I don’t think it’s a wild take at all. It’s certainly not a common sense take. In this instance, it sounds like medical thinks that structural integrity is not at major risk and that Josh’s personal pain meter and tolerance are part of it. He might be signalling that he needs a break… longer than what he had and Thibs and company are saying okay. Should he have played less throughout the season so far possibly, probably…

Gotta go watch raging bull with the hubby, yay…boo

Would love to see a study of Knicks under Thibs and their injuries over that time compared to other teams. I think we have our fair share of injuries, but it sure seems like every team does. Some teams get lucky for stretches, some get unlucky. But not convinced we're significantly worse off.

I will, however, continue to bellyache about five minutes left in a blowout and leaving the starters in. That's just stupid on multiple levels (increased risk of injury just because they're on the court, increasingly tired players as the season drags on, and of course no chance for the kids to get critically important in-game experience).

I hear you, Donnie, and I have retired from the minutes police. I’m not saying wear = tear. But I don’t think we appear to be sensible when it comes to managing wear & tear when it exists. Maybe this Josh news is just that, but it’s more likely he’s been affected for some time and has played through it when it wasn’t wise to do so (and not just played through, but played excessively through it). It’s more if one of your runners had a bad ankle and wasn’t supposed to run, but ran away bc he was stubborn. Maybe for a while he’d be fine but the bill always comes eventually.

The reality is, players are just as likely to tweak a groin slipping on the bathroom tile after a shower, or to throw their back out sneezing.

Really? How often to do players injure themselves while not playing vs while playing?

Thibs' "It's up to Medical" basically = Belichick's "We're on to Cincinnati." Both pretty much meaningless.

Yeah, I figured they might just be saving Hart for the bigger upcoming games by not playing him against a team that we should be able to beat without him tonight. Although we *have* lost both previous games to Chicago this season, and the first loss was largely because Hart absentmindedly fouled Coby White's hair right near the end of it.
