  1. It really annoys me that this Bulls team just feels like a superior team to us. They just play better basketball.

  2. Discombobulated personified at the moment.

    Taj ejected quick 2Ts

    EDIT: Obi gonna save us.

  3. I’m at the game and before it started i said Vucevic would get 26.

    That’s gonna be way off.

  4. DudeInKnicksTown:
    We’re out of control.

Julius has been complaining from the jump and just pushed Caruso off the court. Thibs saying all the right things, “put the officials out of your mind” but the players not doing it.

  5. lol Vuc has a .481 TS% this season-that’s way below his career average so it’s probably something fluky but lol

  6. I’m stuck with the Bulls’ feed and I just want to throw the TV through the window…

    We’re playing like smoking shit.

Question: is the sound I hear in the background Kemba’s laugh?

  7. I watched the first fifteen minutes on the bus to work (real time not game time). I didn’t think the Knicks looked very good. Little did I know they were the Knicks best fifteen minutes so far.

  8. Mitch has been terrible tonight. Even on the defensive end. He didn’t even contest that one dunk. He just watched it.

  9. cybersoze:
    We’re going to win this

Sorry I think exact opposite. We are going to get blown out. They have no composure. Emotionally drained from Tuesday. Everything for the Bulls is a dunk. This one is probably a blowout loss.

  10. Max: Believe me: I hate you ;-)

Haha. But we did get up the thread beforehand.

That bucket by Julius may be the first purposeful possession out of a timeout I’ve seen in a while.

  11. Toppin’s D on that last sequence. I’m telling you. This is the guy.

EDIT: Chip away. We can do this.

    KB Apprentice:
    Bulls are tiny.

Randle Obi > Randle Mitch tonight

  12. Max:
    OMG the missed dunk…

With the missed layup before, that’s two nice feeds from Obi wasted (I think).

  13. We’re playing with no desire whatsoever. And a lot of sloppy passes. Maybe today my prediction won’t be right… :(

  14. Can someone explain to me how these 2 teams looked evenly matched in the 2 games in Chicago and tonight we look like we don’t belong on the same court ?

  15. Fear not! A few BingBongHits at the half and we will come storming back in the third quarter!

  16. Randle a wrecking ball out there. Shouting at Fournier to end the half. Gotta get that guy some sleep.

  17. Knox will not save us.

    KB Apprentice:
Randle a wrecking ball out there. Shouting at Fournier to end the half. Gotta get that guy some sleep.

    Not a good look.

  18. I come in, turn on the game, and see Kevin Knox out there. Is this a dream…er…nightmare?

  19. Season high 69 halftime points for the Bulls.
    Randle 4 Turnover.
    Burks 0-5
    Rose 3 Turnovers
    Quickley 1-6
    Gibson ejected.

Sorry guys, I’ve seen enough. It’s 2:42 AM here, I’m gonna get some sleep.

  20. Eye bleed basketball. Everyone is awful. Bulls are better but this is humiliating — no fight, dumb dumb plays, carelessness … Giving this 5 mins in the third before I switch this off

  21. I don’t even think the bulls are that good… and I really mean that … our defense has been so dam bad it invokes real anger …

  22. Sorry, folks, my oven just broke out of nowhere about two hours ago and I’ve been taking it apart trying to fix it since then. It is not going well. ;)

  23. Brian Cronin:
Sorry, folks, my oven just broke out of nowhere about two hours ago and I’ve been taking it apart trying to fix it since then. It is not going well. ;)

pretty much the same situation at the Garden.

  24. let’s see how thibs spins this disaster in the presser…either they have tuned him out or just suck or both

  25. Like Mitch letting derozan take that jumper … that derozans spot … needs to understand … he missed but … then he just lets vucevic get easy bucket. man up bro … have some pride …

  26. This has been hard to watch. At least Knox got a little run. I feel sorry for the kid. At least it looks like he’s filling out physically.

  27. Here we go. The sativa starts to settle in, game slows down, the feel returns, rim looks huge, and we start making buckets.

  28. I can’t tell how much is his injuries and how much is the weight, but Mitch looks terrible on defense.

  29. I’ll take half a box of Crispy Cream for Randle. The price is falling.

I’m not sure how to define it, but some possessions and plays have greater “impact” on the flow and result of the game. If I could measure it properly, Randle would rate poorly.

  30. Single digits even though Randle is giving the Bulls two possessions each time down…

    Spoke too soon, once again.

  31. “ I can’t tell how much is his injuries and how much is the weight, but Mitch looks terrible on defense.”

All it took was that post to wake Mitch up!! Let’s GOOOOOOO

  32. Yes I’m here, I’m still here…
After more than 40 years, two Finals lost, Charles Smith, Reggie Miller, Roy Hibbert, thousand of fake comebacks…
    I still can’t shake this addiction…

  33. Brian Cronin:
Sorry, folks, my oven just broke out of nowhere about two hours ago and I’ve been taking it apart trying to fix it since then. It is not going well. ;)

That’s a job for Z-man. Fixed every appliance in my house at one point or another, glad you’re taking it on!

  34. Max: Yes I’m here, I’m still here…
After more than 40 years, two Finals lost, Charles Smith, Reggie Miller, Roy Hibbert, thousand of fake comebacks…

Me neither. But here it’s one hour earlier. :P

  35. Mitchell Robinson makes 1-foot alley oop dunk shot (Alec Burks assists)

Just wanted to paste that from the feed for all you haters.

  36. Raven:
Mitchell Robinson makes 1-foot alley oop dunk shot (Alec Burks assists)

Just wanted to paste that from the feed for all you haters.

    He jumped So late

  37. Worthless. Didn’t score and give up 3 … it’s imperative to make the challenge worth it … like really worth it

  38. So Mitch now plays like Julius early last year… 1st half, Bad Mitch… 2nd half, Good Mitch…

  39. As a Fournier booster, I particularly liked the shot of him explaining things to Julius on an iPad on the bench after getting shouted at multiple times.

  40. We take WAY too many mediocre or bad 3s. Granted, the defense plays a part in that, but we have to improve the quality of our shots. The PG situation is part of the problem also, but it’s not just that. The ball and player movement is not good. Too much standing around and dribbling.

  41. Randle … no words necessary … he’s getting beat so god dam much … in all different ways he gets beat …

  42. Bad corner 3 there. You have to at least try to get set or step into it. Way too many shots are off balance trash. There’s no law that says you have to shoot. Pass the damn ball.

  43. Down by 20 towards the end of the first. Down by 6 going into the fourth. Let’s go!

  44. cybersoze:
And remember, if we need we have our secret weapon… Kevin Knox! :D

Haha. Knox and Grimes +2 and +4 respectively, so …

  45. I don’t think Mitch has ever been the best conditioned athlete but aside from whatever leaping ability he’s lost through injury/weight gain/whatever he also looks exhausted

  46. This group of refs shouldn’t be allowed to officiate again. Three Magoos over there

  47. Burks doesn’t look for lob much if at all … he had toppin there and already made up his mind

  48. Z-man:
It’s really frustrating watching Vuc hit 3 after 3…

It must be nice to have a center that can space the court like that.

  49. Hey, remember when Mitch used to block 3s routinely? Yeah, he’s been awful all year on closeouts. He actually has looked better recently… except that last one

  50. if you’re going to leave mitch out there just have him switch onto Lonzo it’s not like Lonzo is really looking to drive and score

  51. “I don’t understand what’s going on ?!?!”… it’s unfortunate you can’t sense the tone of that statement via written text

  52. Quick looked like Frank on that finish. So frustrating watching these guys try to play basketball.

  53. Hubert:
I am not mad that we didn’t give up a player, a pick, and $80mm for Lonzo.

I feel like any one of these missed Lonzo 3s could be nail in coffin

  54. I’m not complaining about Fournier, but he could so much better if he’d set on some of his 3s or just not take those off balance moving ones unless it’s late in the clock.

  55. I feel like any one of these missed Lonzo 3s could be nail nail in coffin

I feel like he could have taken 10 straight corner threes and missed them all.

  56. Randle scares me down the stretch.

The dude loses his cool way too much and gets really sloppy.

  57. Problem with these close games down the stretch is the best players on the court are always on the other team.

  58. We need the equivalent of a curse jar very time Randle dribbles into traffic except he gets an electric shock instead. He had a very good game except for his Randleness

  59. It’s an L… we don’t know how to close … no closer … and our coach just makes shit up late …

  60. Raven:
Why is Derrick Rose taking a 26 foot three point shot down by two with 35 seconds to go?

Yeah, I love the guy, but that is not the right shot.

  61. Randle was great until… two missed free throws in the clutch and the turnover that decided the game.

  62. should have brought obi in…not Fournier….

also Randle is a turnover machine and couldn’t hit a clutch free throw if his life dependend on it…

  63. pepper:
should have brought obi in…not Fournier….

also Randle is a turnover machine and couldn’t hit a clutch free throw if his life dependend on it…

Randle shouldn’t phuckin touch the ball until he’s completely cleared out … he has no awareness and he can’t handle anything remotely close to a double team much less a quick hand … god dammit

  64. DeRozen hit some really tough shots. Levine hit one or two as well. DeMar really turned himself into a good player while nobody was watching in San Antonio

Grizzlies up 70 on OKC halfway through the 4th quarter.

  65. Well I was wrong about the blowout but we still lost.

Honestly though, I’m just so happy this team is fun to watch. Yeah it’d be more fun to win these close games, but at least we always have a shot.

  66. Are we allowed to say (eye test) that the team (always) plays way better when we run, and we are a complete disaster in half court sets?

EDIT: Obi showed a few moves off the dribble tonight. More each game. He needs to be used better.

  67. There’s a good bit of this on Thibs … whatever the hell was going on the Vooch PNRs … some of it on Mitch but also scheme and Thibs leaving Mitch out there when Mitch couldn’t move … we got a million breaks with Lonzo missing… we gotta win these close games … it’s getting old, quickly

  68. KB Apprentice: Are we allowed to say (eye test) that the team (always) plays way better when we run, and we are a complete disaster in half court sets?

Yes. And also your strategy of being down 20 is perfect, this team likes to do comebacks every game, so it’s best if we put ourselves down at the beginning to have more time to do it. LOL

  69. I was literally screaming for Randle to give the ball up before the Bulls got the game defining strip. He really needs to give the ball to guards in the 4th quarter and sit on the block. You’re not Kobe!!

  70. Well done guys, nice loss,
now we can concentrate on finding a way to lose saturday against a team without Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., PJ Dozier, Bones Hayland, Austin Rivers and Bol Bol…

  71. cybersoze: Yes. And also your strategy of being down 20 is perfect, this team likes to do comebacks every game, so it’s best if we put ourselves down at the beginning to have more time to do it. LOL

yes…because we run our offense through the human turnover…and iq or burks are not the answer at pg…thibs gotta earn his paycheck unless we make a deal to get a pg…

  72. We need a real starting PG and a #1 option. Randle is very good player, but he CANNOT be the #1 option with the ball in his hands dribbling, going ISO etc.. down the stretch. He’s a #2 or #3 option. He’s not good enough, doesn’t have a high enough basketball IQ, and can’t take the heat in big impact moments. That all sound harsh, but it’s not. He’s a very good player. He just can’t be the best player on a good team. I’m sure on some level management and Thibs know that, but Randle does not. He tries to do way too much, partly because he has to. It’s extremely frustrating to watch as a fan. We have to use those excess picks. We need an upgrade. I can only take so much of watching Randle get stripped, driving into traffic, missing clutch free throws etc.. down the stretch.

  73. Agree on Derozan. Those were very tough shots and he really made a late career leap.

Those Vuc threes were big too.

Also, the foul shots Taj cost us

  74. johnlocke:

    1 million %

  75. Early Bird: Guys, I think we’re bad.

No, we’re meh. But at least the games are amazing… on some parts amazingly bad, and on others amazingly good.

  76. The Bulls have a nice team. Not really contender though and they wont have a lot of roster flexibility if they max LaVine, but if I were a Bulls fan I’d be excited. Donovan is doing a nice job. DeRozan is a monster, Vuc is a problem (bad defender but still) and LaVine is primed to make the superstar leap. Caruso looks like Andre Igoudala 2.0 out there, what a brilliant pick-up at 4 years/$37 mill. And Donsumnu looks like a steal at #38.

  77. cybersoze: No, we’re meh. But at least the games are amazing… on some parts amazingly bad, and on others amazingly good.

Our record is meh, but I think we’re bad

  78. I was really convinced we were going to win this one. Maybe the Cyber Prophecies are losing steam. :-/

  79. I don’t think it’s time to swing for the fences. We’re down 6-2, the bases are empty, and no one is out. Just get on base.

  80. Guys, just remember we now have the guns to get some late game buckets in Kemba and Fournier … right ?!?!!

  81. I wonder how all of us are doing in the alternate universe where the Knicks signed DeRozan and Caruso instead of Kemba and Fournier last summer.

  82. We erased Kemba from the rotation after 20 games,
    Randle did shout at Fournier,
a veteran like Taj Gibson totally lost his mind,
Thibs is saying the same things over and over, sometimes it feels like they’ve already tuned him out.
We’re a “meh” team in a revamped East with only 4 teams under .500

    I’m very worried.

  83. I’m still holding my breath on DeRozan until the playoffs because that’s where he struggles throughout his whole career, he’s always been very good in the regular season. But the Bulls are clearly a pretty good team and at least we showed some fight, so there’s something positive to take away from another loss. It just sucks to have to resort to lowering our expectations like that.

  84. Hubert:
I wonder how all of us are doing in the alternate universe where the Knicks signed DeRozan and Caruso instead of Kemba and Fournier last summer.

    #MarvelWhatIf

  85. Mitch Robinson did have 5 blocks.

Evan Fournier did have 4 steals.

Julius Randle did have 7 turnovers…

  86. I watched my daughter’s 8th grade team win 42-6 today and thought it would be the biggest blowout of the evening. Then I saw the Grizzlies score. (I wonder what my daughter’s 8th grade team would have beaten the Thunder by today?)

  87. Contract the league to 24 teams and implement the lottery wheel. Jesus christ the NBA should be ashamed of establishing the conditions to make that game happen. The Grizzlies won every quarter — QUARTER — by 15 points or more. Lu Dort was a -53 in 25 minutes. Exactly one player on the Thunder shot 50%. Every other player was under that.

  88. I mean, when a team makes De’Anthony Melton look like the second coming of Jarrett Allen, there’s something wrong with the code, right? (Right?!!)

  89. @wcknicks
    final –

Like Bogey said to Bergman: “We’ll always have Westchester.”

  91. pepper:
better yet…do like premiership and relegate to g league

I would absolutely love a legitimate second division in basketball but unfortunately that’s something the American public will never accept (and the owners and players and associations etc). The English championship division is one of the coolest leagues in Europe, so much tradition and competitiveness, but it does require a country full of centenary clubs across an entire pyramid system for it to work unfortunately.

  92. Donnie Walsh:
I mean, the Hinkie Sixers never lost by 73 points, right? (Right?!!)

No one has, the worst point differential before this game was a 68 point loss by the Heat against the Cavs in 91.

  93. ***The Grizzlies won every quarter — QUARTER — by 15 points or more. Lu Dort was a -53 in 25 minutes. Exactly one player on the Thunder shot 50%. Every other player was under that.***

I mean, the Grizzlies’ best player didn’t even suit up for the game. Some guy shamed S. Aldama was +52 tonight.

  94. Bruno Almeida: The English championship division is one of the coolest leagues in Europe, so much tradition and competitiveness, but it does require a country full of centenary clubs across an entire pyramid system for it to work unfortunately.

Great call Bruno! I love the 24-team bloodbath known as the Championship :-)

  95. Bruno Almeida: No one has, the worst point differential before this game was a 68 point loss by the Heat against the Cavs in 91.

I feel for the OKC fans. It’s got to be seeming like a never ending rebuild to them at the moment.

  96. I think it’s becoming increasingly likely that that we are not going to be in the top 6 without some luck.

  97. Hubert:
I wonder how all of us are doing in the alternate universe where the Knicks signed DeRozan and Caruso instead of Kemba and Fournier last summer.

It’a a nice wondering, but to be honest, I don’t think those 2 do as much for us as they are doing for CHI. Now that Randle isn’t shooting 3’s any more, he’s kind of occupying the same space DeRozan is occupying, and same with Caruso and RJ. We’d be a better team for sure, but the fit in CHI is seamless.

  98. That doesn’t add up, Z-Man. The Bulls only have 4 guys in their rotation who shoot 3’s (Vucevic, Lavine, Ball, and White). And one of them (White) shoots them terribly (except when he plays us). DeRozan has seamlessly fit in everywhere he’s ever been, and would have been an incredible addition to our team (admittedly in hindsight; I probably would have been mad online the day we signed him like I was when we acquired Rose).

I’m not trying to pick at a scab, but Leon’s offseason is shaping up to be what the so-called pessimists thought it would be: unimaginative & unimpressive. On the other hand, Karnisovas is showing us what it could have been.

  99. Another point about the seamlessness DeRozan:

Look at last night. Randle had a great game but was a mess at the end, like he often is. DeRozan is the total opposite of Randle. He’s calm, poised, and dependable. Rather than “occupy the same space”, I think DeRozan’s presence would provide exactly what Randle sorely lacks.

Alas, this is all imagination. But that’s the life of a Knicks’ fan. We get to imagine Mikal Bridges instead of Kevin Knox, DeMar DeRozan instead of Evan Fournier & Kemba Walker, Steph Curry instead of Jordan Hill, and so on.

  100. This is what .500-ish mediocrity looks like and we’re fast approaching the point, if we’re not already there, where you are what your record says you are.

I’m really getting sick of Randle’s act. The turnovers and the heroball are bad enough, but the frustration and the stupidity and the openly bitching at teammates thing is getting real old. They’re not going anywhere until they take the ball out of his hands. And given his relentless “frustration” it’s now pretty clear that his playoff debacle last year was in some significant degree the product of a mental meltdown. There’s just no way you can build anything around that as the epicenter.

  101. Hubert:

while i agree that rose and co…possibly whiffed on the offseason…i’d pump the brakes on the derozan worship…

If we had zach levine and the tall center guy who can shoot threes…that would open up the game for others…and derozan notably has shrunk in the playoffs…so little early to daydream about him being the elixir to our issues..
