If Mike Brown continues his regular season philosophy then Kolek, Mo, Deuce and Huk will get a ton of playing time. Keeping the starting core fresh is not a luxury- it’s a necessity. Mitch cannot be replaced by a draft piece. Mitch gets that must-have rebound, extends out defensively to disrupt a Wemby and is still a lob threat. Tarris Reed, Jr. is the contingency plan if the Knicks lose their nerve and overthink Mitch’s mental health issues and overall fragility.

They had Edwards, KAT, Gobert, McDaniels, NAW, and Reid. If they had spent two years in the apron with that team instead of breaking it up to get under it, they probably would have won a chip in one of those years, and we probably wouldn’t have.

The wolves had Gobert Randle and Edwards though. Expensive trio.

I don’t know how I feel about Diawara. He ran hot then cooled. He’s long and reasonably athletic but I don’t know if you can project a superstar defender.

The price is right though and I am cautiously optimistic he can end up a valuable rotation piece in time.

Overall, I feel ok unburdening myself of anxiety. This front office has earned my trust. And hey, we won. Still feels crazy to say.

Also supremely doubtful that Gianni’s meets the 65-game criteria for any kind of award. I envision him playing between 55-60 games. This is not the Gianni’s of 3 or 4 years ago.

Minnesota is the poster child for how staying under the apron is the real suicide. They traded KAT, let NAW walk for nothing, and now salary dumped Randle, too. And all they have to show for all that is the “flexibility” to extend Ayo Dosunmu.
