I can’t begin to tell you guys how thankful I am for cyber’s graciousness. His mom is a wonderful force of Portuguese nature who treated us as if we were family, and Lady Cyber is as delightful as cyber (well, sorry cyber, even more!). Cyber drove in and picked us up, and then we went into Porto’s coastal ‘burbs where he treated us to lunch in a small fishing village at a super-authentic restaurant right on the beach, with colorful fishing boats all lined up on the sand and fisherman’s houses behind them. Then cyber and mom took us on a scenic return drive along the coast as we swapped stories of family, homeland, and occasionally our beloved team. Truly an experience Lady Z-man and I will always treasure.

Unless Andrew Thomas fixes that line by himself, the Giants are going to lose a lot of games this year.

I would still keep Schoen and Daboll if Dart looks like the future.

Daniel Jones looking good is a much bigger indictment of Mara, IMO. Mara fed him 3 coaches in his first 4 years while he played behind the worst line in football. Now we gonna do the same thing with Dart?

The Giants started four below replacement level players on the O line today. Elumunor is the only one who might still be on the roster when (and if) they turn it around. The guards are below avenge and JMS might be the worst center in the league. I believe he graded out 31/32 last season. They can’t figure how to pass of a simple twist after playing together for 18 months FFS. This regime’s drafting of Neal and JMS has been apocryphal. Anyone who ever played a down of football at any level knows if you can’t block it up, you can’t do an effin thing.

It’s not that the players we gave up were good, it’s that we gave up all our players with any upside which capped the team pretty solidly in an era where contracts were long and replenishing picks was expensive. It turned out the Knicks could still add Tyson Chandler, so the mezzanine talk at the time was a bit overstated; however, the opportunity cost of Melo was real, cause Chris Paul became available shortly thereafter, and went for a package demonstrably worse at the time. And, of course, Paul was the guard we needed, not the forward we already had.
