Is there any shot that Phil gets canned and Clarence Gaines takes over? I wouldn’t be exactly averse to that given his draft record, but does anyone have any other info on him that would be relevant to a front office job?

From what I understand he was big in pushing for Galloway, Ndour, KP, and Willy. 3/4 of those have been hits. That’s pretty good.

    Dolan. Insists. On. Big. Names.
Regardless. Of. The. Quest. To. Win.
He’ll eat Clarence Gaines for breakfast if he doesn’t trade a #1 for Gay.

This team sucks even more that I thought it would. Our tanking potential is high but we have a lot of catching up to do. A fire sale would definitely help.

WTF must be going through Phil’s mind right now? How is he going to cope with the fact that he sucks at this job? This team has turned a corner from “bad” to “laughing stock.” 3-12 in their last 15, many of those ugly, eyesore losses to the dregs of the NBA. What the hell does he do now? This thing is in complete freefall.

They have the second half of a back-to-back tonight, then very losable games against Toronto, Atlanta, Boston and Washington. A 3-17 stretch should be enough to convince just about anybody that a rebuild is in order, no?

WTF must be going through Phil’s mind right now?

Probably something along the lines of, “These players have fucked me over!”

Just one more loss tonight and the tankers will have a clear path to go full speed ahead

Phil is a dinosaur. The way the game is being played now and the way smart organizations are using advanced stats to measure ability and adjust strategy simply left him the dust.

Does Masai Ujiri have an understudy that we can hire?

Honestly after a fire sale this Knicks team would be one of the most attractive jobs in the league if Dolan stays out of the way like he’s done with the Rangers. A high pick to pair with KP, cap space, and all of your draft picks moving forward.

and now a back to back, with no time to practice. This team needs time in the gym working the fundamentals of the triangle.

Absolutely. If they had an actual fire sale, I’d be so pumped about the future of this team. I just don’t see it happening. Tonight is so important in that regard. A loss tonight would be so, so huge.
