If I remember correctly it was TNFH who came up with the great VORP analysis, Hubert just suggested a modification. Otherwise today’s Z vs. H fight was so silly it made me chuckle a couple of times.

There’s that old saying about how no matter how rich or poor or good or bad your life is, you will always be as happy or sad as you were before. So if you’re a depressed person who wins the lottery, after you adjust to your new life of wealth, you’ll go back to being just as depressed as before. Alternatively, if you’re a positive and happy person and you become paralyzed, acte you adjust to your new status as a paralyzed person, you’ll still be a happy person.

I’ve been thinking about this often recently with this blog and Zman and Hubs in regards to the Knicks winning a title.

Speaking of some of the other posts in today’s discussion, I think the country ought to start appreciating politeness more. Too many people of every political persuasion seem to think that because it’s not illegal to be rude, therefore they should exercise their legal right and be rude. It has never been illegal to be rude and shouldn’t be either, but politeness is still a virtue that improves communication and makes life more pleasant for everyone..
