Hilariously, in the Grizzlies/Rockets game, the Grizzlies got the rebound with 13 seconds left after the Rockets missed a shot. The Grizzlies were down one, and Tayler Jenkins motioned his players to just go, as he didn’t want a time out, and Jaylen Wells had a wide open lane to go in for the go-ahead basket. However, the referee saw Jenkins, and assumed that his “Go! Go!” motion was him calling a timeout, and so gave Memphis a timeout before Wells could score. I’ve rarely seen a ref let a coach yell at him that much, as he knew he fucked up, and so he let Jenkins scream at him.

The Grizzlies ended up scoring the go-ahead basket anyways on two free throws on a miss by JJJ.

Wild ending.

So the Grizzlies just beat the Rockets by one without Ja Morant, so I think that means that the Knicks are the best team in the NBA.

Z-man, I think you are wrong on this one. I really don’t like Shamet. He is a slightly above average 3-point shooter who brings nothing else to the table. McCullar was a standout defender at Kansas and can handle the ball and get to the basket. He’s kind of a poor man’s Hart or Grimes with less shooting ability. If he can learn how to shoot…

Sorry, don’t see it at all. I’d be pretty surprised if McCullar is a rotation player for a good team within the next two years, if ever. As a guy who will turn 24 in a month, he’s probably just too old and to raw on offense to bank on any real development. He’s a million miles from Shamet, who is a proven NBA rotation player. But hopefully I’m wrong!

Houston is very tough. When they signed FVV and Brooks I was dubious, but with their intensity and Ime asserting his identity, it’s worked well. Will be a hard out on Monday.

I’ve been hearing Fox wants to go to San Antonio, but I think he would be perfect on Houston, with Van Vleet and picks going the other way.

Nice to see that McCullar is actually capable of playing in any kind of game. Hopefully he will develop into something, Nice physical profile, other than the joints between his thighs and calves.

I saw Moses Brown play close up in White Plains. My very firm impression was that he has a hard ceiling as G-League star. Just too slow, both physically and mentally, to ever be more than a garbage time player in the NBA.
