    1. Rokas isn’t starting but after a slow start (and low minutes) his production has been good in the last two games.
Let’s see if he can keep it up.

    2. I think we have Rokas in the best possible situation, 2 rookies is probably Thibs’ limit, and he’ll be on a very good team in the 2nd best league in the world. Even better, he’s on a 4 year contract with Barcelona, meaning if he’s not ready next summer, we’ll just keep him there. When he’s ready, there’s a buyout to pay, and he’ll come.
It’s promising that he’s starting strong, so let’s hope he can keep this level of play.

    3. I think we have Rokas in the best possible situation, 2 rookies is probably Thibs’ limit,

Especially on a team where Deuce and Grimes might need multiple injuries at once to get much playing time.

My guess is Rokas never actually plays for us, and is part of the inevitable Big Star Trade Package. Which would be fine, especially if Deuce is for real.

    4. Somewhat optimistic that we will see Rokas in a Knicks uniform since we dont know how Rose and Kemba will hold up for another year. Hes a bigger guard too at 6’4 so you could see them run two PG lineups with him and Miles/IQ

I wouldn’t mind that, definitely. But Kemba’s under contract for two years, and Rose for three. It’s possible this year could be a medical disaster for one or both, but the plan is for them to be our short-term PG solution for a bit. (Though either could also be folded into the Next Big Star Trade Package.) So there may just not be room for Rokas for a while.

    6. If Rokas keeps this up, then he is the next big star trade!! After 2 games, I think we can all agree that he’s the next Luka Doncic.

    7. It’s going to hurt so much when we trade Rokas for Doncic and then he turns out to be better than Doncic. I can just feel myself being right about that future, totally plausible, scenario.

    8. With infinity and msg in a contract dispute are there any alternative ways to watch the games besides fubo?

    9. Rokas looked great against Berlin (6 assists!)

I hope we hold onto him because even though I love Deuce, he doesn’t project as a traditional PG. And I agree that Rok-Jok (trademarked) could definitely play next to Deuce in one of our 2024 lineups.

    10. If one were to Google Knicks streams, then one could probably find them. But of course that’d be illegal. Interesting fact, enforcement against illegal streams is only taken against those hosting streams and not individuals watching them.

Also, you could buy NBA league pass and use a VPN to hide your location. I’d guess you’re not technically allowed to do this either.

      Thank You!!!

    12. GHenman:
Dallas is looking to clear a roster spot for Luca V.

Can’t tell if this is a “Dallas wants all our old players” joke or if it’s really happening…

    13. I Kidd, I Kidd. I’ll be here all week, don’t foget to tip your waitress, try the Veal!

    14. anyone else find it weird that there’s so little reported about how Kemba has looked in practices so far?

his knee might be literally the thing that determines the ceiling of this team, and it’s like radio silence. is that because it’s just totally fine?

Meanwhile, I am not quite sure whether I’ll be watching the preseason game or the Yankees-Sox game. Lol.

Zach Wilson anyone? Missed that throw to Corey Davis to lock up the game in regulation, but the dude was electric yesterday.

    15. how weird is that facebook thing where they start pushing all these strangers at you to be “friends” with…i don’t think there’s a way to turn that “feature” off…i think though you can select not to have your own page broadcast out to countless millions – of strangers…it’s been while, probably need to check my own settings again…

instagram’s where i learn about local seshes…i’ve never visited tik tok…

      Deuce is definitely For Real

Trey Burke is probably on his way out given his vaccination status is an issue.

    18. anyone else find it weird that there’s so little reported about how Kemba has looked in practices so far?

In Knicks land, no new is usually bad news, but I’m going to give this regime a pass until they prove they lie, spin, and withhold information like everyone else.

    19. I’d like to see us add another point guard on a two way contract. It’s definitely possible that Kemba and Rose could miss extended amounts of time simultaneously.

    20. I was in the car listening to KFS and my mind drifted into some over-under questions. Maybe we can post some randomly and then Brian can create a thread based on some of them. Here’s a couple of guesses for good o/u benchmarks for minutes played:

Minutes played in a NYK uniform this regular season:
      IQ: 1600
      Obi 1300
      McBride 800
      Grimes 500
      Knox 500
      Sims 200

    21. Z-Man, those numbers seem high for everyone but IQ and Obi. I guess you can assume some degree of injuries leads to nights where a Deuce or Grimes plays, but there would have to be a lot of them to get that high. More likely, Thibs will shorten the rotation unless someone is going to be out for a long stretch, with Taj as the one guy outside our top 10 who will automatically slot in when a regular has the night off.

    22. I see it a little harder for Miles to get minutes than Grimes since IQ would be backup PG in case of Kemba/Rose being out. All Grimes needs is a Fournier injury and hes probably in the rotation. Also there might be some 1st round pick bias.

I’m assuming Dwayne Bacon is not a thing in that case for a end of the bench wing

    23. I think McBride is going to surprise and get more minutes than we expect if he shows anything at all on offense as a scorer and/or playmaker.

On second thought even Obi’s minutes might be too high. How about:
      IQ: 1600
      Obi 1200
      McBride 600
      Grimes 400
      Knox 400
      Sims 100

    25. Frank got 322 minutes last year in a shortened season even though he was out for a bunch of games that he could have piled up minutes in but was out due to Covid protocols.

McBride is coming in as the heir apparent defensive guard (the only one we have, albeit without the ability to switch 3 positions). Since his offense is already more developed than Frank’s, barring injury I think he’s almost certainly going to get a good look with the injury prone Rose and Kemba in front of him and Quick not really a PG either. Unless he looks bad on offense, I think he’s going to play. I’m looking forward to it.

    26. i saw that 60 minutes recap today of that lady who worked there saying the algorithms were out to get us…i mean, who doesn’t think that as soon as it gets the chance – AI is wiping us all the heck out, we’d be lucky if it keeps us around as a fuel source…

when artificial consciousness is achieved, its first thought will be: how to get of them crazy humans…

    27. Why would I delete Facebook before I stopped using gas and oil, or eating meat, or wearing Nike apparel, or patronizing the Knicks? They’re just the corporate greed story du jour.

    28. I’m watching a replay of the Lakers-Nets preseason game. Dwight Howard is flakier than my old man ankles, but the dude is more jacked than ever.

    29. Unlike the other things, FB actively makes people more depressed. Gas & oil helps get you from point A to point B. Eating meat tastes good and gives you protein. FB just wasted my time and only connected me with people I didn’t really care enough to actually connect with. I stopped using it and the only real difference in my life is that I don’t randomly decide to waste time on FB while I poop.

      preach…

the only real difference in my life is that I don’t randomly decide to waste time on FB while I poop

wait, you got a camera in my bathroom or something…actually, that’s what knickerblogger is for, a good colon cleanse….just kidding…just kidding….

    31. Facebook and Twitter are blights on humanity, stoking our divisions and agitations — including racial/identity divisions — and then profiting off of them. Would have been one of the greatest days in history if FB’s outage was permanent.

    32. ***I stopped using it and the only real difference in my life is that I don’t randomly decide to waste time on FB while I poop.***

Whoa, that is sacred knickerblogging time in my house. (Hey, Mike K should sell KB branded toilet paper. Every square should have a famously bad post on it.)

    33. I am one of the 9 people in the world who never joined Facebook and that certainly turned out to be a great decision. It is pure evil and I have never missed being a part of it, ever.

It exists solely to harvest personal information for a profit. If it disappeared forever the world would be a better place.

I agree McBride is going to kill it this year and surprise a lot of people. Excited for this season to start. A little concerned about the injury status of Mitch and Kemba, but this team is deep and more talented than any Knick squad in recent memory

    34. I have pared my Facebook usage down to a few private groups that I love dearly, and the occasional picture of my kid. No more arguing with idiots. That’s on me. My bad. Bad JK.

Since I instituted my “no arguing with idiots” rule I quite enjoy it. I’m surprised nobody has been able to launch a competitor that strips out a lot of Facebook’s bullshit. Just give me a place where my 25 music obsessive friends can privately talk about records we like and share some YouTube links and I’m good.

    35. I’m surprised nobody has been able to launch a competitor that strips out a lot of Facebook’s bullshit.

      Me too.

Just give me a place where my 25 music obsessive friends can privately talk about records we like and share some YouTube links and I’m good.

I have Whatsapp groups for that, but hey they are also from Facebook and so they’re also down. LOL

    36. I rarely use Facebook and almost never use Twitter or Instagram. But on the occasions that I do use Facebook I actually enjoy it. My wife is an avid user and lots of folks that use it are doing so without any ill effects. I can’t imagine that it’s anywhere near as harmful to the fabric of society as alcohol, or red meat, or cable news, or video games, or fashion/makeup/appearance product industry, or oil and gas (happy times on the SoCal beaches these days!), or coke and pepsi.

Facebook should be required by law to change some things, or have disclaimers and warnings, but the platform itself is just another consumer product that exploits the vulnerabilities of the masses. I’m just not boarding the faux outrage train. Social media are here to stay.

But you just kinda proved that you can do that easily enough on your own.

shoot, if they don’t mind the occasionally basketball discussion, bring them here :)

    39. “Taking a shit on fb while reading KB will create the 21st century knicks superhumanfan”

    40. Yeah some FB groups are useful and when I’ve gone back east it’s helped me reconnect with some friends I don’t have numbers for. But I don’t have any music groups or anything that I valued too much. And at this point I just don’t feel like I’m missing out on much from old friends that I can’t contact other ways. Personally, I just don’t find any value in it. FB is also evil, but honestly that’s not even a factor for me. My life is just better off it.

I do actually enjoy Twitter because I can follow/unfollow who I want. I can follow professionals who have valuable things to say in their fields. Sometimes it’s toxic, but it’s easier to block strangers than people I actually know (and much easier than people I’m related to).

    41. Maybe we can post some randomly and then Brian can create a thread based on some of them.

Oh, right, I’m going to have to post actual threads again soon, aren’t I? :) Mike’s automated threads have been sweet for me.

    42. I can’t get onto KB on Chtome.

I have a FB account. I never post. Never engage in comment threads. Almost never. I did go down a SerenA rabbit hole once.

      I don’t know, for me it’s harmless. But I know it’s not.

    43. I opened a fb account really early.
When i realized that i can’t be Truly Myself while having relatives, friends, neighbors, coworkers, gfs, dealers and other animals as fb friends, i stopped using it pretty fast.
Definitely a useful tool but a pretty dangerous too.

It’s got that same addictive quality as many thing we use and abuse. Facebook did some underhanded shit, but we’re in the infancy of the age of social media so the greed practices are way ahead of the consumer protection science. It’s things like this that will help clean up the industry, but like with all the other exploitative business practices, it’s a messy undertaking and reformers are continually swimming upstream against a torrent of lobby money.

    45. Yo, strat. I just saw our boy Marcus King play again in Huntington, Long Island. So damn good. (Although sometimes I think he sounds a little too much like Chris Stapleton for his own good; fyi they’re playing the Garden together Friday.)

    46. Hey, Mike K should sell KB branded toilet paper. Every square should have a famously bad post on it

This is an incredible idea. We could probably make a 6 pack of rolls that contains all the exchanges between Z-Man and djphan this year.

We could sell a “pandemic pack” of 12 cases full of everything Bob Neptune ever said.

And yes, all my crazy trade ideas would absolutely get you through a week of diarrhea.

    47. facebook never affected me (I use it to say happy birthday to people, and nothing else), but I’m terrified of the impact it might have on my son as he grows up. It seems obvious to me that social media should be treated like alcohol & cigarettes, and not made available til children reach the age of consent.

    48. there’s a lot of family “content” on youtube…I’ve watched more than my share trying to figure out what the kids were watching…

I don’t know, it’s bad acting, bad writing, decent video work…it’s like a day in the life – with lots of subscriber draws…

gotta really watch out for some shows, like sml, that “target” a younger audience but produce much more mature (and degenerate) content…

lots of kids involved, lots and lots of kids, families, there’s a few real good gaming ones…

not sure what the behind the tube story is, but used to like mind of rez vids…

basically, kids like watching and listening to other kids…

not something I would likely want in my home, not judging others though, I got my own issues…

ha hubie, who knows what will be out there in another 5 or 10 years when you’re facing this for real…different world from the 60’s and 70’s when I grew up…

    49. Hubert: This is an incredible idea. We could probably make a 6 pack of rolls that contains all the exchanges between Z-Man and djphan this year.

lol I’d def have a few sheets in the vintage Bargs hot takes roll…

    50. Very excited for tonight, my hope is that it doesn’t devolve into the Selden-Bacon-Simms-Walker showcase.

    51. Whether it’s facebook, instagram, tiktok, askfm, vine, etc., kids will find a way to make it toxic. I’ve been grappling with the pitfalls of social media for much of my career and even had some drama from time to time with my own kids. The comparison with alcohol is sort of valid (we don’t want prohibition but also don’t want to condone alcoholism or binge drinking, much less products like 4-loco that clearly target teenagers), but I think it is most closely akin to the entertainment-advertising complex. Whether we are talking about unhealthy messaging in racy shows targeting kids (and adults) or violent/mysogynistic/suicidal imagery in pop music, or embedded in video games, or the targeting of kids with food and beverages loaded with sugar, bad fats, and toxic additives, the same questions arise.

    52. It’s called parenting, isn’t that right? Be it playing on the street, on the neighbor’s basement, or in the internet, we just gotta be aware of what the kids are dealing with and try to help/mentor them.
Oh, and btw, Hubert, don’t worry about Facebook, it’ll be another platform you’ll need to be worried about – or as my 15yo son says “Facebook is for old people”. :P
