An embarrassment of riches in term of talent and picks comes in handy when you have injuries.

You still need matching salary. They can't add anyone without subtracting.

They do have a lot of exceptions, but my understanding is that using any of them hard caps them at the second apron, which means they can't really use them. I have read that's not the case, i.e. they can use their full exceptions and go over the SA, but I don't trust the source.

Looking at all the injuries around the league this morning I thought to myself we may be winless but we're healthy, and that reminded me of a line from an old Alanis Morissette song about the paradox of a conflicting duality, which is exactly what we're all experiencing right now, so I rewrote the opening bar. Sorry, I'm no JK47 but here goes...

we're winless but still happy
our backup center sucks but there's time
we're 0-3 but we're healthy, yeah!

Bridges sucks but it's cool
KAT's balling but he just fouled
Brunson's lost but he's Brunson, baby!

And what it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be fine, fine, fine
Cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one's giving a Knicks in 5

Oklahoma City Thunder's NBA championship odds sit around +300 to +360 (or roughly an 18% to 22% implied probability) following the severe leg injury to star guard Jalen Williams and injury to Cason Wallace

They'll probably look to add someone at the deadline if they need to. An embarrassment of riches in term of talent and picks comes in handy when you have injuries.
