Hubert, I’m sorry this comment is late, but it’s morning here and I couldn’t get to Knickerblogger until now. I understand your bosses want a lot of singles and doubles in your investment picking and not just the occasional home run. It does make you focus on doing everything well. But Rama is correct that it’s the big wins (like Nvidia) or lack of them that drive investment returns. When the stock market is rising overall, it doesn’t mean most stocks are going up. Actually most are just treading water. It’s the rare high flyers that account for most of the index movement.

Didn’t the Nets draft a full roster in the first round this year? Shouldn’t they be winning this?

Absolutely!!
If I were a Nets fan it would be so concerning that they drafted five first rounders and are 0 and 3 in summer league so far. What is more, it seems like none of the performances of their picks are worth talking much.

A great loaf of fresh out of the oven rye bread with caraway seeds cut in one of those industrial bread slicers (not that Levy’s shit) is way better to me than any club role.

When it came to sandwiches, growing up in the Allerton Ave. section of the Bronx in the 1960′-’70s a multi-ethnic blue collar neighborhood with lots of post-WW II immigrants owning all kinds of bakeries, ethnic delis and restaurants, candy stores/luncheonettes, salumerias, bagel factories, butchers, etc., pizzerias, all within a few blocks, was a joy. All kinds of good sandwiches.
