How about the Knicks just win the stupid NBA Cup, okay?

Let’s go, Knicks!

Feeling great about 58!

Tonight especially, Owen. The Raptors aren’t that good when they’re healthy, and they’re not healthy.

Huk Huk!!!

Did anyone interview Bane on national TV and ask why he was such a dick?

No Mitch, trouble on the interior – gave up that first board, then one for an easy putback. No bueno.

Brunson iso against Poetl is a good way not to turn the ball over

Edit: after another TO, yes, please let’s just let Brunson score

matador d (if i wasn’t watching on prime)

One of the keys to the game was a Clyde gem – “Don’t procrastinate, devastate” šŸ˜‰

1

KAT and Brunson gets most of the shit for the Knicks bad defense but Hart low key is a big part of the horrible Knicks defensive possessions.

KAT reverting to dumb fouls………..

They’re like tatoos. It you see one you’re gonna see two more.

3

A Knicks loss tonight wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, they’d get 4 days off before playing Miami at home then another 3 days off before playing a back to back.

lol at the crowd cheer on Brunson’s miss – don’t they know Mitch is in the game?

Can we fire Clarkson?

The CBA effectively won’t let us do it without a trade.

No chance for the “this would be the worst loss of the season” comment tonight? šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜› šŸ˜€

That commercial for ā€œOh. What. Fun.ā€ was so long I feel like I watched the whole movie

I’m also okay not giving Desmond Bane another chance to injure one of our players

Hubert, I was just thinking that!

Brunson, at the end of that incredibly long time out, saying to Clarkson: “Do something useful.”

That commercial for ā€œOh. What. Fun.ā€ was so long I feel like I watched the whole movie

Thank God for the League Pass, i don’t have commercials. šŸ™‚

Brunson going for 80.

Yabu is useless on defense unless he’s playing with 40+ year old guys at the Y.

I don’t think Clarkson had an angle to Mitch on that one, but again, passing to a big low under the hoop is almost always a bad idea

1

Considering how bad Toronto is offensively this might be the most embarrassing defensive quarter by the Knicks this season.

1

Horrible defense compounded by giving clarkson too much run

Also Mitch has made pretty much zero good decisions

I don’t understand Brown’s love of Clarkson. I get that he’s an eater of innings, but he’s more of a pre-Hardmode Corruption-themed worm boss.

With Deuce and Shamet out, Kolek is the only alternative to Clarkson – and he should be playing.

Absolutely embarrassing!

Don’t downplay Clarkson’s skills… we could easily play Diawara, Tosan, Dadiet, McCullar, and Jemison over Clarkson too.

Its the normal rotation, Brunson plays entire 1st quarter then sits and Kolek starts the 2nd quarter.

If they’re going to play like shit I at least need Clyde to attempt ā€œMamukelashviliā€

1

I know, BBA, I just like the idea of an Assistant Coach of Media Hot Takes in the second row whispering to Brown about our posts…

1

He’ll probably go with “Sandro”

Hart is a turnstile

Yeah, his defense has been really bad. He’s ok against bigger and slower guys, but can’t stay in front of anyone fast.

Scottie Barnes is one of those NBA players who is very triggering to me as a former middle school teacher, because he makes the exact same face to refs who accurately call fouls on him as students denying they did things I very obviously saw them do. It’s a particular kind of over the top incredulity.

Raven that actually would be great if every game a different member of Knickerblogger sits near the Knicks bench giving Mike Brown coaching advice from the blog!

Just realized that the game is on MSG šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø

I was sure they’d collapse once Kolek went back to the bench, but nope.

Kolek was low-key good, however, kidding aside.

The other 4 Knicks shouldn’t run across halfcourt and tempt Brunson to pass it to them, he doesn’t need them.

I take back some of the things I’ve said about Karl-Anthony Towns

Seriously, he’s played well this quarter after a not so great first

How is it that Mitch has actually gotten worse at the FT line.

A very obscure memory of mine I’m going to try to validate at the half: he had a decently long stretch as a rookie where he was reliable-ish. It was weird.

It’s late here, i leave the 2nd half to you guys. Keep those comments up, because i won’t be checking the score, i’ll read this thread first. šŸ˜‰
See you all tomorrow. šŸ™‚

It doesn’t matter in the regular season, but Brown needs to figure out a different C rotation in the playoffs so that Mitch doesn’t play at the end of quarters.

For all the complaints about Clarkson, he was +15 in 16 minutes and shot 50% from the field.

To be fair, we gave Toronto a few wide open looks that quarter, but they just don’t shoot very well.

I hate it when the Knicks get a big lead then get lazy and stop giving a shit about defending the 3pt line.

1

Definitely not, but, I mean, they built up such a big lead that I’m cool with them having some down moments mixed in there, too.

Forgot to say I agree with Raven et alia that Kolek looked solid in the first half. I don’t remember watching him and thinking, “hey, that guy is good” before.

I said I wasn’t gonna say it but at this point this would definitely be the worst loss of the season…

I think Mitch is better off intentionally missing second free throws and going for the ORB lol

1

Mitch going 2 for 8 actually raises his percentage from the line. Yikes.

A defensively embarrassing twelve minutes to start were followed by a quarter and a half of great basketball, and then the Knicks became complacent to close the third. I don’t know what to expect in the fourth but we still have a nice 15 point cushion. I hope this will be enough. I hope.

2

Why is Hukporti not getting any play tonight? Mitch seems to have little impact on this game

2

Kolek played really well and we bring Clarkson back?

Edit: after a terrible opening minute for Clarkson Kolek is back

Did I mention how much fun I have watching Clarkson?

And right on cue, there’s Kolek!

Obvious foul on Towns, obviously off Toronto, what’s the call there? They can’t call a foul on a review, right?

I think we will lose the challenge because the refs will find we fouled on the play

How can they overturn the non challenged call? I guess it’s the VAR effect

It’s kind of sad seeing Mitch not being able to do Mitch things. He’s a fine backup big, but that’s not what he’s historically been. He would have swallowed that attempted reverse in years past.

It’s kind of sad seeing Mitch not being able to do Mitch things.

I’m sure the FT embarrassment affects his energy and focus. Unfortunately for the Knicks, he is gradually becoming both unplayable and untradeable.

So we win this game, it’s 10 in a row vs TOR.

It’s been a slightly uneven start to the season but big picture I’m super grateful this team is consistently GOOD.

It ain’t that long ago we were on the short end of the stick against the top teams.

1

Clarkson did something good!!!

(Besides making little floaters here and there….)

Toronto seriously challenging a call down 18 with 3 mins left…

Hey don’t disrespect these pretend playoffs like that!!!

I can’t believe we’re gonna play the fucking Magic for a 4th time and it’s not even Christmas.

1

mccullar with a 3 wow we are now on the 58 win pace we keep talking about at the beginning of game threads mccullar with 108 points and 36 rebounds per 36

[W]e are now on the 58 win pace

It’s too early to draw this kind of projections. Our schedule has been very friendly so far. We shall see how we fair against the better NBA teams in the next several weeks. The good news is that we have been slowly and painfully improving, and we have a very formidable starting five.

Yeah, because our expected W-L pace is actually is 60 games baby!!!

All that matters now is health.

I’ve been thinking hard about a potential trade for the Freak and even before he went down I decided that I wouldn’t like any trade for him. I love all the players on this team and want to see them win it all…together. I can’t trade KAT for him – we would be giving up the greatest outside shooting center of all time. And Ginnasis isn’t close there.

I never thought that I would get excited about the friggin Emirate’s Cup, but I am. I feel real good about guys at the end of this bench getting their pay day.

Let’s Go Knicks!

It was two possessions, but I’m intrigued by McCullar. He looked so comfortable on the ball.

That game counts for the standings as well. We need to even the series. There is a good chance we face them again in the postseason.

He plays PG for Westchester, which may say more about Westchester, and played some point in college too

I’m a little worried that Brunson’s minutes seem to be creeping up. He played 39 minutes today and 38 last game.

It’s not ideal, especially when Kolek seems cromulent. Could have played another 3 minutes at least.

But I noticed Brunson on the bench looked utterly unwinded. Like he wasn’t working that hard – or that he’s in such amazing shape it would take more to tire him out. So maybe it’s not a big deal?

i know what youre saying cornell ive said also that i do not want ginnasis at this point in his career

im a little worried that the magic might have some revenge on their mind for the wagner injury if the situation were reversed wed probably feel the same way
