I have another Winona Ryder anecdote that is too bonkers to recount in detail but an obscure musician I know dated her for a while and was convinced that he and Winona were deeply in love, and were “engaged,” until she ghosted him. Later when he did finally manage to contact her, she pretended like she never knew him in the first place.

My old roommate worked at a high end consignment boutique in West Hollywood. They sold high-end vintage pieces. Winona Ryder came in there one day (this is after her shoplifting scandal) and tried on practically every outfit in the store, bought a few thousand dollars of clothes, and then also shoplifted a few thousand dollars of clothes.

The store owner called her management and said “uh do you guys want to pay us for the stuff she stole” and they were very apologetic and gave a credit card number to pay for whatever it was that she boosted.

A couple of paparazzi guys caught wind of it and offered my roommate a staggering amount of money to spill the beans on the story. It was literally like two years worth of her salary. To her credit she refused, mainly because she didn’t want to make life difficult for the store owner.

No, I was *not* asserting that in any way, shape, or form, and it literally never crossed my mind to think that way. I have no idea (nor do I care about) who “controls” Hollywood, if indeed there is even one specific group that controls it. She’s just an awful actress, and is actually getting worse at her craft as she’s gotten older, if that’s even possible (she wasn’t that great to begin with).

I think that Winona Ryder is horrible as an actress, and has actually gotten worse at it as she’s gotten older. She’s almost unwatchable in recent roles. It’s too bad that she’s part of the Tribe.
