Yes, I recognized it from Airplane, but it was still out of the blue because we hadn’t been talking about Airplane. Thus, I just answered it straight. You asked me something else out of the blue the day prior or the day just after, but I don’t remember what it was. I answered that one straight, too, even though I knew ahead of time that you wouldn’t care what my answer was. Do you happen to remember what it was? 🙂

There’s not a very strong liberty interest in ensuring one’s right to post on a sparsely populated New York Knicks message board. If someone repeatedly demonstrates they can’t be bothered to cease behavior that literally everyone else hates, and their rare other posts are very mediocre anyway, I would say that justifies a ban.

I can say personally I have found it increasingly exhausting to visit the site. The high-quality Knicks discussion I’ve been enjoying since I was 14 is so often bogged down with pedantry that often isn’t even correct and other assorted garbage.

Maybe give Drooskie one last chance, I’m not saying the ban hammer should be wielded lightly. But if someone brings literally nothing to the board and derails threads regularly, that seems like plenty to me.

I agree to a point. With the posters in question, we’re way past that point.

If you are a politeness freak who thinks that it is rude to engage with assholes by telling it like it is, we will just have to agree to disagree on how to address such folks.

See, I think it is rude to deserve to be called an asshole. I also think it is rude to not speak out when someone acts like an asshole.

You’re basically saying you’re being rude because someone else was. It’s still being rude and it’s unpleasant to reas. If you feel you have to reply, you could easily do it politely.

Having watched a couple clips, I don’t think I’ll be seeing Emilia. It was produced by a good friend’s close friend, though, so I should probably shut up about it. Also, I do admire ambition! It sounds like it’s definitely ambitious.
