Z-man, history has clearly shown that a player can have great numbers in G-league and they don’t translate to the NBA. Nonetheless, it is much better that Kolek excels than that he doesn’t. And this is pretty quick for him to excel, even for G-league. So I think it’s a good sign despite the major performance gap between G-league and the NBA.

The difference between G-League and NBA is too great to take anything away from this beyond Kolek has the skillset to be excellent at that lower level. The question for me is whether he is physically capable of being a plus player against the bigger, faster, and vastly more skilled players of the NBA. I don’t think we will know the answer until he has a full offseason to prepare for the NBA. Sadly, because of Brunson being a 25 mpg player for us for the next 5 years, it might be better for him to be traded to an up-and-coming team with a coach who will actually play him in non-emergency or garbage time minutes.

It sounds very good to me. From what I’ve read, NBA point guard has a big learning curve for rookies. I would think G league isn’t so easy either. Good for him.

Nice to have a player named Landry back on the team. Wouldn’t have minded if they’d tried signing Landry from Friday Night Lights, though.

Landry Shamet is unexciting in a vacuum, but you can hope for a cascading effect wherein his 10-15 minutes leaves our big dogs with more energy to close games.
