That said, Javonte Green is the very definition of a replacement-level player.

You say this like it’s a bad thing. My kingdom for a replacement-level player.

Landry Shamet, Matt Ryan, Tyler Kolek, Delon Wright, Pacome Dadiet… these guys are all way below replacement-level. So is TJ Warren and everyone else we’ve been naming. The drop off from Bridges, OG, and Hart to our next wing is precipitous, hence the excessive work load for all of them.

To say he couldn’t stick with New Orleans is wrong. Their season is over and his contract is up. They released him so he could earn himself some money next year and find a new job.

Whatever, he’s a Cav. I knew we forfeited the opportunity to afford depth a long time ago but I thought we’d at least be able to compete in the buyout market. It’s a bummer that we can’t, but probably won’t make a difference this year.

Don’t we have to wait until March to sign players and stay under the apron? Would it be wise to forfeit that goal when we’re only 8 days from it?

It’s creepy how Leon has been actively sabotaging his team, and now we have to contend with a screenwriter and a proofreader practicing romcom all over the court. Life is such a circus.

If Javonte were all that great, someone would have traded for him. He’s probably around the same level as Delon, or Shamet if he hits a few more 3s.

Don’t we have to wait until March to sign players and stay under the apron? Would it be wise to forfeit that goal when we’re only 8 days from it?

We are literally not allowed to go over the second apron. It’s not about avoiding the penalties of that level; it’s against the rules of the CBA for us to go over it this season. So, yes, we have to wait until March to sign Warren or anyone else.

Looking at it, I think Mitch & Cam are probably better than their 5th best player (Dean Wade?). Deuce is around that level, possibly better.

I don’t have a fucking romcom with anyone here, least of all *that* guy (that would be Clarence and geo), and I’m definitely not a fucking proofreader. As always, just scrolling through this morning’s first posts and seeing myself refrerenced this way when I’ve been doing absolutely nothing and barely posting at all is a bit tilting, to say the least.

And I know that there was a typo in “referenced,” as well, so thanks in advance, but no need.

Chill, Doogie. I have no idea what darules was talking about, but it didn’t seem to be you.

Okey-doke, but it definitely did kinda seem that way to me, and without any clarification to the contrary…….well, it still does kinda seem that way.

hubert, you have had a bit of a fixation with Javonte Green for a while, and I truly don’t understand why. There is nothing in his stats to suggest that he is anything other than a total scrub.

I don’t think he is nearly as good as Shamet and TJ Warren, and I doubt that Leon would have pursued him over either of those guys even if he could have. He is likely not better than Delon Wright or Matt Ryan to the degree that it might make a difference. Again, Cleveland had no choice but to sign a 14th player due to CBA rules, and he became available, so whatever.

I don’t get why anyone would compare him to Kolek, Dadiet, or McCullar, those are the rookies with upside that folks have begged Leon to stock the end of the bench/2-ways with rather than confirmed scrubs like Ryan, Wright, or Javonte.

Then there’s the small fact that we can’t sign anyone before March 1, which has been said numerous times over the last month, maybe more. So we’re not competing with anyone right now.

Technically, Green was waived, not bought out, so we are not being outcompeted in the “buyout” market. Being bough out would suggest that he was making substantially more than the vet’s minimum. Sometimes those players are actually good.

I wonder..with Hart out tonight, does Thibs start Deuce and give Wright some burn with the 2nd unit? Or does OG return and Achiuwa starts and bumps OG and Bridges down to SF and SG? I kinda wanna see what Wright does against Chicago, where we usually have trouble with their guards

The damn thing just writes itself. The Knicks is a common interest that shows the two polar opposites that they have an emotional connection. As they come closer, the proofreader’s safe world is dented, and the writer’s rebelliousness hits the soft walls of middle class tranquility. Cyber is the good friend who consults, Hubert is the angry ex, Alan plays himself, and Z-Man walks around with a big stick, beating up on everyone. LFG!

Javonte Green was available to 29 teams for a single second round pick, likely even a protected one, and there were no takers.

I am much happier rolling the dice on the 0.0000000001% chance we get Bubble T.J.

Yep, more evidence that it was indeed about me, even as I’m attempting to keep a low profile. But just as I wasn’t a proofreader when this day began, I’m also not one now.

You’ve been doing great, Doogie. Have a thick skin and let it go. Otherwise you get the big stick.

Bubble T.J.’s stats look even better when removing that last 22-point loss to Miami.

Facing the Bulls while dealing with a bunch of nagging injuries is at least theoretically a good opportunity to see if Wright has anything left in the tank. We could really use someone like the 2022-2023 version, but alas, my guess is he’s cooked.

I’m also hoping KAT shoots a ton of 3s tonight and shows the rest mostly put the thumb concerns to bed.

And let’s ensure that Coby White of the 37 percent 3-point shooting percentage (honestly, I thought it was a little bit worse than that) does not shoot 9-of-11 from that range against us again tonight.

KAT has scored 40+ points against the Bulls in both games (9-of-19 on total threes). Will this be his third 40-point game in a row?

These Bulls always seem to play their hearts out against us, not sure what we did to them to get them so fired up

Anyone remember that playoff-seed relevant game where their season was over but they took us to the wire out of spite/pride/moxie?

Yeah, that was the OT game that resulted in us going up against Philadelphia in the first round of last year’s playoffs, I believe, much to the chagrin of many here. I believe that Cap had 40 or so points in that one.

“I knew we forfeited the opportunity to afford depth a long time ago but I thought we’d at least be able to compete in the buyout market.”

The cap maneuvering it took to make the trades for Mikal and KAT while not taking back more salary or going over the first apron hard cap, while also drafting a guaranteed salary first rounder, and also meeting the 14 contracted players on the roster minimum, border on genius. Just the Duane Washington Jr. move was magic.

Whatever implication that has for roster spot #15 is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things, especially when the player to fill it on March 1 has been assumed to be TJ Warren all along. I’m with TNFH in hoping that he can recover enough athleticism to play in a pinch. He has looked excellent in the G-League.

Unfortunately, I agree with Brian that whoever we sign is a moot point, as that player is likely to be “Fournier’d” and never see the light of day in Thibs’ rotation, even if we have injuries or are up or down by 20 points in a game with 2 minutes remaining.

The Shams quote is real. I don’t have a Bovada account.

    NBACentral
    @TheDunkCentral
Shams Charania says Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to stay in Milwaukee, but if he doesn’t see sustained long-term success there, he will look elsewhere

    NBACentral
    @TheDunkCentral
The New York Knicks are the favorites to land Giannis Antetokounmpo, per
    @BovadaOfficial

    New York Knicks +400
    Brooklyn Nets +450
    Miami Heat +600
    Los Angeles Lakers +800
    Los Angeles Clippers +900
    Houston Rockets +1100
    Golden State Warriors +1200
    Toronto Raptors +1600
    San Antonio Spurs +1800
    Oklahoma City Thunder +2000

The Bulls are a little bit different post-Zach LaVine trade. They are pretty stocked with backcourt size…Coby, Giddy, Ayo, Huerter, Lonzo, Terry…plus scrappy players like Tre and Jevon. All of those guys, especially Coby, can get hot from 3. They should have problems stopping us, though.

I don’t see how we could possibly be the favs to land Giannis unless he insists that its us or he won’t re-sign. OKC can outbid us by a country mile and not decimate their team. To a lesser degree, so can Houston, Orlando, Detroit, Memphis, and some others.

I’m out of the pining for Giannis business until there’s at least a whiff of evidence that he might wind up here.

    FROM SHAMS:

Just In: The NBA has suspended Milwaukee Bucks’ Bobby Portis for 25 games for violating the league’s anti-drug policy, sources tell ESPN.

Agent claims he took Tramadol when he meant to take Toradol.

We would be pretty limited in any Giannis trade scenario, it would have to be KAT or something like OG + Mitch. Can’t see us outbidding the Thunder unless the Bucks are really desperate to be a fringe playoff team.

I could see Giannis insisting on a big market team like us (or the Lakers, of course).

After spending the first half of his career in a small market, he may not want to go to a small market like OKC again, even if they are loaded.

How do we get Giannis? My wife hasn’t watched a Knicks game since Linsanity but that would do the trick.

We would have to trade KAT right?

Would have zero regrets on that one. Giannis only a year older.

Does Tramadol make your eyes bulge out?

I just appreciate that TJ is a 6’8″ wing. No more 6’4″ers, please…

Agent claims he took Tramadol when he meant to take Toradol.

What effect does Tramadol have on his eyes always popping out of his skull?

    Edit: dammit Raven

Yanks just reupped Aaron Boone for another two years. Sigh. Apparently a very good clubhouse manager, but the guy has zero feel for in-game tactics.

It’s very fertile source material, darules… meet cute at? Does it just happen one night? On a bus? At a deli?

Alan, firming up my new Mets fandom.

Giannis is pretty close to being too big to be gotten. He’s gotta get you.

Between the Boone extension and my general skepticism of this current Yankees team, and all the rumors about the thirsty and stupid Giants wanting to trade for Matthew Stafford, I now have to invest all of my sporting hopes and dreams into the Knicks. There’s no way that could come back to hurt me, right?

KAT would be the best player that is “gettable” that The Bucks could get if they traded Giannis.

Alan the Yankees are heavy favorites to win the AL pennant again, you know how much I also love the Knicks but if your gonna put all your hopes and dreams into one team this year it should definitely be the Yankees.

No “meet cutes” for me, thanks. I barely know what one is, and I prefer it to stay that way.

BBA, that’s mostly because the AL is so much weaker than the NL at the moment. The circumstances in which they could beat the Dodgers or one of the other top NL teams feel like 99th percentile outcome stuff that I would not bank on from this regime.

Red Sox will be much improved and the Astros will always be a problem if they get in a series with the Yankees. The Yankees own the AL Central, but they may not get that lucky in the playoffs this upcoming season.

Does it just happen one night? On a bus? At a deli?

Oh, I dunno, the writer invents outrageous words that nobody gets and needs a steady hand to tone it down. Cyber recommends this Portuguese guy who works on the docs at the tech company, a stickler for details who memorized the dictionary. They meet in a donut shop to discuss working together. It’s an absolute nightmare. They never want to eat together ever again.

Sorry BBA. I’m with Alan on this Yankees business. Their lineup is atrocious. They have no DH and no 3rd baseman. I’ll believe Volpe Jasson and Wells can be dependable 750+ OPS guys when I see it.

I’m not a (screen)writer any more than I’m a proofreader, so there’s that. Fortunately, that lets me out of that whole ri-dick-ulous scenario—maybe hubert was right in the first place!—as I hold none of the roles that have been mentioned…….so have fun with it, you two! 🙂

Yankees may not have the Dodgers roster but they’re still really fucking good. I would be disappointed if they don’t approach 100 wins which they haven’t done since winning 103 in 2019 although they did win 99 games in 2022.

I could see Dominguez being moved to DH early on if Stanton isn’t ready and letting Grisham play everyday in the outfield.

Yep, more evidence that it was indeed about me, even as I’m attempting to keep a low profile. But just as I wasn’t a proofreader when this day began, I’m also not one now.

I wouldn’t sweat it, Doogie. Nothing he wrote made any sense. Neither has anything he’s ever written, for that matter. “He” is probably a bad AI bot trying to write himself into existence.

The Yankees were just in the World Series. Much as I lament the team construction and bone headedness, playing dumb baseball is just potential that hasn’t been realized yet.

And if Judge ever figures out how swinging a bat differs in October from the rest of the year, the Yankees have a shot.

But generally, yeah they suck relative to their resources. They’re a high-dollar team but a low dollar-efficiency team.

Also they suck. Boone is terrible. Cashman is terrible.

    From Shams

Statement from Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management: “The overwhelming sentiment, after conferring with multiple, nationally recognized doctors, is that the Los Angeles Lakers should not have failed Mark Williams on his

Sure, the Yankees were “in the World Series,” but only as the doormats in the Dodgers’ World Series coronation.

Representing the current American League is not the kind of achievement that should be generating extensions for people who suck at their job.

Keep going Darules. Good word of advice – its never the first thing you think of.

Really looking forward to the stretch run as Owen named it. Would’ve taken in a heartbeat a 2/3rds Mitchless winning rate, no long term injuries, Mitch on the verge of coming back, and no locker room issues, on day one , irrespective of to whom and /how we lost a third of our games.

Plan.on enjoying it by ignoring the gripers who need to gripe and the ignore-the-Knicks-look-at-me posters.

Agent claims he took Tramadol when he meant to take Toradol.

Just when I think Doogie has no purpose in life, Bobby comes along and proves me wrong.

Williams has a heck of a case in the court of pay me motherfuckers you put dirt on my name.

Sorry. Do not agree at all the Yankees will approach 100 wins. The pitching staff is impressive. Top 2-3 in the sport. The lineup will be bottom 1/3 as currently constructed. There are 5-6 possibly below average to terrible lineup spots. Not sure how you see that lineup approaching 100 wins. Hope I’m wrong.

The Yankees are a mezzanine team, but in MLB that’s not bad because you don’t have a second apron or hard cap that keeps you there.

I’m mostly speaking relative to other teams, namely the Jets and Giants. Those teams objectively suck by any measure. The Yankees are, at worst, decent.

On the contrary, Owen, the Yankees’ standards have leveled down. Way down. I can’t remember the last manager they had a manager as bad as Aaron Boone. It was probably Bucky Dent… which is kind of amazing when you think of his symmetry with Boone… but he only lasted a year. Boone seemingly has a job for life.

Wow, I don’t follow the Yankees at all, but if consistently winning and getting to the World Series and so on gets this kind of grief, I have serious concerns about this site in a few years after a consistent winning stretch by the Knicks…

Baseball is the most random of the major sports. The Dodgers predictably won, but the year before they were pretty equally formidable and didn’t. Meanwhile the Mets had no business being in the NLCS and gave the Dodgers a decent series that could have turned on variance.

The Yankees should make the playoffs again, might make some moves during the season to fortify weaknesses, have an awesome closer (for now, they run hot and cold, except for Mariano) and a very solid pitching staff in general. Freddie and Mookie are no spring chickens, Yamamoto is far from lights out, Ohtani might be injury prone.

I can’t even get excited about baseball until after the NBA finals. The season doesn’t get going until after the all-star break.

    The Wemby news is unexpected.

Spurs have like a 75% chance to win the lottery again based on historical win rates.

Yikes on Wemby… we are lucky to be alive in a time when they can catch these things.

DVT. I know someone that died from it. Hope everything gets resolved successfully.

Generally if you have it once you have to worry about it always.

    Tips for Bobby:

PCP rocks are not the same as Pop Rocks (and don’t chase either of them with Goldschläger).

“molly ho” in your buddy’s contacts is neither Irish nor Korean.

“‘Roids” can refer to both steroids and hemorrhoids. Make sure you know whose company you are in before complaining about either.

That’s actually truly awful advice. Sometimes it is *indeed* the first thing that you think of. And I have more purpose in life than you’d ever know. LOL

Generally if you have it once you have to worry about it always.

I predict that after the Spurs finish tanking we will never hear about it for the rest of his career.

What exactly am I supposed to be “letting go” of? I’m not upset about anything, and am having quite a good day.

If you don’t know that yourself, then nothing I say can possibly help you. 🙂

Sucks that the last thing Wemby will be remembered for in his second season is trying to skirt the rules on a meaningless All-Star competition.

I still am. I’m not the one who brought myself up first thing this morning.

Wow, the Spurs possibly starting 6-8 Sochan at center is worse than what we are doing with Precious. At least Precious is over 240 pounds, while Sochan is barely 230.

Maybe they’ll start Mamukelashvili instead. That would make a little bit more sense, at least from a physical perspective.

busy day today…new challenge is showing up to doc stuff, heck all stuff with my vitals (blood pressure, pulse, sugar) under control…

the josh hart stuff is a bit off, what was he doing, skiing are something…

to be “off” and have your knee become inflamed, swollen…

shoot I’m old, it could have happened to him while he was sleeping, just bent in the wrong direction…

Thank god they found it, thank god there was an inkling that they tested for it, and thank god the medical team at the Spurs had the internal gravitas to shut him down.

Ummmmmmm……. Josh Hart won’t even be 30 until a couple of weeks from now.

Geo, Josh’s condition is likely less injury a la minute and more accumulated trauma. They were hoping the break would let it pass. It hasn’t.

I highly doubt the Yankees will be in the bottom 1/3 in the league in either runs scored or wRC+. Lineup should look something like this:

    LF Dominguez 112 (projected)
    RF Judge 218
    CF Bellinger 109
    DH Stanton 116
    2B Chisholm 110
    1B Goldschmidt 100
    C Wells 105
    SS Volpe 86
    3B Cabrera 88

Those are all the wRC+ numbers for the starters from last year, plus the projected number from Dominguez. Only two hitters under 100 in the lineup, one of whom is a Gold Glove caliber shortstop.

They ain’t gonna be in the bottom third of the league. It might not be an elite offense, but it should not be terrible. A couple of those guys might fall off a bit due to age, but a couple could easily improve due to development.

Bottom third offensive teams had a 95 wRC+ or lower last year.

I can now no longer say I have never watched any part of Frozen. It was gonna be in my Forrest Gump and Titanic file.

I’m with you, except for the fact that I can still say it. I saw what it was and then closed the window immediately. LOL

Good word of advice – its never the first thing you think of.

I made one short. We filmed draft 16.

Awful, scary news about Wemby. Hopefully it’s a one-and-done surgery like Ingram’s was (putting aside Ingram’s other issues).

The Yankees should be very good, but I think their lineup is unacceptably shallow considering their resources, the fact that they were just in the World Series, and are built around aging stars.

How many starters would you be willing to bet substantial money will have a wRC+ of 100 or higher? Judge is a lock. Bellinger and Wells seem like pretty safe bets, though not locks. Jazz is above 50/50, though is one season removed from 101 and slightly over performed his batted ball data last year.

As for everyone else? I mean…

Goldschmidt was at exactly 100 last year and is a year older. Volpe’s never done it or come particular close. I’m excited for Jasson to get extended time, but he’s something of a black box at the moment. Stanton might not play much and might not be good when he does play. We might get the worst 3B production in the MLB if the plan really is to put together a hideous DJ/Peraza/Cabrera Frankenstein.

3-4 starters who are above average is just not going to cut it, both in terms of how far the team can go and how entertaining they’ll be to watch.

I was going to say the same thing about the Yankees except I don’t care about the Yankees. It would require something incredible to have a bottom third offense with a healthy Judge in the lineup.

Now take out Stanton and replace him with a below 100wrc+ hitter because they don’t have anyone better.

You were going to say it, and then you did. 🙂 I’m a Mets guy, too, born in Queens, so I could care less about the Yankees (although my Bronx Boy Dad would beg to differ).

I’m a Mets guy, too, born in Queens, so I could care less about the Yankees (although my Bronx Boy Dad would beg to differ).

*Couldn’t* quite understand what this means.

I can now no longer say I have never watched any part of Frozen. It was gonna be in my Forrest Gump and Titanic file.

I watched Frozen & Frozen 2 approximately 158 times during my son’s winter break in 2023.

Crazy news about Wemby. NBA injuries are so fucking scary, since they seem to just come out of nowhere sometimes. Fingers crossed for the Knicks’ collective health as we enter the second half!

    no locker room issues

that definitely makes a difference, talent makes more a difference, but…

as a casual nba and knicks fan prefer to have this to watch…easy to root for…

shamet had made some shots lately, let’s hope it continues…

I really feel like the rest of the season will be a big mitch watch…

Looks like the Wemby issue won’t be career threatening, which is good…Portis may have made a genuine mistake, right situation either way…and Josh needing a day after a week off isn’t awesome… But here comes the second “half” to the finish line. Who will be left standing?

‘Only two hitters under 100 in the lineup, one of whom is a Gold Glove caliber shortstop.’

Made me flash on the golden days of Bud Harrelson and Mark Belanger…

I guess the Wemby news means he doesn’t qualify for DPOY now. Shame because I thought he projected to be the runaway winner this season. Who’s next up? Giannis? My dark horse is Dyson Daniels right now. I thought Anunoby might have had a chance, but now I think Bridges is an even darker horse with his recent run of strong defense

I have a 3 and a half year old daughter. In the last year I have watched Frozen probably 20 times. And I have to say…it’s pretty good.

    Were you satisfied?

Yes. I had no idea what I’m doing (no film school, though a couple of pros helped me) and the thing came out good, went to a couple of festivals, including a great one for shorts in Paris. I don’t have a filmmaking career and not looking for one at this point, but the experience was great.

What are you working on now? Other than a romcom with none of the posters here haha.

IMO the Hart knee issue is in part due to Thibs. Hart ay have too much of that warrior mentality that plays through swelling and pain over the short term to the detriment of the long term, but Thibs abused his availability.

Holy schnikes! I’m going to need some time to process that story, Brian.

Darules – just finished a short doc that we’re gonna try to get into some festivals. It’s about contract bridge clubs. In the process of casting a feature that has put me in meetings with my childhood legends and is incredibly humbling and crazy. Getting ready to put another feature script into play about fabulism – used to think unaligned artificial intelligence would be the death of us and it’s looking more and more like it’s the unaligned human intelligence that will.

    Thibs abused his availability.

I agree. The anti minutes police can deny wear and tear all they want, it still exists.

IMO the Hart knee issue is in part due to Thibs.

Cute phrasing it like it’s a potentially far out idea you just stumbled on.

We all know it’s largely due to Thibs. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed.

Donnie made a great point last night regarding this. Thibs might bear responsibility here, he may not.

Great stuff, 3.0. I love fabulisms, working on a novel that is somewhere between that and more traditional scifi. Absolutely unaligned human intelligence will kill us first.

Donnie made a great point last night regarding this.

I don’t think he did. Running straight every day at the same pace is nothing like playing basketball.

He had a great joke about Bobby Portis, though.

Can’t remember whose 10-year-old is reading the blog, but tell them not to click on that link…yikes.

I think it’s pretty clear Josh Hart has this knee problem because he had a week off. If he had just continued to play 45 minutes of NBA basketball a night for the last week, he’d be fine.

Having Hart & Thibs together is a dangerous cocktail. It’s an infinite feedback loop of play harder.

Was doing some “research” watching a reality TV show about real estate something or others in New York where one of the “agents” staged a listing with artwork from Anna Delvey – painting while in prison. Kinda like a bot typing itself into existence – the crime maketh the man.

    Indeed, happy birthday ess-dog!

May your joyful celebrations extend past the end of the game tonight…

Just watched USA, Canada fight 3 times in the first 9 seconds of the game.

    Hockey is so stupid.

That’s the hockey game that already occurred. The game isn’t until 8:00 p.m. tonight.

Running straight every day at the same pace is nothing like playing basketball.

Sure, but the larger point is:

    wear =/= tear.

The low hanging fruit is more minutes equals more injuries.

The reality is, players are just as likely to tweak a groin slipping on the bathroom tile after a shower, or to throw their back out sneezing.

Pacome is back! (I didn’t know he was hurt in the first place)

Yeah, everyone in Westchester has been hurt except Jacob.

Warren had a concussion but is back.

Never figured out what happened to Dadiet, or maybe I forgot.

McCullar has a hamstring strain or something, his 2 g-league games are looking like the highlight of his career.

    Edwards:

Thibs said Josh Hart’s injury is day-to-day.

    “Just soreness.”

    and

Thibs on OG’s status for tonight: Said it’s up to medical and we’ll see.

Thibs’ “It’s up to Medical” basically = Belichick’s “We’re on to Cincinnati.” Both pretty much meaningless.

Yeah, I figured they might just be saving Hart for the bigger upcoming games by not playing him against a team that we should be able to beat without him tonight. Although we *have* lost both previous games to Chicago this season, and the first loss was largely because Hart absentmindedly fouled Coby White’s hair right near the end of it.

The reality is, players are just as likely to tweak a groin slipping on the bathroom tile after a shower, or to throw their back out sneezing.

Really? How often to do players injure themselves while not playing vs while playing?

Yeah Donnie, that’s a pretty wild take.

Anyway, hope you and yours are dealing with the aftermath of the fires as well as can be hoped.

I hear you, Donnie, and I have retired from the minutes police. I’m not saying wear = tear. But I don’t think we appear to be sensible when it comes to managing wear & tear when it exists. Maybe this Josh news is just that, but it’s more likely he’s been affected for some time and has played through it when it wasn’t wise to do so (and not just played through, but played excessively through it). It’s more if one of your runners had a bad ankle and wasn’t supposed to run, but ran away bc he was stubborn. Maybe for a while he’d be fine but the bill always comes eventually.

Would love to see a study of Knicks under Thibs and their injuries over that time compared to other teams. I think we have our fair share of injuries, but it sure seems like every team does. Some teams get lucky for stretches, some get unlucky. But not convinced we’re significantly worse off.

I will, however, continue to bellyache about five minutes left in a blowout and leaving the starters in. That’s just stupid on multiple levels (increased risk of injury just because they’re on the court, increasingly tired players as the season drags on, and of course no chance for the kids to get critically important in-game experience).

I don’t think it’s a wild take at all. It’s certainly not a common sense take. In this instance, it sounds like medical thinks that structural integrity is not at major risk and that Josh’s personal pain meter and tolerance are part of it. He might be signalling that he needs a break… longer than what he had and Thibs and company are saying okay. Should he have played less throughout the season so far possibly, probably…

Gotta go watch raging bull with the hubby, yay…boo

THE Raging Bull? Man, you couldn’t pay me to watch it again. But what a great movie.
