So I think with our last vet minimum spot we should target a PG.

Maybe Kolek will be fine but the shaky summer league leaves me nervous and Hum seems more than ready to play some back up Center minutes. With Mitch, KAT and Huk plus some small ball Yabu and maybe even Nanji, I think we are ok with the center position. But if Kolek is not quite ready, we really do not have another traditional PG on the roster.

I know it looks like he’s going to the clippers and I know he wants to start but we really should make one more push and pitch for Chris Paul. I mean he wants a ring right? We’re his best shot by far to do that.

And he would be an amazing veteran presence for the locker room and a great role model/tutor for Kolek.

It just makes sense and is much more appealing to me than Simmons, who, even if you think the character/mental issues are past him is just such a non scoring factor he seems unplayable in the playoffs.

So Leon go get CP3! Make it happen!!!

Mitch looks like he's able to lean back further in his shoulders/upper back area. He usually looks really stiff there, which makes it difficult to get arc on the ball. So that's a good sign even if it's still ugly.

It doesn't need to be perfect, just get above 50%. Or at least to 50%. he's shot under 40% from the line every time he's been in the playoffs.

That is a great video. I liked Jackson’s quote about Wilt in the tape. One playoff game the other centers fouled out and he had to defend Wilt. He said when Wilt went up for a shot he took you up with because he was so strong.

I dunno Doogie, I think his minutes will depend on his performance.

I'm assuming that the starters will average 32-34mpg and the top 2 on the bench will average 20-25 mpg. That's 200-220 minutes. That leaves 20-40 mpg for the 8th and 9th guys. For now I'm assuming that Yabu and Clarkson are those last two guys.

But these are just averages. Whether load management, injury, keeping bench players fresh, garbage time, strategic situational moves, matchups, foul trouble, plain ol' off nights, bench guys feelin' it, rotating the kids in, etc., there are going to be a bunch of games (I would guess minimum 15-20) that Clarkson plays 25+ minutes. There will also be games where Clarkson goes full metal Flame and Brown just lets him do his thing while Brunson or one of the other rotation players rests.

We'll probably have to wait a while before we know how (and how much on average) Brown plans to deploy Clarkson, and I think Clarkson knows that there are no guarantees beyond a legitimate shot at earning a significant role in the rotation. At some point, Brown might cut bait, but unlike Thibs, I think he will have a longer leash and take some responsibility for doing everything possible to make it work.

I think if he figures out (!) how to be a semi-efficient microwave type who passes out of traffic to cutters, rim runners, and corner three hanger-outers, Brown will find 15-20 minutes a game for the guy and he'll do well in terms of showing off for his next contract.
