    1. Anyone see Paul George’s tweets about Ray Rice (now deleted and apologized for by him — or maybe by his PR guy)? Great guy…

    2. I hate this culture where ppl are judged on their reactions. PG was wrong……but before twitter how many famous ppl had dumb thoughts that we never knew about? Who cares

    3. I guess that is where the phrase “keep quiet and let people think you are stupid, open your mouth and remove any doubt” comes in.

    4. “Paul George’s tweets from earlier were thoughtless and without regard to the subject of domestic violence and its seriousness in society,” Bird said in a statement. “We have talked to Paul to strongly express our displeasure and made it clear that the NBA and the Pacers’ organization will not condone or tolerate remarks of this nature.”

The Indiana Pacers: where remarks on domestic violence are not tolerated, but acts of domestic violence are overlooked.

    5. Anyone watching the FIBA world cup? Stunner yesterday: France knocked off Spain. That Gobert kid Lowe wrote about was impressive.

Also, if this tournament is any indication of what to expect from Pau Gasol, the Bulls are going to be extremely good this year.

    6. Yeah, I saw that. Amazing.

If the U.S. doesn’t win this thing now, well, that would be very surprising.

If an athlete/celebrity purposely broadcasts his thoughts to the world because he wants the world to know what he thinks, I think that it is perfectly appropriate for other people to say, “This guy is a jerk for two reasons — first, he has a dumb opinion and second, he wants to broadcast his dumb opinion to the world.” If he doesn’t want the world to judge his thoughts, he should keep them to himself. Kind of like when I post my dumb opinions about basketball on this site, the DReds and TCHJs of the world blast me and talk about how little I know about basketball. I can’t be offended by their reactions because I invited them by putting my opinions out there. By the way, Larry Bird also seemed to judge PG’s reaction pretty quickly.

    8. It’s something he intentionally communicated to his 900K Twitter followers. He has his freedom of speech to say whatever stupid shit he wants to say, and everybody else has the freedom of speech to say whatever they want about the stupid shit Paul George says.

    9. Yeah that France win was huge. To be honest, now that the USA’s biggest competition and only other legit team that could have won the WC is out, I’ve lost a fair amount of interest. Seeing as they won by about 30 odd against Lithuania, it’s probably going to be a cake walk. Maybe France can give a s hake after what they did to Spain, but I doubt it.

    10. Wow, talk about a break out year. How bad has paul George year been? You have the stripper/abortion scandal, the catfish thing, poor play, injury, now this.

    11. lol ya think he lost his status in the long line of NbA golden boys…..Derrick Rose….Kevin Durant… Paul Geo…….

    12. I’m bummed that spain lost. I watched us beat up on a couple cans, but aside from fantasizing about the Brow, there’s no real reason to watch. It’s not particularly interesting to watch the US pummel a bunch of stiffs.

    13. The best/worst thing about the George thing is that he didn’t just say one dumb thing and then leave it at that – he argued the point for a little bit. It’s like how the Cee Lo thing was so much more offensive because he continued to argue about how you need to be awake for it to be rape.

I agree. I was really looking forward to watching USA v Spain in the final on Sunday (instead of the NFL). I actually thing Spain might have been favored. Would have been the biggest challenge USA basketball has faced in a long time.

Assuming France beats Serbia, it should still be an interesting final, but one in which I suspect France is always kept at arm’s length.

I have no idea what you’re talking about and I’m afraid to google it.

Cee Lo Green was arrested for slipping a woman some drug and then having sex with her. They couldn’t really charge him with rape because the woman couldn’t prove that the sex wasn’t consensual (he ended up settling for three years probation just for the drug charge). So after the case settled (I believe before the case was officially settled, but the deal had been worked out), he took to Twitter to explain how, in effect, rape cannot occur if the woman is not conscious, since there is no meeting of the minds and if there is no meeting of the minds, then consent could not be withheld. It was just insanely offensive and the dude actually argued with people as they began tweeting him back until, like George, someone of course told him how bad this all looked and he deleted his account.

    17. U just ruined my dungeon family collection but thanks for that info. Wow that’s crazy. How do you actually try to argue that. That’s disgusting.

    18. I kinda figured that’s what you meant but I didn’t want to know a person could actually be that depraved.
