Worst 5-game win streak ever!
BBA, sorry for my reaction to your posts last night, obviously all-inclusive alcohol-induced. I was happy we got the win, and hope we play better in the games against good teams coming up. And I know that you don’t actually hope that we get swept in the first round.
This long stretch against tanking teams is hard to process. There is definitely anxiety building up about the playoffs, especially with Tatum back and maybe even whatever team we will face in the first round putting it together at the right time. But there are still 3 weeks and 11 games left to figure it out, and some good measuring stick games. The news about Deuce’s recover seems positive, hopefully he can get a couple of games under his belt before the playoffs start.
We definitely have a tendency to play down to the competition. But in games against good teams since we got blown out by the Pistons just after the all-star break, we’ve mostly played well. We beat the Rockets, Spurs, and Nuggets, and gave the Thunder all they could handle. We are 21-7 in our last 28 games, and that’s with a lot of key players either in a slump or missing games.
That is indeed the best news lately, but another positive is KAT’s play as of late. I hope he can sustain it until the end. Assuming our “fierce competitors” (Hart and Brunson) get back to their usual level, we’ll look as good as we all hope for in the playoffs. Maybe Mikal is the only question mark? But i hope that can he can step it up for the playoffs too.
Funny bit from yesterday…
