It would have been nice if the Knicks had offered a little more.

I think this was the most money they could have offered. Maybe if they had made more of it guaranteed, or longer, or something, but Aller is really limited in the dollars he can give anybody right now.

It would have been nice if the Knicks had offered a little more. Then we would have him or Dallas would have a bigger new salary commitment. It may be they didn’t have salary cap room but they still could have guaranteed more of the contract.

Dallas seems to have a bevy of bigs ATM so maybe the Knicks calculation here is that one of those may eventually come available if the Mavs do opt to keep Cisse.

Methinks this is a much bigger sticking point for the Mavs than the miniscule dollar amount.

Per P & T, Dallas already has 16 players signed. If they match the offer sheet, that would bring the total to 17 and they’d also be locked into keeping Cisse around for this season. The Mavs would have to like him better than at least one of the already signed players that would have to be released if they choose to match. Dallas seems to have a bevy of bigs ATM so maybe the Knicks calculation here is that one of those may eventually come available if the Mavs do opt to keep Cisse.
