That court vision of Kolek seems pretty special or at least uncommon. Sometimes players like that make others better for two reasons. First, the game organization rubs off and dudes get the idea of where they should be after awhile. Second, the same dudes get rewarded by getting the ball in the right place. The team gets better by getting better shot opportunities. For me, this type of point guard plays chess and its really fun to watch. Add some offensive rebounding into the mix and you get more quality shot opportunities. Defense? I’ll take the 5th.

Huk looks like he can play a bit. His ceiling seems to be significantly higher than Sims, and I don’t see any reason (other than health, of course!) that he can’t handle a limited backup role right now. Definitely too early to pencil him into next year’s rotation, but at pick #58, that’s all you can ask for.

While I enjoy making fun of Swift, I do think that Huk is a very raw but very likely useful NBA player going forward. Which wasn’t my first take, to be honest.

Don’t know if the numbers back it up but it feels like Shamet has been playing much better this past month. He also competes much harder defensively than I expected although physically he’s just not tall or athletic enough to defend the bigger wings.

He certainly hasn’t been shooting much better, his TS% was 63.4 in Feb and is 51.9 in March so far. His EPM dropped from -1.6 at the end of Feb to -2.2 now.

I’m not sold on Huk.

I am. To me, he looks like a young Patrick Ewing but with a more well rounded offensive game like Hakeem.
