I have friends and family that sell their complicated high margin businesses and buy a bunch of low margin but safe type business like gas stations with dunkins on them & apartment buildings to leave to their mediocre and entitled kids.

He doesn’t feel or even understand the burden of doing the right thing because he was never on the other side of it. He never over-performed or over-achieved for his boss and waited on them to reward him. He never has to worry about a customer switching brand allegiance.

It’s not all billionaires or capitalist issue…the self made ones are a completely different breed; they are actually the most noble leaders; it’s the ones who didn’t earn their power positions to understand their societal responsibility of capital allocation.

i prefer the NBA system to MLB where Pittsburgh, Cincinatti. Tampa Bay and the like don’t have the income stream to be competitive (generally).

And I prefer the association football system, where if you sell off all your players for assets you get relegated and everyone who did it loses their job.

I believe it already has been bargained. I honestly don’t get your beef other than Dolan chose NOT to make the assests available to re sign Mitch. He certainly could have, but chose not to.

No one was “penalized”. The rules (system) was mutally collectively bargained between management and labor to their mutual benefit. The rules are well known to all parties. Every new CBA some of the rules are changed mutually. Everyone is aware of the process.

This whole apron system is a overreaction to the Golden State Warriors. The system was created to make it easier for small markets to compete. It’s gone too far in their favor now.

Why do you think only small market teams can stockpile assets? Didn’t Boston stockpile assets when they traded KG and Pierce to Brooklyn for a ton of picks?

Anyone can do it. But only small market teams dodge the financial consequences of it.
