I think I’d rather be the fourth than the second or third seed, because one of those is likely to be the Celtics. We have looked terrible against Detroit this year, but give me Detroit over Boston anytime.

Not sure I agree Rama. I’d like to grab the 2 seed and have home court vs Boston (assuming we both get past the first round of course) I know Tatum is back and all, but that team has flaws, most glaringly on the boards, and I question whether those overperforming scrubs like Garza, Queta and Gonzalez can excel in a playoff environment

I think they should just get as high in the standings as they can. Although, I’ll admit that it is hilarious that a theoretically healthy Philly team and/or a hot Charlotte team might very well be the #7 seed, while the #6 seed is a mid Miami team.

Best case scenario is the #2 seed and Atlanta or Toronto gets the #7 seed.

I’d feel a lot better about playoffs if someone could get to Detroit before us. I know I’m probably overestimating The Pistons, but hell. Let someone else deal with them and hopefully knock em out.

Contrary to preseason expectations, this is the deepest the East has been in years.

Despite our flop of a West Coast trip, the East looks stronger than the West on paper (SRS).

    1. I agree with Brian on the playoff picture.

    2. I think the west would look stronger if Jimmy Butler, VanVleet/Adams and Davis didn’t get hurt (Kyrie would then have also come back).

    3. I was bullish on Orlando coming into this season. I included them in my longshot specials with San Antonio (love that one at 45.28-1), Golden State (eliminated once Butler went down) and Dallas (eliminated once Davis went down repeatedly), but now I’m starting to fear Orlando. They are looking better despite repeated injuries all year. Banchero is stepping his game up to another level, Wagner should be back soon, Bane, Suggs and Carter are good. They probably don’t have enough to get to the finals, but they have enough to pull off a major upset.

not sure how poala banchero has elevated his game recently…normally he’s just a good facilitator who can sometimes score, but has trouble rebounding and defending…

I think of him as being kind of “soft”, also prone to injury…

Can’t imagine Giannis is happy about losing to Pelle Larsson and the Heat last night…

wow, life after 60 truly does involve a whole lot of doctor visits, for all sorts of reasons…

today chaperoning…I am of the current opinion that is a much more preferable role than getting poked and prodded on myself…

crazy weather, gonna be 90 soon…

funny, youngest son’s biggest dream for a while has been to play basketball at school…

he’s in the sixth grade now, so for his school that means the oldest class and big kid on campus…

they have their games out on old school ground courts, looks like they’ve been in use for decades…team’s been doing okay and will play another game at the local high school…no doubt that’ll be a thrill for the kids…

the backdrop for the basketball games has been the san bernardino mountains…super picturesque…

Also, please let our pest Alvie be more annoying and more impactful than their pest T.J. McConnell.

The Violet Grohl album I worked on is coming out on May 29. I co-wrote 9 of 11 songs and played most of the guitars. I’m really excited about this one, this record was a joy to make with Violet and my regular team of collaborators. We’re trying to bring the rock back!

Second single and video “595” is out now:
