 56, after Porter JR and before Gordon.

Mikal is 58, after Gordon and before Gobert.

Hart is 69, right after iHart.

RJ is 73, right after Dejounte Murray (I know who’s not on this committee…)

    And Randle is 78 now.

There seems to be a near-certain chance that either Ward or Sanders will be there at 3. I’d like to think even the Giants can’t fuck this up.

I agree with you, but then again, a lot of things that are done are hard to understand.

Just wandered through the latest silly Ringer rankings of NBA players.

Seeing Mitchell at 8 made me laugh at myself for thinking him and Brunson was a bad idea.

The Giants are like watching OG go for a layup in slow-motion against Rudy Gobert

don’t watch them much, haven’t for a while. still got some old merch somewhere, in a box…

I would have given up on the knicks for about a decade or so while they stunk, on and off the court, if not for you all…

bad basketball watching for way too long, small price to pay 😊

the yanks have been a solid bet for decades, except for like the mid 80’s to mid 90’s…

Is being under one’s career average for points per game, free throws, and steals per game really considered to be “shining”? The *team* is shining, and I don’t think that Donovan Mitchell is the biggest reason for that.

fruitlessly spend all of my waking hours trying to stem the tide of environmental destruction

not sure how you view it, some might think though that you’re focused on preserving god’s creations…

turns out there’s a lot of really high level programming and coding going on in those things, still…miraculous nonetheless…

securing the most valuable resource of all for many – time…

future is the future, you helped slow planetary decay…

I’m going to have to ponder “future is the future” for a bit. Again, kind of poetic. Thanks, geo.

Best player available wins every time (with regard to position).

If they don’t have the two QB rated ultra high, take the higher rated pass rusher, OT or corner.

A fierce pass rush made Mahomes look like prime Daniel Jones in the Super Bowl, throwing highly inaccurate passes and bad interceptions. Beating the crap out of Brady in both Super Bowl wins allowed inferior Giant teams to win.

If they have Saunders or Ward rated top 3 in the draft… pick away. I’m not sure that’s the case.

Saw the Knicks post about today being the anniversary of the day Ewing’s number was retired. I remember the game was on ESPN and they showed the entire halftime ceremony, I’ll admit I got emotional watching it that night.

I love Brunson and if the Knicks win a title with him it might change my opinion but for me Ewing will always be my favorite Knick.

The Raiders needed a QB last year too, didn’t get one, and instead ended up with a guy who looks like a future Hall of Famer in Brock Bowers. Good argument for BPA.

I would think every team in the league would have Hunter as BPA, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he lasted until 4.

I think NFL drafts less in terms of BPA than, for example, is done in NBA drafts. NFL teams seem to think much more in terms of “positions of need.” Seems to make sense for the NFL.

wow, typed it all out, was proofreading – bam, browser crashed…in a manner that didn’t allow for those pages to restore, at all…

    i think maybe it’s a sign…it was a good story though…oh well…

    have a good day doogie…

Rodgers to the Giants (possibly) is only the second dumbest thing going on today and that’s a huge upset

I love Sproat and tried to trade for him in a fantasy league. He looks legit to me.

All good, geo. Thanks for trying. I’m sure it was a good one.

Browser crash? Are you using a device from 2010? 🙂

Sproat did not really throw a sinker much last year, but it was the main thing he worked on this season and he got several ground balls with it today. It looks like a rather nasty sinker to my eyes.

Joel Embiid is out for the season, Sixers say.

[extremely fake Seinfeld voice] That’s a shame.

Mitch coming back on the day that Embiid gets shelved for a very long time is perfect.

league sources tell The Athletic that the Mavericks and Timberwolves informally discussed the prospect of swapping Dončić for 23-year-old, three-time All-Star Anthony Edwards in the weeks before the Lakers deal went down. More specifically, Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison reached out to the Timberwolves and asked if there was any chance they’d be willing to trade Edwards. He was promptly told no. The Timberwolves, league sources say, were stunned that Dallas was contemplating parting ways with Dončić.

Speaking of Daniel Jones, if I’m a team with a good line and decent players around me I’d definitely give him a cheap deal to be my backup. I can see him having a revival. Or maybe a vival.

It is some poetic justice but I kind of love Joel. He’s a classic heel and you need that in an entertainment product. Going to miss him.

okay, take two, not necessarily a shorter version…

despite going to a year long preparatory school prior to college, i still massively struggled early on…whole freshman year had that drowning feeling of being in over my head…

acts of kindness from others during that period still stand out to me…friend named bruce invited me to the sunday brunch at the hotel thayer, really nice old place…his dad was visiting…his dad was a plastic surgeon in the city, bruce would light up even more than usual when he spoke of him…

turns out his dad was a force of nature…super sharp with his words and wit…i have a great respect for honesty and hard work, i’m entranced though by folks whom can think deep, fast and express themselves sharply…not many folks can do that…

after the second time the attractive young server interrupted us with some mundane banal chatter, he dressed her down at some length…in the military you see that happen, outside of that not so often…

pointed out her position in life, where she fit at that moment…

    mesmerized me…brutally honest…

i’m not calling you stupid doogie, and people can be smart in a lot of different ways…the emotional intelligence you display here though is significantly lower than what i presume your age to be…

you behave as someone whom is still a teenager…it’s why you miss so much stuff…

that makes me not trust you, you are too immature to deal with…

i’ve perceived some of your posts to have a bigoted tone to them, that makes me not like you…

    i don’t trust you, i don’t like you…

not to say i’ll always feel that way, people change…although, my basis/foundation is one of distrust when it comes to most things…

i believe though that you have an issue respecting the boundaries of others – part of the social immaturity stuff…part of therapy, and most “self-help” programs emphasize the boundaries stuff…

you seem to be blessed with others in your life, they know you the best, see you at your most honest, hopefully they continue to motivate you to be a better person, as those who i’ve let close have done for me…

Not sure what I did to you, geo. LOL I didn’t say anything immature or in any form bigoted. I am allowed not to like what you like. I am not now, nor have I ever been, bigoted in any way. I absolutely was not raised that way, and that’s how I know I haven’t displayed any supposed bigotry here. And if I “miss stuff” on here, it has nothing to do with immaturity, either emotional or otherwise. It occurs almost exclusively when someone posts something without any context, often out of the blue. Anyway, I’ve been acting much more in a way that people have asked for me on here lately, so this is a very odd time to attack me for…….well, for nothing at all.

    Ah, well.

Time to trade for embiid, while his value is at an all time low. Those shaky bones are just what we need! 🙂

Geo, I’m so glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read your post or it would have flown out of my nose. Talk about a violent plot twist halfway through.

I won’t defend Doogie because he still consistently annoys me, but I will acknowledge he is doing MUCH better. So thank you for trying, Doogie.

One thing I learned in my short 15-year stint in publishing — write to your audience. Don’t think about what you’re saying, think about how they will interpret it.

I would say over 50% of your ‘no context’ complaints are baseless, I usually get the context and not quite sure why you don’t. And I’ll add that you’re frequently guilty of contextless statements. YOU may know exactly what you’re talking about, but at least I frequently don’t.

Anyway, enough. Keep up the good work and do your damnedest not to respond to EVERY comment of Clarence’s…

And geo, life is good, the sun is shining, it’s Friday afternoon, the Knicks will be on soon… and I will add that the dad in your story sounds like a soulless prick. Dressing down the wait staff is the lowest of behaviors. Seriously, narcissistic power play. Shame on all who do it.

Either the Celts or the Cavs will *definitely* lose tonight. I 100 percent guarantee it.
