Looks like USA-CAN took the consolation game seriously…USA loses in OT. RJ with another solid performance. Brunson and Hart were meh. No reports of injuries. Mission accomplished!

Banchero, Jaren Jackson and Ingram couldn’t play due to illness, which was almost all their big men, and not good. Even so, Dillon Brooks scoring 39 points bodes well for the Rockets. They could be good this year. I would not be surprised if they are better than Dallas.

watching this show about getting data from some sub-glacial lake in antarctica…turns out, life is pretty much every where…

calcium deposits in caves from water seeping through, pollen data from earth cores, and microbe info from ice/water…

life’s in volcanoes, which seem like fairly inhospitable places…hops rides on meteors looking for planets to hook up with…

and at the bottom of lake mercer, which happens to be located at the bottom of the world…

i need to check to see what’s living up in the atmosohere, no doubt there’s stuff living up there too…

started watching the game, checked in here, then checked out of that game…i’m okay…

Wow, I’m stuck in Columbus, Ohio, and it’s more exciting than this site.

    Topic, topic, topic…

    Um, Obi Toppin, break-out season?

    Nah.

RJ Barrett’s FIBA play confirms any and all biases both for and against?

    Nah.

    JK47 rocks the casbah?

Well yes, but that’s already confirmed.

Life is hard over 32 km into the stratosphere as ozone isn’t there to protect from UV radiation?

    Wrong site.

Okay, I give up. Over to someone else.

    Binge rules:

    * A series I don’t like: stop watching in the middle of episode 3 at the latest.

    * A series I enjoy, like The Americans, or Ozark: maximum 2 episodes a weekday or 4 on a weekend day when I’m really bored, edgy, or when my girlfriend is away.

    * A series I absolutely love, like Deadwood or Lovecraft Country: no more then one episode a day, and maximum 4 a week.

    * Watching more than one series at a time: of course, at least 2, sometimes 3. Four would be too much.

    * Daily and weekly limits for the combined series: one plus the one series limit.

I just looked at the score. I expect the Giants to have trouble with Dallas since they always do, but that score is much much worse than that.

Raven, I agree with you, somehow we aren’t discussing basketball here much lately. I just suggested above that Dallas would be worse than Houston for the upcoming season, and I didn’t get a rise out of anyone.

Kfninj, I raised an eyebrow, but I don’t care enough about either team to think about it. Suffice to say I don’t expect a good game from Dillon Brooks to mean much against Doncic in the regular season.

This seems like the longest, most interminable, least eventful offseason ever. I’m ready for the hooping to start.

It’s not just Dillon Brooks. The Rockets have a coherent team this year with reasonable players at each position and I suspect the possibility of a good defense. I don’t think you can say that about Dallas. And if you have to pick coaches, Udoka is probably an edge I’ve Kidd.

Between the Dominguez injury and that Giants fiasco, I guess I will spend today avoiding all the sports websites I usually waste a lot of time on. Sigh.
