And I thought a bit about our team's purported lack of upside.

KAT and Hart are playing to their platonic best, so not much extra meat on those bones, but then again they don't have to provide any if they can keep this up.

It doesn't feel like Jalen's at his best, except for stretches. Whether he's banged up, or still trying to figure out the best way to work with the other starters, or both, or something else, he's really been up and down. Still an all-star, which on its own is impressive, but there's more from where that comes. Or so I think.

Bridges has been all over the map. Good games, bad games, mediocre games, disappearing for halves. If he can get to consistently good games, that could be huge.

I almost hesitate to mention OG, as it opens things up for those what don't much like his being on the team. But again, up and down. He had that 41 point game and then fell into that proverbial well. If there's a consistently good OG in there somewhere, that'd be big as well.

The bench, such as it is, also has potential upside. Cam's maybe at his peak right now. Deuce isn't quite there, if last year is to be believed. Shamet has been very inconsistent, but if you combine his moments of hard D with moments when he is hitting his threes, that's a very cromulent bench piece. I sort of feel Precious is what he is.

And Mitch coming back and not weighing 300 lbs or breaking in two immediately.

So I definitely see the very real potential for improvement. Whether it all actually happens is another question.

I remember there was a poster who hated Vertersberger and screamed nepotism or something every time he posted an article. (He was a very young writer and his work was not up to the old KB standard, so the criticism was justified but the harshness was not). I do not remember who the poster was but it might have been Jon.
