Swifty, it’s a legitimate concern, but it’s fairly low on my worry list partly because we have the world’s best clutch player who can score baskets despite what everyone does to stop him.

Brunson is great and all but let's not get carried away. Nesmith and Haliburton both did more clutch stuff last year than he's ever done.

Yeah, having captain clutch is good. And the team learned a lot last year with that deep playoff run. Plus the core guys now all have multiple years of playoff successes and losses collectively to lean on that experience. I just hope they don't lose the Thibs grind mentality. I think that mental fortitude has served them well.

And we also have Josh Hart who will happily kill himself to win a game. And we will have OG snatching the ball and heart out of teams. And now that Mikal is flying around the court like he's actually enjoying himself, barring injuries that's a pretty good recipe for when things get ugly.

Yeah the offense looks nice but I'm not going to get too excited really until the playoffs. One thing I am concerned about. We've often said that Thibs only threw rock but one thing that I've LOVED about the Thibs teams the last few years is how tough they have looked in the playoffs. We've had some absolutely thrilling victories that came in the last minute because the team never gave up. And Thibs stresses the fundamentals that can keep a team in a game even when the shots aren't falling. It looks ugly at times but then you win games one and two in Boston coming back in the last 5 minutes or you win game 2 against philly in the first round with a remarkable sequence of games or you close out philly on the road playing tough ball.

Will this team have the same fortitude? Cause one thing I feel about the new modern NBA offenses is that it looks so pretty and nice when the three's are falling but can the team play ugly and win. Just ask Boston how the offense looks when the three's aren't falling and the shots aren't so easy.

In other words, I am concerned that Mike Brown's team might put up better numbers in the regular season but be an easier out in the playoffs. OF course, this is just a concern of mine that I have no way of easing until the playoffs, but it's something I'm going to think about all season.

Hmm, I was going to respond to the last bit from Strat with "You mean like tonight?" But in fact if the site I'm looking at is correct, Minny is currently ranked 20th in team defense (we're 14). Last year the Wolves were 5th, so maybe this is an early season blip?
