Hornacek to ink 3-year deal with Knicks

From the Wojmeister:

At last, the long wait is over. A lot of Knicks fans were feeling the classical conditioning of years of franchise-level trauma. Until Hornacek was at the small table putting his name on paper, it was still “Kurt Rambis remains the front runner” in the breeze.

More details are sure to emerge soon, and we’ll all now breathlessly await the press conference where the subjects of guards, pace, free agency, Triangles, Morris Twins, and other tidbits will dance like sugarplums in our Knickerbocker heads.

  1. Another Knicks related story broken by a non-Knicks beat writer. I can’t wait for Isola to tell us why we should hate this deal.

  2. Isola Headline: 3-Year Clock Ticking on Hornacek’s Humiliating Tenure

    That was hysterical. lmao

  3. PUT DOWN YOUR DAMN PHONES AND LISTEN ONE DAMN MINUTE MILLENIALLS. YOU MAY REMEMBER JEFF AS AN OLD MAYO BOY ON THE UTAH JAZZ BUT WHEN YOU GET TRADED FOR MR CHARLES BARKLEY AND THE PHILADELPHIA SEVENTY SIXERS FANS GET ON YOU AND YOU JUST KEEP DOING YOUR THING ON THE COURT-LET ME TELL YOU THAT IS A MAN WHO CAN RIDE ROUGH WITH THE ROUGHEST ROUGH RIDERS OUT THERE RIDING

  5. still though I ask is he a rough ryder

    HOT TAKE:

KARL ANTHONY TOWNS WILL SPEND TOO MUCH TIME STREAMING ON TWITCH.TV TO LEARN TO RYDE ROUGH DURING HIS SOPHOMORE SEASON

BET THE UNDER ON THIS PRECOCIOUS NEOPHYTE, PEOPLE

  6. I argue that Hornacek is, in fact, a Ruff Ryder in the truest sense of the word.

    It’s very simple.

    First he gonna rock.

    Then he gonna roll.

Then he let it pop; let it go.

HORN GON GIVE IT 2 YA

HE GON GIVE IT 2 YA

Woj is Woj, though. Dude is like a bull in a china shop, he breaks everything.

  8. Seems very purposeful- like Phil is really trying to neuter the beat writers. There was no reason not to sign hornacek until now, and even if there was, all he had to do was tell someone hornacek was on vacation and they’d get to it. Instead, he let the writers twist in the wind with no info whatsoever. He gave the original scoop to Beck and now this one to Woj.

Jousting with the media is like sport for Phil. Interesting to watch now that it’s clear it’s a game.

  9. Any comments on The Ringer yet? I’m not sure how I feel about all the green.

Phil sees most of the writers as the self serving shit stirrers that they are, writing anything regardless of its relationship to the truth to increase page hits. Good for him.

  11. Rambis is loyal to the Knicks and to Phil the Great. That’s good enough for me so lay off already!

  12. The Joe Buck article was terrible.

Like, weirdly terrible. Who in the world is so hard up for a story that they’ll write a puff piece about Joe Buck? At least Charley Rosen picks a legitimate NBA Hall of Famer to write puff pieces about.

  13. Yeah, he really did. It was this big, “No, seriously, he’s cool!” article but it never offered anything up to actually show that he was cool besides the article (and Buck’s wife) repeatedly telling us that he’s cool. The closest was a quote of a reddit thread that tried to suggest that Buck was “breaking the fourth wall” with his announcing, which makes no sense (maybe it’s saying that he’s ironically bland?).

  14. RE The Ringer. I read several articles, inc. the Buck one, Durant one and the one on capitalizing internet, etc. and came off feeling that writers are trying too hard to be clever at the expense of writing anything meaningful. Also, wow, lots of Game of Thrones. Just one day, though.
