    1. Copying from the prev thread:

I hate it that a super hero is my favorite character but Omar was just so, so brilliant.

Someone recommended Resident Alien. I haven’t seen it yet. What do you guys think?

    2. Responding to last thread but I am a huge huge FAA stan and that match was like watching my two kids face off in Beyblade.

I feel for Alcaraz but it seemed clear to me he wasn’t right.

Will be rooting hard for FAA rest of the way….

    3. Ingmarr, I watched a couple of Resident Alien eps before getting distracted by other things. Seemed a decent example of a certain kind of slightly light-hearted sci-fi/fantasy show that was more prevalent in the late 90s and early 2000s than you see today. If you like Alan Tudyk, it may be your speed.

    4. Medvedev, the most boring and conservative elite player on the tour, seems like a terrible matchup for FAA. Medvedev plays way behind the baseline and tries to extend points as long as possible, and FAA is still kind of error-prone.

I’ll be pulling hard for the kid though. Love his game.

    5. JK,

After you mentioned the FAA match on Sunday, my gf and I were looking for something to do that night and snagged cheap tickets to the night session. What a match! I didn’t want FAA to win, but I’m gunning for him now.

Thanks Alan, I’ll probably give it a shot and see how it goes. If I enjoy it I’ll report back.

    7. No Italy for Frank,
Bologna officially signed another player (Ty-Shon Alexander).

The French Prince is still free…

    8. Cedric Ceballos:
On my 10th day in ICU, COVID-19 is officially kicking my but, I am asking ALL family, friends , prayer warriors healers for your prayers and well wish for my recovery.
If I have done and anything to you in the past , allow me to publicly apologize.
      My fight is not done…..
      Thx

This virus is really a tough one. Let’s hope Ceballos wins this fight.

    9. Too many ICU patients, not enough Prayer Warriors to serve them.

I hope that if Ceballos pulls through, he renounces whatever bullshit superstitions that kept him from getting vaccinated.

    10. not enough Prayer Warriors to serve them

somewhat unrelated but connected – what is the actually effectiveness of “prayer(s)”…

i saw some some pseudo science doc on the nature of “luck”…it was some study done by someone in the UK…

turns out – weird shit does happen (we kind of all know this already); but, “luck” itself was more related to opportunity through awareness and willingness to engage…

    11. to all the people i’ve ever fucked over in life (and to those i may fuck over in the future) – i’m sorry…

nice, i get a clean slate now? is there like a first class section in heaven?

nice, i get a clean slate now? is there like a first class section in heaven?

LOL! Yeah, who doesn’t like a random “i’m sorry” directed to a bunch of undefined people. Clearly when a person does this, is truly sorry and has learned a lesson. :P

    13. JK47: Y’all think bobneptune got the vax? Or do you think he’s more of an Ivermectin kind of cat?

You mean if he was caught in this mass control scheme that people call “covid vaccination program”? LOL

    14. Y’all think bobneptune got the vax? Or do you think he’s more of an Ivermectin kind of cat?

I’m going to guess he’s a kitchen sink kind of guy like joe Rogan. Unless it’s proven dangerous, he’ll take anything that will help or even might help.

      Except the vaccine.

    16. and has learned a lesson

hmmmm, so does that mean you believe there is some kind of personal scorecard folks move through life with, and that at some point it will be evaluated by something/someone?

otherwise, not hard to see the rationality behind: do unto others, and than split…

    17. If I was Cedric I’d be telling them I’d give them whatever amount of money they wanted to put me in a hyperbaric chamber for an hour a day. There’s been limited studies, but it seems to help a lot to get some time in one if you can.

    18. The dog days of the NBA offseason are upon us.

Here’s an article from realgm.com’s John Wilmes which reflects on a possibly epic Nets-Lakers finals, suggesting that if both teams remain healthy and get there, it would be the first (and possibly last) time we get to see LeBron vs. Durant for all the marbles with roughly equally matched supporting casts, likening it to the 2015 all-star rosters playing 8 years later for all the marbles.

      I love their stuff…great authors.

    19. JK47:
Djokovic is probably the GOAT. He’s just fucking relentless, like the Anton Chigurh of tennis.

My problem with tennis is that it has seemed to be a progression of one GOAT after another, with long stretches of dynastic predictability.

    20. I don’t like Djokovic either. Never have. But he is brilliant. The stuff he can do on the court is just impossible. He has made grinding into a transcendent art, like Rafa, but without the injuries and with far less apparent effort.

He will go down as the greatest of all time when he is finished. I think Federer was much more fun – just pure aggression and offense – but you can’t argue with Djoker’s record.
