Definitely on the right track; I’d slightly refine it to “He simply doesn’t like it when the fans enjoy the Knicks winning.” (*) Mine might just be an additional manifestation of the core one you properly named.

Lots of people in his position would be acting on the egotistical, “Hey, I’m the owner here, notice me!” That’s standard fare. But that isn’t this and with Dolan never has been.

(*) Which at some level reduces to the more simple, “He doesn’t like enjoyment,” and, “He doesn’t like people.”
