2025-26 Game Thread: NBA Cup Champion Knicks @ 0-Time NBA Cup Champion Pacers

The Knicks head to Indiana to take on a shitty Pacers team, but the Knicks might have the hangover effect from them WINNING THE NBA CUP!

So maybe they’ll be a bit shaky tonight, but I bet they’ll stick kick the Pacers’ collective ass.

Let’s go, Knicks!

Feeling great about 58 (I might have to soon come up with a rhyme about 58 being too low. Any suggestions?)!

HUK HUK!!!!

They better damn win, it’s my BIRTHDAY!!!

And to answer your inappropriate HR question, I’m now 29, same age as Jowles.

Reposted on new thread:

Towns, Hart, and Mitch are all OUT tonight

I totally approve. If they are banged up this is definitely a time to rest them. But it does seem like that is most of our rebounding.

Pretty sure OG/Mikal/Diawara can hold hands and cover the entire width of the court, so that’ll be fun

Thanks, Knicks Fan.

Very excited to see Mini-Giannis starting, too. I’m Mo Curious.

Hey Geo, Ossobuchini Maiale (Braised pork shanks in a wild mushroom & Chianti wine cream sauce with sun-dried tomatoes tossed in linguini), with a big bottle of Veuve Clicquot. At home on the couch, with Lady Raven.

I truly don’t get how a guy decided to give up his conditioning once he got the bank of a two-year MLE contract.

Tell me again there’s no such thing as a hangover from winning the cup.

Its the “hangover”, not the 3 rotation players and the 4th OG with 2 fouls in 3 minutes out that have nothing to do with it.

This would be one of the best wins in recent memory if they pull this off with this rotation

that sounds magical raven…

got my walking papers from previously bestest friend to geo…it happens…

it was sort of like getting fired from a job you weren’t that crazy about showing up at…still…oh well…

shit, to make matters more, daughter repo’d her dog…

reality comes around…

The pacers are fucking horrible if they lose this game after our third stringers spotted them 16 points lmao

I have to say, the Pacers announcers are good and seem to call a spade a spade even if it’s not favorable to the Pacers.

I want huk to give Halliburton the Reggie choke sign after he banks in the game winning 3 pointer

You would think so but he actually really isn’t, if you take a look at his Basketball Reference page it’s not pretty at all.

I’m not just talking about this season either for his entire career he kinda sucks.

Kolek is +8 when they are down by 10. Brunson is -22.

His stats are ok but I do not like how he has played today (and his defense has been awful).

Kolek has set a new career high with 12 pts tonight, 2 fewer points than last game

Edit: Breen reading my posts

Even without the shooting, Kolek looks very comfortable running the offense. He doesn’t have that rookie look to him anymore.

Letting the only player on the Pacers who can score routinely go one on one against a hapless rookie is certainly a strategy.

I love that Brown is giving all these young guys a chance. There’s a payoff later even if we blow this one game.

Clarkson’s doing well but I can’t wait to see this three guard lineup with Deuce instead of him

I really dislike how much isolation Brunson tried tonight. There’s something about the Pacers that brings the worst in him sometimes.

I can’t believe I’m mad we keep giving the ball to Brunson instead of Kolek

Captain Kolek. 😉

Brunson doing too much and killed what was working. Tough break but one more possession!

OG’s defense on that play was as bad as Brunson’s offense the plays before. What kind of bizarre world is this?

Run a Kolek Jemison pick and roll

I know I’ll regret saying this after he hits the game winning three but it would be really cool if we didn’t draw this play up for Brunson

EDIT: un – fucking – believable

Every Knicks Pacers game is appointment viewing even with half of each team injured

Mr. Nembhart is going to have to be the recipient of a very hard foul in their next meeting…

Lol, and both of them do what they do to win the game.

That was freaking awesome twice in that game we got down 16 and could have easily folded

LGK!!!

Gah!! My internet cut out right before the inbound of the game-winning play… ah well, still satisfied.

Hahahahaha fuck you Pacers. Always good to get one on them, especially undermanned tonight. Kolek is building and building towards something…

Game ball to Hubert for reverse jinxing us to victory

lol I may have been the mvp but marechal was the Tyler Kolek of this championship 😉

This was so satisfying. Brown gave the young guys plenty of minutes to help inch them forward, Kolek gave us more evidence he’s ready to be the full time backup PG and we came away with the win against the Pacers. I’m so happy with Brown so far. He’s far exceeding my expectations.

Kolek looks too good to be a backup PG these last 2 games

Diawara needs a lot of work. His handle is too loose, he needs to improve his footwork on defense, and obviously his shooting needs to be a lot better.

Jemison looked pretty darn good. He’s a nice resource to have given our somewhat short staffed big position.

There’s just no way Thibs would have played the guys Brown played tonight.

Yeah and we don’t win the NBA Cup without Mike Brown, either. Not a lot of crying from the Thibs ghouls lately.

Fair.

Noice W….I hate Indy…where’s Donnie?

you know donnie, he’s goes where the wind blows. he’s just trying to buy a jersey before board of governors renames him trump-kolek

Interesting that Jemison was on the court for the Brunson 3.

I was impressed. Dude sets great screens. I think it’s time for him and Yabu to switch roles.

Do “unconditional waivers” still exist….and if so….that is what we should do with yeahboo….

Put him on a 30 day water only fast?

Every one of our deep bench players (except Tosan) had a chance to show out tonight. The only guy who failed miserably was Yabu. That kinda says that he isn’t ready to help.

1

What I like about the way that Brown handled the IST finals is that he had his starters go out and get the bench paid. In the turn around he had the bench go out and get the starters a win. Building trust.

Watched the game on DVR, this is one of those games I had to run to the game thread after to watch. Didn’t disappoint – I was also yelling at Brunson to let someone else shoot the last shot …. what the hell was I thinking! P.S. Jemison > Yabu

The key to tonight’s win was letting Brunson, OG, and Mikal play 34, 34, ane 37 minutes, respectively. Kudos to the young guys and Clarkson for doing their thing, but we don’t win this game if Brown and the starters don’t commit fully to doing all they could to win this game.

And that’s what I’m seeing in the difference between Brown and Thibs. It’s now a collaborative effort. Clearly those guys wanted this win, and Brown managed it collaboratively, not as a “my way or the highway” guy.

Just discovered that Brunson’s last three elicited a double-bang from Breen. Well worth it.

Wow a b2b on top of everything else,

Might be hard to trade Yabu now without attaching something. Such a bummer.

How about Yabu & Dadiet to San Antonio to take a flyer on Sochan? Yabu’s got built in chemistry with Wemby.

Detroit was bailed out so badly by the refs just now. Infuriating.

Edit: and then the ball goes in and out when Dallas shot to win the game.

Luckiest freaking team in the league.

I was going to suggest trading for Sochan the other day. Spurs apparently need bench shooting which Yabu theoretically gives, and Sochan is actually something you can dream on at PF and would help our defense materially. Not sure how it interacts with the aprons, if at all, but he’s also a guy that’s easier to acquire now and subsequently retain after we go over the apron sometime in the next year since we’ll have his RFA rights.

On the other hand, he hasn’t been very good either. But Yabu has been eye bleach in every game I’ve seen him. He really hasn’t put together one good game yet!

I’m not sure SA would do that trade. An easy one would be Donte for Yabu + Deuce. Or I like the idea of Jalen Smith. But yeah, it will take a real asset to move Yabu immediately. The Washington 2nd, Deuce, something like that. Idk if Dadiet gets it done unless Wemby demands him.

Aaand Detroit loses. A nice 12-30 shooting night for Cade.

Bickerstaff has the impulse control of a toddler.
